Edited by: Maasu on 15/03/2005 14:05:36 Truth is people stopped being pvp'ers (some did), people sat npcing while there was call to arms's and what not, in truth a new generation of CA had not reacted to the adversity with dedication. Instead they took advantage of the dedication of others and chain spawned Angels.
VOTF went inactive and those that remained caused trouble. A lot of trouble. I am sorry for naming youre corp specifically Xirtam, you were a great asset to CA but you weren't there for the end and thats where the problem lay. You're faith in Aneu is still a bewilderment to me, especially when it has cost you so many friends. Regardless it is you're corp and i never once told you how to run it.
So the CA fell, internal arguements, external pressure. Bit of both really. It was an honour to be part of it and i had great fun during my time there.
So moving on, Imperium and Supremacy move to syndicate, Shinra move to Period Basis and the rest... well Ruskies dont move, some people are stubborn and don't believe CA is dead (hi saladin :p) and the Great Wildlands bunch stay together up there in the north.
From here on i can only talk of imperium and Supremacy. As i had little to no contact with the rest - bar harrasing chowdown in his irc channel.
Supremacy takes JQA space off JQA. Imperium take NORAD space off NORAD. And both start to forge plans for their neighbours.
Then something happend, while plans were in motion supremacy and imperium witnessed something they had not for the first time. Peace.
To some degree at least. I personally flew through solo without scouts through Syndicate space (0.0) many of the time (in battleships). No need for teh scout thanks to the map showing dead and what not, only blips i confirmed friendly. It was odd.
So the memberbase of Supremacy and Imperium camped choke points - getting very bored (well perhaps the imp lads had fun in PF) and we mined some. But complacencey set in, moaning bickering and feuding began. At this point i'll refrain from what i expereinced within Supremacy, if only to escape 0mega's wrath later when i log on. Suffice to say, I was too used to strict dicipline of OC when it came to certain things, its not the reason i left SUP though. That i shall get too.
I was incharge of certain diplomatic issues, and this involved talking to many different corps both whom we were fighting and flying with. Now what was interesting is that i was only ever insulted once. Of all the places it was on imperium teamspeak, by an imperium ceo whom i'd never met nor talked to. Over an incident that really shouldn't of been an issue. Now when i say insulted i'm not talking about a little pull of the leg. His officer had to come sort it explaining he was 'drunk' etc.
I've played eve drunk before (Goggles incident hihi), and I've heard other people drunk on eve before. Personally didn't think he was drunk and it was just another reminder of why CA ended.
I never stopped liking VOTF, nor R-K nor 1 or 2 of the other corps who'd fly with them. But there were others who i just didn't want to be asscoiated with. They were an Embarrasment. Thankfully the corp felt the same and Supremacy kept its distance from Imperium.
Sure if Imperium was to be attacked, we'd be there, but we never wanted to join Imperium thanks to the garbage that existed within it's ranks.
(Just a note here incase i forget, Supremacy is under new management - so im sure those views have changed and what i say here is purely historical.)

I move on from Supremacy to follow friends in the game to a new corp, it was a nice change and one that i needed perosnally to keep eve alive for me. The reason being i think Tholarim and Mack were getting bored of eve. I could understand that as well, i'd been tempted serveral times with the WoW box and felt a need for change. It was a little more drastic than i initially expected but regardless. These guys have been my mates on this game for a long time and i couldn't turn down the offer to follow them.
Supremacy isn't falling apart, there was no big bust up (well heidbanger and enslaver had a bit of flirting session but thats about it). It was merley a group of us moving on.
So how am i shooting my former CA comrades? Something i'd never expected to be doing. Well I joined ATUK (as you can see). An enemy i respected and enjoyed fighting against during my time in CA.
What ensued next in my first combat op in ATUK was odd to say the least.
A gang of frigates is in yulai, Most of us still had logistic issues (those that came from supremacy) and hadn't much larger in the area. We had empire wars with FIX and FA so we ran around there for a bit.
Next it was decided to go into Orvolle and see what we could catch there, we notice an FA blackbird jump into PF and decided to send thelung in to scout.
He see's two friendly (Imperium) and one FA blackbird - the black bird warping off - sitting in pf camping the gate.
The lung makes an attempt to grab the bb - and this is how i heard it on teamspeak - was then attacked by a warmongers member (Imperium corporation).
thelung manages to escape but the order is given to return fire. We then go onto destroy two Imperium battleships.
Maybe this could of been handled diplomatically, i don't want to speculate. I'm no longer a diplomat im just back to being a soldier. Nor did i want to stick my snout into politics on my first day (first few hours infact) inside a corp.
The fact is i get called a traitor, backstabber and a few other things. I even go on imperium teamspeak to explain my actions to the people there whom i still respected.
While i hope there still friends, they offer me information that the supremacy members leaving for atuk did so only if we could attack votf and imperium.
They said that it was our intention to give supremacy space to atuk and then to claim imperium space after driving them out.
If this was the case, which i know for certain it wasn't, mainly because tholarim and others were tired of grand schemes and so on that was the very reason he was returning to peonship within atuk, but if it was the case, i'd of never taken part.
I chose to ignore those telling me what was going on, for the simple fact that one of them hadn't even been playing the game for better half of two months.
So now i'm shooting ppl i like (although there are a lot more people within Imperium i am glad to be shooting), and argueing with those at times.
I feel guilty on one hand for leaving supremacy and then joining a corp that attacks Imperium. It's just how its panned out, but at the end of the day. I play to have fun, and that i am now.
I probably wrote this post for myself more than anyone. Just to explain a few things and i'm rather bored in the middle of doing an assignment.
Anyways end of waffle.

