After todays patch I no longer gain standing towards the corp whos agent I do missions for. I fact, my standing to the Pairlament DROPED from 2.05 to 2.0 after a few missions today!
I've done missions for a few other corps to but no increase there either.

UGH!
Papa is away - can anyone check this report?
I would suggest anyone with a non-important agent (ie: one of the freebies that u dont care about) to do a couple and see if standing changes and which way ;P
I will try it of course, but I only have one throwaway 15 away and wont be on till late tonight. But will try.

Just happened for me, i had +10 to gallente, and just did a mission for Lausalle Alsenoge (in Paye IX - moon 1)(Transsteller shipping, a gallente corp), and now my rating to Gallente has dropped to 2.
All my other faction ratings have dropped to 2 if they where more than 2 before :(
(i did use the rumour service too, dunno if thats relevent).

It happened to me as well. I completed a mission and my standing dropped from 4.2 to 2.0.
I worked for a couple of days runnign missions to raise it this high and haveing it lowered for completeing a mission seems unfair.

Drats! and double drats!
My rating is totally messed up. My faction rating with the Minmatar empire is now only 2.00 from a previous 6++, my -9 faction rating with the angel cartel is now -2.00 after doing 2 missions for a level 1 agent to test how much isk I will get now. Those 2 factions are not the only ones that changed.
I wonder if this is really the result of doing agent missions or something else. |

my story is the same. 9.42 caldari state and many others like this have all dropped to 2.00. "Let us have faith that right makes right, and in that faith let us to the end dare to do our duty as we understand it."

Papa mentioned that faction with agents would be capped at 2x the agent level, but if it is resetting faction down to 2x agent level rather than not giving you any increases, something is HORRIBLY wrong.
No more agent missions for me. I like my +10 Gallente faction. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

I did a test to see what's happening with faction/corporation standing when doing agent missions.
1 mission for a level 3 agent (krusual corp, minmatar republic) done.
faction/corp | before | after
krusual | 6.78 | 6.00 minmatar republic | 2.01 | 2.00 amarr empire | 1.98 | 1.99 concord assembly | 2.01 | 2.00
it looks like there's something not right with the code. i have filed a bug report. so, if you are concerned with your "nice" faction/corp standing atm, my advice is not to do agent missions until they have "address" this.

Ok, I recommend everyone who hasn't agents half the amount of his faction standings to stay away from missions.
Here is what I tested: - Did a mission for my lvl 3 agent (Republic Justice Corp)
Corporation standing: Rep Justice Department : before mission it was >6 (soemthing about 6.11, didn't pay much attention then as I wasn't aware of the bug/new feature then) After succesfull completion: 6.00
Faction standings: Concord Assembly went down to 6.00 Angel Cartel standing wnt UP to -6.00 (was -8.xx or so, always hunt them) some other faction standings changed too. Some didn't. Like Jove
So I tried another test: Did another mission for a lvl 1 agent of Republic Justice Department. What happened after successfull completion:
- Republic Justice Department corpration standing dropped to 2.0 !!! - Faction standings: Angel faction up to -1.9 Thukker Tribe up to -1.9 Concord Assembly doen from 6.00 to 2.00 Minmatar down to 2.0
My conclusion: If you do a successfull mission for a corp agent the following happens:
- your corp standing will be capped at 2 * agent lvl, that one u did the mission for.
- your factions standings get the same cap. But here there are dependencies between the factions. Only those factions that have a good/bad dependency towards your corp are affected. For faction you had a negative standing its capped at -2 * agent lvl For faction you had a negative standing its capped at +2 * agent lvl
Result: Its completly messed up and makes no sense at all. I will send a bug report too. Hopefully they can restore my standings...

One of PapaSmurf's replies on the Missions board said something about the maximum an Agent could bump your standing being twice their level... so you'd need to be using a level 3 agent to get above a 2.0 standing. Something like that - or I'm delusional again. I'll go look.
EDIT: Found it.
PapaSmurf Posted - 26/06/2003 17:20:00 Btw. the max standing achievable is capped at 2*agent level as of next patch. (link to thread)
It may be that there was a bug in the transition to the new code where only the standing of your first (level 1) agent was considered when calculating the ceilings.
EDIT: Fubared the link

It looks more like they are always taking the lvl of that agent, you did the latest mission for.
So, if u already got a standing better than agent lvl * 2 better don't do any missions for him. ;)
The other weird thing is that negative standings are _rising_. Funny.
Another point is that I am not sure, that cap makes much sense. Before the patch I had a corp standing of 6+ with one lvl 3 agent of that corp. So how do I raise that standing any more unless I get a lvl 4 agent ? Hopefully after bugfixing that lvl 3 agent will give me a lvl 4 agent.....

yeah, double your agent level like Papa said. my Gallente faction standing was 9.1 and my highest Gallente agent is a lvl 3.
ergo, the highest Gallente faction standing i can have is 6.00 which is exactly what it dropped to when i did an agent mission.
until my lvl 3 agent gives me a lvl 4 agent my standing will not rise above 6.00 (2x my agent lvl). same with the rest of you.

I have a level 2 agent and my standing dropped from 4.2 or so to 2.0. I did the mission for my level 1 agent. So it seems that it resets your standing to the max possible for the agent if you are over that limit.
Somehow that does not seem fair or what was intended.

I'm positive this was what is not intended, consider the situation of someone who runs L3 missions for a corp, and gets an L1 in another corp they want to run missions for.
Is it fair that they have to lose all the standing gained from those L3 missions?
I'm assuming the code was intended to simply prevent gains beyond a certain point. Retroactive reset is NOT the way it should be done.
I was looking forward to the agent changes this patch, but because of this bug I'm not touching agents with a 10 foot pole. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

Definitely something up with the cap.
I just tested, did a Level one mission and the standing dropped back to 2.00, did a Level two and it went to 2.02, did anotehr Level one and it goes back to 2.00.
P.S. Please raise a bug report about this guys, thanks.

has anyone used the black market or any other features (like location) since this faction prob occured - does using the BM affect your factions?

OKay same here ... but also the problem !!! When I have DONE the first <concord mission agent level 1 concord dropped AND didn't got any corp standing to concord BUT my SEC Standing FALLS to 2.0 (WAS 4.7)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggghhhh
So it seems CONCORD Standing is combined with SEC standing !!

PS: I think the drop to standing is okay .... but it should have been done with the database adjustment ...
WHAT NOT IS OKAY is the SEC drop for doing CONCORD Missions !!!!

Agent missions shouldn't be affecting faction standing at all, should they? Or at least not capping them in any way.
Agent mission faction changes should apply primarily to corp standings, that's the whole point of having 2 totally separate sets of standings, if there is a point to that.

I think you might have to resign yourself to the fact that the only way you'll get them back is by building them up all over again.
They're gone and the Devs aren't going to waste time sorting out how to bring them back, if they even can.

PLEASE post on Patch review - I have a topic there and I am increasingly ending up bumping it. Really because it NEEDS to be seen by the devs and I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that they are not donkey-depressions and they have jsut not had this really brought to their attns.
Post on general too (I haven't because I don't want to be accused of flooding, but it NEEDS to be everywhere till they respond.)
I am not asking them to fix it, but to at least post a NEWS item saying this is a problem and save ppl from this BIG bug. If they can address when it may be fixed that is a bennie.
Sucks that I have to be increasingly hostile about it because of utter disgust at their indifference.
