No rollback eh? I'll just have to spend all day looking for some insurance bug that gives me billions, buy the market, and sell it for 1isk to mOo and then ask CCP again: "Rollback please?"
I like how they ignore their consumers - last time almost no one wanted rollback (though admittedly, it was required since that insurance scam could've killed the game). This time, every other person I talk to ingame is cheering for rollback and CCP has their hands over their ears. Way to go, CCP.

I'm pretty sure all of the people who are cheering for the patch are reading the forums at work and have yet to play. Stop posting and wait for the fun surprise you find when you get home ;-)

I am happy with this finally got a lab and a factory slot i don't need more then 1 of each so i am satisfied.

Please post detailed information about upcoming changes. Make this information available for everyone. SHOUT IT SEVERAL TIMES! Give us grace period, etc....

Yup roll it back...for those saying look at the dates...how is that going to help if you have lost your slots (factory/research) I think everyone by now understands he/she is paying back pay and still got screwed...

The patch not only checked to see if you used the slots within the LAST rental period, but within EVERY rental period since you rented the slot. If you did not use the slots any time during those periods, It got unrented.
So those of you that were hogging the slots thinking to just put in one item before the patch still lost them.

It looks like they are going to rollback the rent logs, not the entire game. Either way this is a univesal problem, and nobody should use Factory or Research slots till CCP fixes the problem to avoid more accidents.

I was fortunate enough to be informed via a phone call that our corp had lost all it's labs and factories in our "home sector". Unbelievingly, I logged on immediately to confirm and sure enough, no more slots of any kind.
Fortunatly, the vultures hadn't yet griefed the station and we restored the leases on our slots and are back in business.
I then discovered numerous, very old bills. Apparently never paid and since the date was so old, it was impossible to qualify for the "must use in 3 days or lose it" clause.
I've paid the bills about 3 hours ago and things seem to be operating normally now.
As for the poor souls who lost their "home bases". That truly sucks, but the truth is, you can recover and relocate if needed. There is LOTS of slots available out there now.

Yeah...I was going to reply to Moondragon. Just checked with our CEO...all slots have been used at least once in the last 36 hours. In two instances, in the midst of research, the slot became vacant again and the research terminated. I was wrong about the BP before, they did not get lost, but we did lose two days of research on a cruiser.
We didnt have a heck of a lot of them, nor were we hogging them at all.
I am glad to see the one portion of the game may be set back. I hate rollbacks, but for the ones that were using them at the time of the bump certainly don't deserve the action of being bumped.

I purchased some factory slots for 1 million each a few weeks ago. The rent was paid initially but I was never billed again. Today when I logged on they were freed and rerented by someone else. On the other hand I went to another system (much better) and was able to rent 4 labs and 4 factories that were freed so it worked out.
From what I can tell these extra "bills" people are getting are not extra at all, they're past due, these people need to pay for the slots they had right?
The only thing I can see changing is giving them the option to pay the back-rent all at once instead of having a new bill show up every hour. People do have to sleep you know!

Its good if they are just going to roll back the rent logs. I think this new system will work out better than before the patch. It will at least free up some space that were hogged up by people not using them.

Well, the current news say nothing about a possible solution. Only that a backlog of bills had been issued.
Well, my corporation lost its _only_ research slot (which was in use for almost the complete past week) and the vultures already snagged it. We are desperately looking for a new one, but no luck so far. Furthermore, I can't even file a bug report in-game about it.
Edit: my character is stuck now and won't load, so even looking for a new research slot is out of the question. And yes, I know how to clear the cache etc.
This feels like a bad joke. Honestly, I don't know if I can stand much more of this sloppy work...

I so badly want to be a smart mouth about losing my factories and research slots that where in use! Ok, am counting to 10 slowly........ok that didnt work.........@#@%%#$ CCP you are@#$#@$ so @W#@$ I can not @##%^%@ belive..ok, that didnt help either.
Please immediately rework this patch as it relates to factories and labs in use. OR roll it back boys.....

erm guys what u going on about loosing slots... after this patch there will always be free slots somewhere not to mention those who hoard slots will only loose money, only in the most heavily used systems will all slots be in use...

While the notion of paying past bills isnÆt a problem, I do have a problem with never being told the charges until a mass quantity of bills shows up at my inbox and not being given an appropriate amount of time to pay such bills. On top of this, after paying multiple bills, I had to take a break (leave the game for a few hours) and then come back to find, all in progress items are ejected, and I donÆt own the slots.
Because I would see the man hours spent to continue to correct other issues and help customers who develop new problems (fast customer service response), versus knowing it will be a manual fix measure taking many man hours.
I also Vote for a Roll-Back. Heh, do it now right before the holiday weekend.

Jesus Christ!!! 4 days of research LOST!! An unknown godly amount of minerals LOST!! The factory and research slots that were being use, and have always been used LOST!! Roll it back and fix it! Im with you all ROLL IT BACK and test the goddamn patch before you put it live! The one thing that really ****es me off about these guys is they NEVER inform you that they are going to do something! Its always lets log in today and see whats been messed up. ROLL IT BACK!! ROLL IT BACK!! ROLL IT BACK!!

Mmm, my corporation had already been screwed with once on this issue, where one of our only 2 research slots we owned went *poof* and someone else rented it, now the last one we had is gone as well as EVERY one of the 6 Factory slots we have, so in essence, we have no production or science research capabilities, and all the newbs now went around, said "screw you all" and bought them all up to sell them back to corps... oh, and they changed the bonuses on my Rupture, just like they changed my MWD bonuses... You CANNOT plan for ANYTHING in this game, because some magical entity continues to F with the game every time one of them has some brain-farted idea on how to make it "BETTER". This is definitely a unique game in that aspect, doing 180's right in the middle of the game... They need to get a clue before 4/5 of everyone goes SWG on them... Hey CCP... Beta was supposed to end in MAY? WTF!

Rollback? Are you kidding me? If you didn't see this coming and failed to prepare for it, then I question your strategic planning abilities. If your company can't quickly adapt to changing business environments, perhaps you shouldn't be in business. My corp is doing just fine... and even better if people could unrent office slots. We have labs and factories everywhere but don't have corporate offices to go with them.
Let us unrent offices!