So I see you decided to single me out. Can't say I am suprised, considering your change of colours. What you call stubborness most people call dedication and perseverance. I didn't bend over and go with popular crowd because I enjoy the under dog status. Why don't you look at yourself and ask why you took the easy way out? |

tbh I can understand your decision.
Imperium holds some of the best out of the old CA. But indeed it holds some of the worst as well.
And of course, the good old practice of giving out false "intelligence" within the own alliance to get people to oppose those they might not want to oppose got carried over from the old CA too it seems. I remember some definite incidents in the past.
For some reason I still can't reconcile the huge flames that were thrown out over ATUK half a year to a year ago with all the xCA joining atuk now. Sure I understand them since atuk > most of old CA, but it shows once more how rotten some of the core of the old CA was, and I believe part of that now resides in Imperium too.
Anyway, I'm irrelevant so ignore me. Just wish you all the fun with the ATUK guys. _______________________________________________

Well, I'm kinda in the same situation as yourself Maasu. There is always the possibility I'll be fighting people I flew along side, as part of a BDCI or -MC- contract. I know this to be the case, however, I also know that as I will be shooting them for "fun" and in good spirits, they'll be doing the same to me as I will be just another red-box. Hell, First real night out with BDCI i pod-killed C4w3, someone I'd been commanded by while in CA.
Did i feel bad? Nope. Did I feel good? Nope. It's a game and me and the victim (sometimes the other way around of/c) both play to have fun and shoot things that aren't blue, green or purple. I don't think I'd hold my shots whoever was under the targetting bracket because all the people I know from my CA days are PvP'ers (except Thol the dirty belgian carebear and Ens with his clone army of miners ) who are HAPPY to get a fight, win or loose.
I do feel bad in a way, maybe even a little guilty, leaving the people I'd flown along side, but like you Maasu, I needed a change to keep the game interesting for me. Personally I'd also contacted the variouspeople responsible for forum and TS access and asked for them to be revoked so there was no chance of me being accused of betrayal. I wouldn't anyways, it's not who I am, but I like for my own piece of mind to have ensured that Troop won't be thought of as a "traitor" no matter what happens while under contracts with BDCI.
Anyho, sounds like you're having fun in ATUK Maasu, hope you continue to have plenty of good fights with whoever crosses your path.

I'm just as irrelevant as Rod Blaine in this thread really but I have also done the same as you...
Left my old alliance and corp to join a former enemy that I have fought and gained respect for after seeing them more than most carebears in Stain...
Well what I wanted to add to this thread was that some people needs to chill out and remember this is a game. No need for big schemes and plots, just chill out and find yourself some targets.
If the target really are your friends they will take it sportsmanlike and have a laugh with you and if not... well you see what many of the post in this forum is about

Hah !
I remember them russians going all paranoia on me about a new member I recruited into my (CA member) corporation at the time. Damn was I ****ed off at those stupid over the top russians not trusting someone that had been in SA 6 months before..
They told me it was a evolution spy, so after alot of discussing the member had to leave the corp again.
First thing I did in Evol corp chat a few months later was ask Abram wether he had indeed been the guy after that char that was supposed to be a spy.
Damn Russians were right ofc.
Fun **** went down in the CA. I still miss curse tbh. _______________________________________________

I needed no explanation. Im a soldier, im told by my superiors what to do. Lock, F1,F2,F3, etc..
If shooting your old allies helps you stay in eve, heh well thats allll you bro, your the one paying for the account. I have my own issues for being inactive largely due to the crappy cs in this game.

