This is not a very direct response to the topic of this thread but its something I think is worth mentioning so that maybe the Star Fraction can understand better what they are getting themselves into.
As a convert to the Amarrian faith and student of their culture I have learned a great deal about them. The Amarrian way of life is centered basically on one thing, doing God's will.
To serve God's will the Amarr have to do something extremely difficult. Every day, every hour, every moment of their lives, they must ask themselves "How may I serve God's will in this...in that?"
What this translates into is the Amarr being the most selfless of people. This selflessness can be seen in many things. They may refrain from spending money on a family vacation to donate it to the Church so that it may care for the poor and heal the sick. If offended they will not allow their pride to make them feel malice towards another, they will forgive instead.
If an Amarrian does some great deed, he will accept recognition with the most humble of hearts, because an Amarr knows all he does is only through the blessing of God...for what is a man but dust in the wind? There is no personal glory, there is no pride in one's self. There is the purpose...the purpose that drives Amarrians, the all consuming drive to serve Gods will.
The selfless character of the Amarr, which is especially strong among those in the CVA, will ensure they are never defeated. Ships can be destroyed. Resources can be deprived. But the vessel of Amarr is not a cruiser or battleship, but the human spirit, which is sustained by God. And the resource of the Amarr is their God, an intangible that cannot be found, damaged, or destroyed.
The Amarr love their way of life. They love their God. They love having such purpose...a purpose which other races scarcely understand. You think that you could intimidate them or make them fearful with your threats. You think that after you destroy some of their ships you will demoralize them?
No. The only fear the Amarr have is to fail their Lord God. Death is not failure. Destruction is not failure.
Giving up is failure.
This war can only end in one way. Amarrian Victory.
