Seems a lot of people are posting on behalf of some big alliance or corp. This post is on behalf of myself and anyone else out there who are looked at as the ôLittle Manö. Who doesnÆt know any mods or didnÆt make 1billion isk in a week.
I play EVE for PVP and Role-play. Eve is the best MMO ever made. Lately I have found myself at a ôDEAD HAULTö. I see all these new posts about players whining as I am, about 0.0 space. Well I feel my situation is much worse than theirs.
I came from 0.0 ôPiracyö to start my ôSolo Piracyö goals up. I went to more higher security empire ôPVPö because I canÆt hack killing people 20 on 1. SO I join a new small pirate corp that would respect my wishes to solo pvp/ransom. First day I down 12 cruisers in my Inty. Never had so much fun solo in my life. Not to mention people actually give me respect for fighting them solo and having some form of honor. Instead of flaming my head off.
So whatÆs the deal Famine? Sounds fun!
Well, ItÆs like I put EVE in ôHard Modeö now. I recently lost my ship to an evil ôThoraxö with evil ôDronesö. Damn those drones, Damn them all to hell! So I sit here, with LOW SECURITY status that I got in 2 days. Hell in the first day I couldnÆt go into empire anymore. So this leaves me with the following.
-No Ship -No Corps. To deliver or make me a Ship.
Well why is that Famine? Should be easy to get someone to give you a ship?
Yeah I could easily pay 120% the price of a ship to get one to my system. But most players feel there Implants arenÆt worth losing it to a bounty criminal as myself who might just be trying to ôLOREö them in for a gate gankà
So, EVE right now is at a ôDead Stopö. I canÆt find anyone to bring me a ship. The low security systems have no ships. IÆm a hop outside 0.7 with supplies and itÆs like ôWow why canÆt the npcs jump in. There are guards still in 0.3 systemsö. Not to mention, I donÆt have 500 alts or a big ass corp that can just snap there 100billion isk to get me a new tech II setup. The balance between ôSecurity Statusö, ôSuppliesö, and ôImplant Losingö, with the role of ôLow Security Livingö in Empire is WAYYY OUT OF balancedà Hell I sit at an ôAcademyö station right now with about 40,000,000,000 worth of skills. Yet no ships? Hrrmmmm?
So itÆs pretty bad on my end. I might as well hang it up or become a ôCarebearö now. Just be like everyone else and declare moronic wars on corps. Oh wait I CANÆT DO THAT! Damn you 0.0 fools got it so easy! Just leave your corp and youÆre out a war. I canÆt do ANYTHING! hehe
-Fixes?- 1 û Low security systems near High security systems should have as equal supplies. 2 û Low security status should have better if not gains from all npc kills? 3 û Make industrial NPC agents who can maybe build ships at the stations at a higher price? 4 û MAKE AN INDUSTRIAL SHIP THAT CAN HOARD SHIPS! 5 û I dono, but I had to add 5 just for the hell of it.

Famine....you forgot another fix...stop training this one train up an alt to do you "legit" work. Move ships...sell loot...etc etc.
and 40 million sp? seems a little untruthful there...

NPC's only produce the bottom couple of frigates for each race, everything else is produced by players, the players generally dont produce and sell ships in low sec because pirates make it too dangerous.
Ironic perhaps ? . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.

Some non- that sees the earning potential will eventually take it instead of whining about how dangerous sentry travel is and instead pay a frigate to check out a gate ahead. Also, perhaps you should buy an extra to lay around.
Also, once frieghters enter game. Empire mining seriously needs to be nerfed .5 and above so the fields are easily stripped of all resources.

Shouldn't have to be forced to use a alt when eve is at a dead-point.
The "400000000000" quote was sarcaism due to the fact the station im at has like every skill yet no supplies.
I don't know the expert details on what NPC's produce in game. All I know is that, I can't find anyone willing to bring me a ship nor find a ship in the limited amount of systems I fly in. I'm basicly trapped till I can find someone willing to help a pirate. Which will be very unlikley.
Main point is, Eve is forcing people like myself to quit pvp and become carebears by brute force.