Hi Massu, i dont want to start a flame war in this thread, so all you people who may not agree with me, try a bit of tact.
Xirtam backed me up because he knew what i was doing was right. The corruption within CA was tremendous, im not going to name anyone but you know who im speaking of. This person didnt allow people the chance to voice their oppinion, i tried on the internal CA forums 3 times and got banned after the 3rd, so i put it up here.
Suffice to say, the vote for me being kicked was rigged from the start, even tho it was VERY close. 8 to 10
VOTF did the most honourable thing they could and backed up a fellow corp mate, of which i am eternaly gratefull to them for.
I respect your decision to join ATUK for fun, thats what this game is about, and thankfully things are getting alot funner for all VOTF at the moment.
We are fighters, we need to fight to keep this game alive for ourselfs, if that means you join your former allies enemies then so be it, im not one to judge other peoples actions (unless ofcorse prior actions were to try and allude your former allies from your true intentions- which is not the case for you).
I know iv been harsh to a few of you guys, and i do appologise. Good luck to you all and godspeed, and i hope to see you on the battlefield someday.

there is no reason to feel guilty.. it's only a game.. and if nothing changed it would get very boring :)
friends are different from allies.. yes it makes it easier if ur allies are friends too :P but friendship is based on respect.. and you can have that for friends and enemies alike..
"changing sides" doesnt fit everyone's idea's.. but you have been open and honest about it.. and others shouldnt expect u to play games by their rules..

Maasu I must have missed something here, you are surprised about someone with an atuk tag being shot at by Imperium? You chose to join a corp hositle to IMP live with the consequences and be happy you have decent pvpers you are allowed to fight:).
I am inactive now, partly because of fubared game mechanics (I was waiting for tempest/projectiles to be fixed and all they did was make them better when they worked alrdy, they are still as broke as they used to be) and partly because I went from being able to shoot anyone not CA to not being able to shoot people I really really want to shoot (such as atuk, mOo and evolution:) because of a web of NAPs.

nice story Maasu! Lot of that going on these days. We had a split in our corp for the very same reasons. It wasnt easy, but it was obvious there where different opinions. It sucks but ya gotta do what you feel is best.
Aneu, you said the vote was rigged. It was, but only because of the stance votf took with the consequences of it passing. I understand them sticking up for a member, but they forced it. There were a good number of corps that abstained. I was one, because I still felt CA needed VOTF and I had respect for some of its members. The vote was much more then weather you stayed CA or not and that was very clear to all.

Just to clarify from a Supremacy POV. We have IMP at +10 and we have ATUK at +10 and consider both to be allies / friends. The rest of BoB we have no care for and Im sure they feel the same about us.
This puts us in a potentially tricky position, normally I would have thought that we would have come down on the side of IMP (in a heartbeat tbh) what with us being close friends from the CA days of yore. However its no secret that we have a lot of ex corp members in ATUK and I would be loathe to be shooting them (well some of them anyway ). So for now it looks as if we will be doing a Swiss on this one.

I blame tholarim for everything its clear to me that he plotted the downfal of CA so that everyone would scatter and nap each other, so he can mine in peace in 0.0 space.
Now he joined atuk so that the remaining corps that have Bob as kos would nap them and there would be peace in the universe. Thank for god for Aney foiling (foyling?) this evil plan.

Bla, bla, bla, bla. Basicly comming down to the same old facts: CA fell apart, Aneu still thinks he is right and Maasu and the other Atuk people trying to convince themselves that their choice for ATUK was right.
Today they justify a fight against people in Imperium because it, next to the good guys, has alot of old rotten apples in it, tomorow its their old Supremacy mates. In the past we attacked our friends in Imperium, why make a diffrence with old corp mates? Why stop here? Offcourse it is right to attack former friends, sure its a game, go have fun,... But why the political bs with trying to make look your playstyle is the right one, its a game, who gives a damn (ok wrong question ) about what others think. Sure personally i dont agree with your playstyle, but its not my 15$ a month, so who gives. __________________________

to an extend dreamworks is right.
If you play eve for 2 years and joined huge alliances any change of pace will always bring you in the situation to shoot on "m8s". In addition the world turns on. The Votf you might be shooting now is not the same Votf (im just singeling them out here as an example) you fought alongside a few months ago.
Ppl come and ppl leave. In my experience the only thing u can do is be honest with your selected group of m8s, have a laugh with them and dont give a damn about the rest. You simply cant "exclude" whole groups, their allies, the ppl who might join them or the ppl who they currently like from your playingfield- Will drive you mad.
True friends understand its a game and understand that you shooting their corpm8s is nothing less worth then a honest GG and good luck.

Firstly, a good post Maasu, and an interesting read for those of us who weren't privvy to the finer details about the Curse Alliance collapse and alot of you guys leaving Supremacy.
But if I could point one thing out..
Originally by: Maasu Supremacy takes JQA space off JQA.
It was a bit more than just Supremacy that managed to take JQA space off them. During the large fleet battles when JQA suffered the heaviest losses afaik, there were are large number of pilots from Black Omega Security, Imperium, and local pirates such as "ASS", etc. Obviously JQA had their allies too, Xetic, 3FA, but I think had Supremacy attempted such an invasion single handedly it MIGHT have ended differently.
