Invincible haulers??!?!

Lord Cavanagh	Posted - 2005.03.13 21:31:00 - [1] Hi. Have any other PvP people experienced the same thing? Today I lost my BS So decided to "quickly" get more money by killing innocent haulers in 0.4 and selling their cargo Evil I know but I wanted to get back at my gankers ASAP. Now - morals aside - why are haulers invincible? I fired 16 torpedos at one hauler who was approaching a gate and there was NO damage. Odd I thought, he hasnt even lost any shields... I put this down to error on my part and warped out. An hour or so later I decided to repeat this - but this time with my other account watching at the gate. I followed a hauler from one gate to another and we were 2km apart moving towards the gate from 15km away - PERFECT!! I again locked on, fired a few salvos of torpedos and AGAIN no damage to shields at all was done!!!! I went to my other account to verify this - locked onto the freighter with the other guys ships and there was absolutely NO DAMAGE to the hauler at all!! Not even 1 HP off the shields. Now... Im sure a lot of you are going to reply with constructive comments like "Serves you right", etc but Im looking for constructive comments from other PvP pirates. Has this happened to you too?

I was waiting there with baited breath thinking "Ooooh - 20mil of cargo is mine - muahahah" but the shields never even moved. Next salvo hit..same thing....then again...again.... Then I had to warp out as I was down to structure - Damn sentries
Artemis Drake	Posted - 2005.03.13 23:37:00 - [7] Mybe the client wasnt fast enough, meaning the guy who you were fireing on was afk in these new haulers and did get dmg but you didnt see it becouse of a client lag. Just an idea. But defenatly somekind of a BUG

Ive had multible problems tonihgt ranging from extended damage notices to not being able to reload for several minutes. When this happens i just dock and log ussually will clear itself up after DT ----------------------- And veggie in the back said "everyone" attack and it turned into a ballroom blitz! And Eris in the corner said "boy I wanna know ya" and it turned into a ballroom blitz

ollobrains	Posted - 2005.03.14 04:15:00 - [12] Maybe he had defender missiles on board - its also possible to use rails or lasers or something ive heard if you can target missiles and torps to actually shoot at them and blow em up - maybe he had ECM systems that stopped him getting damaged or i dunno fast shield repair ?

I saw the torpedos explode so definitely should have caused damage - if the torps were shot down by defenders or the like they wouldnt have exploded surely? I wasnt warping either. I warped after firing 3 rounds of torps (12 torps in total) which was why I was shocked that the 2 haulers didnt die on the 2 occassions!

There is no way in hell that any indy can survive a few slavos from torpedoes. If you say you saw the explosion and all that then it must be seriously lag for you or something. You need buy good torpedos from a reputable source. If I was you I'd stop buying faked/obsolete torpedos and I'd claim refund.
Fendor Atar	Posted - 2005.03.14 12:02:00 - [23] yea sounds like client bug/lag... only hauler that could survive torpedo hits is the new ones with the uber res.. though... is it possible that the Res nerf when suing hardeners dosent apply to these haulers? we all remember the invincible scorpions... what if the haulers can do this? (horror)

Dunno, got shot at by a lot of people last night lol... If it was me... Well, I was in a Viator and doing 1400ms.. I remember getting torped by someone a couple times.. Both times I made it to the gate (on my end anyway) before the torps reached me..

I know this since funny stuff was happening to me, and at the same time it was happening to people in the other far corners of eve (teamspeak). Docking, jumping, turret dmg not registering, sheild tanks not coming online. Weird stuff. Router problem at ccp maybe?