Buy orders can be placed in diffrent catagories. "Station", "System", "region" and I think "40 hops away". Thus leading me to my other problem I forgot to mention. If I place a buy order by "Region" I will get a ship made in a 0.5-0.9 system. Which I obviously can't get. If I do it "Solar" or "Station" noone will see it.
Frieghters or whatever from my understanding will be "Station" to "Station". I guess that means they can't gate jump? I dono... Either way, noone is going to fly one in low security space after the patch. Prob be insane amount of skills and very expiensive. Good Idea, but no help on my end.
Yes I did mean the station had a bunch of skills forsale yet no ships. Not that I had 40billion SP silly :P

Edited by: Rod Blaine on 21/03/2005 19:55:21 What system and what do you fly ?
I wouldnt have any trouble at all to bring a cruiser down to low sec tbh. As long as you don't want someone to fly down an iteron 5 I see no reason people wouldn't do it for a decent price. Just make it worth more then my clone, which would make looking for someone else to do the job cheaper I guess
Half of Eve has no implants, if profit > clone by a fair margin, someone will stand up and come fill your order.
Just remember to put up a buy order like that before you lose your ship next time. Never hurts having a backup. _______________________________________________

Actually if you place a buy order on system or station only, they can be seen from further away, that setting only defines where the goods can be currently to complete the order. . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.

Didn't know that Zyria, but I had a buy order for solarsystem all week and then some. I even got my isk stuck on the market when it expired hah. But looks like some people now want to fly into my system and overcharge me. So I might be in luck.
I'll contact you guys in game, I fly "Stiletto" and or "Claws". Supplies, all Tech II typical inty setups.

Sounds like you've run yourself up against a hard wall called reality there, Famine. You're a solo pirate. You have little to no support. You've lost your ship. Is it really a surprise that you're somewhat frelled now?
In my opinion, best thing for you to do would be to contact a pirate corp, and see what you can arrange. Just be glad that insurance isn't linked to security status. __________________ Interstellar joy-rider |

Well it's like I live in a world. I can't just goto a station and special order a part I need. Yet here in reality even the most far out cities can get UPS to them. It's not very realistic to me. But you do have a point as well.

I gotta say, first read through, my initial impressions weren't too forgiving, but I can see your point of view here. It's a tough break.
Are there any corps out there that specialise in low-sec deliveries, perhaps? I'm sure there must be a few, check elsewhere on the forums or try the chat channels. UPS flying Gankageddons __________________ Interstellar joy-rider |

Edited by: Miner''s Bane on 21/03/2005 20:32:06 How to survive as a pirate in 5 Easy Steps:
1. Start off with plenty of capital and/or low-sec lvl 4 agents/0.0 access.
2. Train PE 4, the markets in 0.4 and under are worthless. You will find it much easier to find a nice system with plenty of low-sec access and stock it with BPs and minerals. (If you end up in a low-sec missioning system, you can probably make a decent side profit manufacturing commonly-used modules)
3. Find a corp with members who are willing to move tech2 ships into low-sec for you. You'll probably have to pay a few million extra, but whats a few million, anyway.
4. If you dont have friendly 0.0 space access, make sure you learn how to NPC 750k battleships in hostile NPC space. Assault frigates/cruisers can be very useful here.
5. Kill everything. ------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey now, I had to be forced into a Claw due to it being the only inty sold in the system =) If I was in my EW Stiletto, the thorax wouldn't have won. Heh, was a good fight none the less. Goooo Autocannons!
To the post on the "5 Easy Steps". Much easier said than done. Don't want to join a corp just because they move tech II ships in. There arn't that many who hunt in those regions. Only a few really hardcore ones who fly only battleships. As for gatering up minerals and BPC's before hand, would have been a good idea. But that is short term, in the long wrong you will get downed one day. When that day happens you are stuck as I am. Maybe a tweak in the system wouldn't hurt.

Its very easy to do, in reality. Ignoring the fact that you wont join a corp and partially cripple yourself there, you can easily move low-end BPOs and ship BPCs to a station in low-sec with an alt in a shuttle. Make instas from high-sec down if youre worried about other pirates.
Minerals can be easily enough obtained if youre close to high-sec space and put good buy orders out.
Look, now you have the ability to supply yourself more or less indefinately, and depending on where you've set up shop, you could probably make a decent chunk of profit from selling gear.
I lose ships all the time, but every few weeks I load up the factories with frigate and cruiser BPCs, and make myself enough for a while. Same thing goes with most weapons, ammo, and modules.
I would suggust that you create a minmatar alt with minmatar frigate 4 and use him for running tech2 modules to you in low-sec. Won't even take any training time, just fly around a slasher with instas.
In fact, given how much I've written here, I would say that it is easier done then said. ------------------------------------------------------------------

Really tho, should be no problem if your only 1 jump from safe space, just contact me thru eve-mail or convo, depending on whether i'm online or not i can bring you a ship, though only minmatar, not Tech2 and no BS :P i just ask a nice bit of money for it... you see i'd come with whatever you'd need fitted on the ship, so i can fly out in my pod and get ganked, thus you'd need to pay for a new clone aswell :D
But if you're really high on need, that wouldnt be a problem at all :)

On the subject of EW Stiletto's, the proposed EW changes will kill off most decent setups.
Infact, they will put a stop to Interceptors being viable PvP options altogether.
