Whenever I tried to put a post in this thread before I always missed the unlocked window.
Its a bit rough that Xetic cannot purchase things to make stuff better where it lives. Whether expensive or not, we should be able to conduct some renovations on the station and put a few more things there. Even if they were a billion isk a pop.
As for the Empire War stuff - you get 10 man corps declaring on you. So you find out who they, their names, where they live, intel - oh they retracted. Rinse and repeat.
There is plenty of stuff that is in the game that is tiresome. Like non persistent ships....the log on log off stuff just drives me bonkers. Everyone says 'But I have a dialup connection that I use from a payphone in a diner with my laptop! So you can't have persistent ships...'
The only time I had disconnects on broadband was when some people were using disconnect exploits (I suspect but how can I prove it?) so that whenever they would appear in front of u your connection dropped. This was in a darker age, not recently.
Realistically, ships should not be able to disappear and reappear on a whim. And fleet battles were the worst with log on log off bs no doubt coordinated on ts. It seems only reasonable that like everything else in the ingame world, it should not vanish and reappear at the whim of the user. If you want to be safe when u log off, dock at a station. And if you disconnect because u r on dialup at he payphone in the diner...tough. But far more evil is caused by the current system, then is prevented by having the disappearing ship fiasco.
The other that is kind of ridiculous is the alt spy. You engage someone, they run away. Then the alt spy comes back and scans every1s setup....and then leaves so they know how to counter it. Best way to deal with that is to make the scan of a person's ship in empire an act of aggression. And frankly it is. Its a little silly that a fleet of warships have to just look on while Mr Nooble Alt Man is jotting down their setups to relay to the pirate fleet that will shortly come back to counter EW, or use dampeners or whatever and attack them. They should be able to blow the feelthy spy into space dust.
