As Director of the SPCS I think of today as the beginning of a new era in our sacred duty to Amarr. With that in mind I am pleased to announce the SPCS will be accepting nominations for its Board of Advisors. The BoA is responsible for working with the Director in forming new policy and guidelines as well as providing insight into all aspects of the legal slave trade in our great Empire.
While the Director holds ultimate authority to make decisions the SPCS Board of Advisors is still a highly influential group of slavery experts.
Nominations are public but only those of good character and standing with the Amarrian Empire will be considered. Those wishing nomination should indicate here why they wish to serve.
As the SPCS Board of Advisors is diverse many varied views on slavery may be presented. All of good character will be considered.

FIRST APPOINTMENTS TO SPCS BOARD ANNOUNCED
I am pleased to announce the first appointments to the SPCS Board of Advisors have been named. Previously requested to apply and now accepted are:
Jim Hawkins Tyrrax Thork Ixianus
I would also like to invite these upstanding people to apply as their excellence in the field of Amarrian commerce and slavery in general can not be denied. Their level of knowledge in the field puts them in the elite of the Amarrian system.
Ardor Dau Imperius
Also to show the fairness and good intentions that is the SPCS I am requesting a representative of the Abolishionist movement join the Advisory Board. While we will not recommend abolishing slavery without a direct order of the Emperor we do seek to treat slaves humanely per the Emperors order. As stated all viewpoints on the issue are welcome.
Lastly I ask the Minmatar to designate an honest reputable Ambassador to the SPCS. While despising slavery and all Amarr represents it is nontheless true that most Minmatar would approve of efforts to create better conditions for all their more forunate kin receiving the gift of Enlightenment. The Minmatar Ambassador should be a Minmatar of open mind and upstanding character.

Quote: "I've heard of something like this before, where everyone, at least through representation, has a say in the actions of a governing body. In my experience it is commonly referred to as democracy. It pleases me to see loyal members of the Amarr Empire experimenting with different models of government. I must ask however, does the SPCS seek to represent the views of any other races, even those who may not be directly involved, on this board of advisors?"
You missed the part about the Director having ultimate authority. No the SPCS Board of Advisors are advisory in nature. Still only a foolish Director would dismiss the opinions of others without due consideration. While the Director has final say all opinions will be considered and feedback will be gathered.
As for allowing those of other races on the advisory board the answer is yes provided they are law abiding and of good character. I know some of the universes finest slavers are Caldari. Their economic first system is very profitable and the SPCS would seek to interject its guidelines in the treatment of slaves throughout all Empires.
Sadly the worst area of space we've seen for slave treatment is the Minmatar slave pens in Pator. It's amazing these people would capture and sell their own in such high numbers. It would be a great accomplishment to bring all Pator slavers under SPCS guidelines and I'm certain in the long run those opportunistic Minmatar and Ammatar who participate in this legal slave trade would see profits rise as happier slaves are more productive and more likely to reproduce.

Shira would be a fine addition and I am happy to announce her appointment.
As for Deathwing I agree he has extensive knowledge of the slave trade and Amarrian Economics. Still one requirement is to be in good standing and of good repute with the Empire. As the Emperor is the Empire having someone present who would seek to assassinate the Emperor would be a distraction and inapporpriate as the SPCS follows the Emperors guidelines for the care and treatment of slaves.
We're Deathwing to renounce his former act and pledge support to the Emperor an application from him would be considered. Until that time I'm afraid its not possible. While advisors can hold divergent views of the direction the Empire travels it is a different situtation to have actually participated in an act like assassination.

Quote: "Will you have a Board of advisor's that will pamper the slaves until they begin to get "their own ideas"?At that point I can assure you that this will bring upon us, the downfall of slavery."
I can assure you this will NOT happen while I am SPCS Director. The slave trade is a living breathing legal part of the Amarrian Empire ordained by God and directed by the Emperor. The order of the Emperor is that slaves be treated humanely. That is the ONLY order.
The SPCS will recommend guidelines for the care and handling of slaves. These are guidelines but any slaver following them will be known to be humane and caring.
I fear too many slave holders look at the beasts as purely raw labor. One duty that some slavers ignore is the duty of enlightenment. Our sacred duty calls on us to bring these heathens closer to God. I know its a difficult and seemingly impossible task given what we have to work with but we must try.
I would never presume to order people to follow particular guidelines rather I would seek to enact guidelines which are universally recognized as fair and humane. Such guidelines would create a slave society where slaves are encouraged to reach enlightenment and encouraged to work their hardest for the Empire. In the end only a slaves works can be measured. Still studies have shown happy slaves are more productive then those treated poorly. In the long run this increases the odds of enlightenment as well as increasing slave production capabilities.
