I have never been so ashamed to be a Westerner in my life, I think anyone else that has seen the movie will agree with me.
It's an amazing film though, just a little rough to watch at some parts. ----------------------------

Okay, I always get flamed for this one but screw it...
'Armageddon'. Why? The scene where Bruce Willis ganks Ben Afleck's suit and shoves him back inside the tube. "NO! This is my job!"
"You go take care of my little girl. That's your job now. I've always thought of you as a son etc..."
I don't care what anyone thinks. The first time I saw that... man, that was some manly, tear-jerking stuff. "You take care of my baby girl. I'm gonna go blow up this rock."
Bruce 4TW!
EDIT - Yes to a few of the other more serious movies here as well. Except for Lion King. I was just plain ****ed off about that and couldn't wait for Simba to grow up and return the favor. -

A teardrop or two at the end of my second time with Vanilla Sky. I remember The Green Mile being quite emotional aswell. It's not a movie, but I completed Cowboy Bebop once again a couple of days ago and I think I shed a few tears at the end. It's just beautiful. I'm not sure if I cried or almost cried on these relatively new movies: The Butterfly Effect and Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind. Anyhow, I recommend all these movies (and the CB series).

When I was about 7 or 8, I remember getting pretty upset at Optimus Prime's passing in Transformers: The Movie.
Around the same time, there were also a few tears shed when Number 5 was seemingly blown up in Short Circuit. I have to say that, when the real Number 5 appeared in the truck right at the end, I felt pretty damn stupid.
But in terms of a more complete spectrum of emotions, my first prize goes to The Neverending Story. Pity for Bastian, sadness for Atreyu when he lost Artax in the swamps, trembling fear for both G'mork and the Sphinxes, while the Empress was probably my first crush.
That's all mid-80s though, of course. Nothing from a more recent time comes to mind, however.

That I have to agree with, Battlefield Earth is the worst film in history, period. Shame on John Travolta, shame, shame, shame.
But I can't say that any film has made me cry, not trying to be tough or anything, it just doesn't get to me that easily. Or maybe I just haven't seen any of the right films yet

Last Night
I saw the film a couple of years ago, and I will freely admit I sat there, looking out of my window, and then systematically called most of my friends, just to make sure everything was alright.
Grave of the fireflies
Probably the most moving film I have seen to date. It's anime, but not in the BESM style, nothing really supernatural in it either. It just gets under your skin, and then gets more and more depressing. Man that one had me feeling very small and lonely at the end.
Endscenes of Gladiator had me getting a bit of the good ol' lump in the throat as well. Dunno why, I guess it's the sheer amount of epicness in it.
Neverending story (some years ago), where Atreju's horse drowns in the mud.

"What Dreams May Come", definately a good movie and tear jerker.
I had forgotten about B5, the character development was excellent and the story used it well.
Many other saddening/tearjerking movies for me but Im horrible with titles/names.

Junior made me cry.
Because I spent 7 dollars just to see Arnold Schwarzeneggar become a pregnant artfag.

Edited by: Lonely Joe on 04/04/2005 19:06:12 I can't stand dramatic death of a hero movies. The part where the others are tearing up while seeing the hero die of agony in bed.
But the worst show I cried on was watching "The Hulk" with that split screen shooting junk and keeping the hulkman in the dark for long periods. They ruined that movie I swear to you.
Was gonna watch 10.5 from Sci|Fi weekend, but that sucked with the split screen terror too.

Finding Neverland Saving Private Ryan (at the end) and lastly, The Patriot with Mel Gibson. The part where his little girl talks to him for the first time on the beach. Lack of preparation on your part does not constitute greifing on mine |

these 2 treated me quite nasty. lilja4ever the pianist Nuremberg
and last but not least Taigukgi
this movie pretty much beats saving private ryan in every aspect. Very tragic and worth watching. Last minutes of the movie were very dramatic.
Here, Only the silent survive.

Independence Day Armageddon Pearl Harbor
made my cry for my mommy, I cried for days because those were quite possibly the worst movies ever made.
I know there were several movies that really moved me... but for the life of me I can't remember.

Superman (Christopher Reeve 4tw)
The part where Lois died and he has to pull her out of the buried car (before he superspeeds around the Earth to turn back time and save her of course)
Just his expression and the "super" loud yell of anguish.
Brought a tear to me eye

Any film where a dog dies. Saving Private Ryan thrilled me, I was unmoved by Schindler's List, but god forbid someone kick a dog.

The Green Mile was a real tricky one not to with though, it just piled injustice upon injustice without really ever letting up. A truly great film.

I'm sitting here racking my brains cos at one point when i hit my mid 20's i was blubbing at everything (guess it must of been the effects of a decade of substance abuse), seriously thou i think i even welled up at starwars at one point despite having seen it godknows how many times. However i think the only 3 which really stick in my mind are Rainman, shawshank redemption and watership down
