Yeah no, not going to re-download EVE again just to update, especially when all the updates nerf all the ships.
EVE was a great game, but starting from the Miner updates (maybe even before this) it's been going downhill. The alliance coalition used to have about 28000 players active, now we're down to about 6000. Miners, now that you can't even extend the ore hold; and the Hulk isn't a solo miner anymore, there's nothing you can do without having a full mining fleet; unless you want to jet and haul for yourself.
And don't even get me started on the Tengu changes, cruiser changes, etc.
But not even being able to update? That definitely takes the cake for me. Your download servers are slow enough that I don't want to download the full game again, especially when the patch was only 3.6 MB according to the client; then erroring out because the patch doesn't exist; and telling me I have to download the entire game again.
I have a 1GBPS full duplex line, and I get about 200kb/sec in your downloader; seriously?
NOTE: I was playing EVE just fine 20 hours ago. |

Nobody can have my stuff, not yet anyways. I'll probably get a silly reply from a dev eventually being all "Sorry for the inconvenience lulz, take this patch [link]". This isn't the first time this has happened, and my 300 plex purchase gets me some pretty good replies around here. |

I'm not an idiot, I redeem in Jita and sell there; I really don't understand why people will redeem elsewhere and get ganked, lose PLEX, etc. Idiots that feed the rest of us I suppose. And yeah, 300 PLEX with IRL is not that much money for a web developer, I do freelance for often have a bit too much money at one time, leads to spending it on things like this.
Why exactly 300? That's the amount it had to be to warrant contacting CCP about special deals :D |

I love how my patching was broken for DUST and clothing changes, that's just sad.
- Removed visible gaps from some clothing items were removed.

That's fine, but the ore holds.. oh god; you can't expand them? Only your cargo holds? And as per fleets, we've all see the number of players in EVE steadily decrease over the past few months. It's getting harder and harder to keep a few WH and nullsec systems all full of active players, keeping your IH scores at Lv5 and such isn't that easy anymore.

Good riddance OP.
I actually think the buff/nerf thread is a bigger whine, but that's alright. I'm used to people like you in EVE. Also; triple-bolding your text doesn't make it any more bold. L2HTML/bbcode |

NOTE: I was playing EVE just fine 20 hours ago. Here's my piece of advice. Send in your CV to CCP and tell them that you are THE MAN to solve all of their issues regarding patches and the whole system. Your knowledge of everything can instantly fix this problem with your amazing expertise, leaving us, the players all happy and fuzzy when we get to play an EVE Online that is so incredibly complex yet works flawlessly. Thank you very much.
Even as a troll I'm glad you're the first person to take more than ~3 seconds to write a reply. I'd glady work for/with CCP if they didn't use such terrible technologies as ASP.net and the likes. Side note: Python was never meant for games. |

Oh, and the patch took me longer to calculate the diff for than to download and install, and I'm on a measly 25mbit line here. Sounds like your client was broken or you didn't manage to get a good send on that diff.
Perhaps, simply my client asked me to update,. told me the patch was 3.6MB; then said the patch file (blah blah blah.exe) didn't exist on the server, and asked if I'd like to go to the support page. Support page gave me the screenshot I posted in the OP. |

Thank you! I'd have to agree. I don't give half a **** about DUST, and I think others here agree with me on that. |

It's not time yet: EVE Online: Inferno 1.3 is scheduled for deployment during an extended downtime on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Downtime will begin at 11:00 UTC and is expected to be completed at 13:45 UTC. Geez, dude...............
Of course, yet it's going up and down constantly. (you can see this by trying to join EVE-gate voice or check your forum messages located in the top right next to the EVE Universe dropdown.)
You'll see on some pages it shows as http://i.imgur.com/izOFA.png (empty) and on others it shows properly: http://i.imgur.com/y3XXv.png |

Grow up OP its patch day
No other large games have this problem of ****** download servers? I'm sorry, but Blizzard's datacenter doesn't go down when SC2 patches. |

What, that EVE has bad servers / not enough upstream? I have servers, even the most ridiculous hardware isn't that expensive because your datacenter loves to strike deals to keep clients; often charging you monthly a fee 1/50th the price of purchasing the server itself. |

I wasn't able to DOWNLOAD the patch, let alone apply it. The EVE client says the patch doesn't exist at the location it tries to download from. |

Yeah, splitting the holds make cargo expanders (and the related rigs) pretty useless for miners / industrial.
Tippia wrote:Quote:Of course, yet it's going up and down constantly. Yes? Is this your first patch day? Testing and checking the server is pretty SOP when a new build is put in place.
I've patched many times, always on patch day; often during downtime. This is the first time I've encountered so many problems doing so. |

It seems it's an issue with CCP servers according to the error in image 2. |

It's because SC2 as a game involves a common interface you connect to that doesn't change, and the server doesn't need to change because the communications always remain exactly the same. Not to mention the game servers are merely a bridge to go between you and the other players in a game of at most 7 other computers, whereas the amount of calculations the EVE server must do necessitates more software. Maybe you should look elsewhere before you blame CCP.
Please view the post immediately above yours. As per the SC2 comparison, yeah; I understand that. I'm speaking however of the whole "downloading patch" bit. 100,000 people downloading a 3.6MB file doesn't suddenly slow the entire DC to ****. |

Maybe you should try harder to calm down (I know you tried) and look forward to a better patch they might come up with. I was going to quit EVE too, but my friend said CCP usually fix their mistakes once after a while, maybe 6 years. So there is still hope.
Keep a smile on and try not to feed the trolls! :D
I don't want to wait 6 years for them to re-buff missiles though :/. |
