Defenitely an improvement, but I am curious as to why the last couldn't just be returned. Incompatability? |

Agreed that the ships need to fade in and fade out more. They just pop into existance too quickly, and at the wrong point in the animation. Mostly on jump in, jump out looks much better. |

Seriously where is the quality control, this is horrible. A lazy attempt.
It is evident that you can do much better even with the current tools/engine.

It should be strong, prominent, clean and most importantly abrupt, both the effect and the sound.
Red is a bad choice of color, stick with blue and if possible have a blue effect and mildly blends to orange or green.
BOOM>Lightshow
The ship shooting off into space is bad. The old cyno effect was as if a wormhole was dropping the ship off into space.
As for the cyno itself it is alright, but it could be much cooler. It should be more like a tear that moves and wiggles. Imagine tearing a piece of paper in the middle.
Think about it, it is like the ships are ripping through space. Cater to that because that is what is cool.
Don't overdo it, and don't underdo it. It should still have a clean yet powerful feel to it. |

I like the idea of ripping through space and as I wrote in a different thread touching on the subject, I think if you are about to make a jump after the cyno has been activated, you should also be able to vaguely see into the system you are jumping to, like the wormhole effect.

tbh jumpdrives should make the same effect as having a knife stab on the time-space continuum.
this is a veritable piece of equipment that does rip the reality fabric after all, so the effect should be equivalent to a big rip.

Everyone's been showing individual jumpins, but that's no fun. Where's the hotdrops and big fleet jumps? |

The jumping effect is sort of ruined when you see the ball of light fly off into the distance, but the ship is obviously cloaked in the same position.
I think jump drives should be the same as the first few seconds of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiSx5OURmWI
Also, invert the colours on the covert cyno so its a black ball with orangeish lightning. |

The ship should not show up on grid until the bright flash. Hole appears, bright flash, OMG TITAN! |
