I was looking through EVE-I's object explorer and recently noticed the boosters. I'm aware that you can't take everything in the OE for face value, but having said that, it brought up a rather nice angle on why POS's will probably never be allowed in secure empire space.

We all know that for the most part drugs in secure empire are bad for you. They used to cost you your ship not too long ago. We also know that boosters will probably make their way into the game sometime in the future. Concord will most likely never allow booster production/transport within it's patrolled space so this really only leaves one conclusion. They will have to be built in 0.3-0.0 at a POS or in the pirate faction stations in alliance space and "smuggled" into empire.

Now, as to "WHEN" boosters will be introduced is anyones guess. I hope, for the sake of the POS's future that these boosters are limited to production in POS's only. It fits logically into the current state of things with the introduction of the "new" black market skill and legality issue of drugs in empire. And if the Eve-I info is correct, then the booster will replace implants for alot of eve players.

Keep in mind that this is all just a bunch of hypothetical "hoobla" on my part but it does bring up a possible lucrative future for POS owners.

Making them POs only makes no sense from a game prespective. Its also sort of pointless.

A: Pirates have factories, theyve been building boosters for ages and they never owned a single POS. Not to mention Station factories are far more advanced then POS factories.

B: Boosters have been advertised by the devs as the reward for Pirate mission runners who have always had to put up with crappy missions/rewards.

C: That is of course assuming that Booster BPOS will be released, theres no info as to how one will get them. For all we know Pirate Agents will hand them out as Bonus rewards.

POS suck, instead of forcing people to use a ****ty and poorly implementing feature by limiting certain aspects of the game to POSes only CCP would be better off making POS actually usefull.
Or Deleting them from the game and Releasing the Station Construction Platforms that have been in the game files since the beta.

Which would mean that certain features should be limited to POS only, to make them usefull.

and/or make it the only platform to build titans/dreadnaughts since they should be too big to be built inside a station.

Would be awesome to have them built outside the bubble of the POS within a subspace dock, which would give that you have to defend ur POS if enemies around while ur ship is being built.

 my few cents.

Well that or they could start with simple stuff like Less Baby Sitting required, adding Factories, Labs, a Market, Better hangar security, Lower the Shield HPS, adding cloning, fixing the Ship maitance hangar, etc.

Then wehen people can actually say; "Wow those starbases actually look cool" then CCP can start limiting aspects of the game to them.

Limiting boosters to starbases only however doesnt make any sense and is a bad idea
