First day. Helped kill The Mittani. Inquired about FCing. Spammed forums.
Second day: got blown up by people we were dishonorably blobbing. Attacked a Thrasher head on with my Merlin and got dishonorably blobbed by him and his friends. (Note to self: fleet engagements go better if you have a fleet). Spammed forums.
Going well so far. Come join us in our epic adventures. |

Well that was cool. I joined a frigate roam but as they had already left I tagged along in the ship I happened to be flying which was a stealth bomber. Then I bumbled about a bit being scouty, bit like a fatter James Bond and suddenly! - spaceships! I had landed in the middle of the bad guys but hadn't decloaked. Everyone else warped to me and killed them all, including the famous FC Elo Knight.
Shortly after Goons crashed the party and we had a three way and everyone else except for a couple of us died. I scouted for some guy's pod, being really careful and using perches. We get to our home system and I type wait as he types kthxbai. Then I type WIAT as he types oops. He lands in the middle of 25 blinky red talwars and mashes dock and gets in just before they blow him up.
Definitely having a good time here. |

Time for an update on what it's like flying with Corporate Scum.
We just did an op with titans. Some Black Legion guy had a Thanatos carrier in a pos but some bros had managed to agress it. That meant he had a timer when he couldn't log off, although he was safe as long as the pos shields protected him. However the pos it was hiding in was vulnerable. So we undocked, got to a titan in a staging system, bridged across half a region and melted the tower then blew up his thantos and a hauler. I tried to loot the modules but they were too big for me to steal with my Oracle (I love our ffa loot policy!)
We used titan doomsdays to speed up the killing and they look spectacular. It's the second time I've been on the field with titans fighting since I joiined a couple of weeks ago so rumours that they just sit around bridging people seem to be exaggerated. We used them in a massive battle on saturday which ended with a very exciting sprint to try to save a tackled supercarrier that some bad guys had awoxed. (Awoxing means pretending to be a friendly but then killing, or arranging for the killling of blues). We didn't make it in time but I was there in my little Exequror thinking I would be rescuing him when he was in deep structure!
So there's lots of action and it's on an epic scale. Now you may be thinking "but I can't fly a titan what use would I be?" Well most of us can't but the coalition is extremely newbie friendly and frigates are welcome on every fleet except for when an uncloaked/probable frigate would give away our position. We also use Tech 1 cruisers a lot and there's a talwar doctrine so lots of action for low skill point players.
It's also pretty easy to make money. We have free for all loot in most pvp actinos - I've looted over 100 million estimated value so far while pvping. We have very open rules on ratting salvage and most ratters are cheerful about letting people help themselves. Blood raiders give really good salvage because they're basically amarr and have more expensive, mineral heavy, loot than most other races.
There's never been a better time to take the step into the land of real adventure. Screw missions, come play in the sandbox! |

Woot! I just won a competition in corp the person getting the 1000th kill this month got 100 million isk and that was me!
I've been FCing in our coalition's FC boot camp programme and have run 3 fleets now. I'm flying all sorts of subcap ships in pvp - frigs, destroyers, cruisers, bcs and battleships. I just got a really pro tackle on a jag with my dual rep incursus and we killed it.
So what's in store for you if you join? Well we have one of the best areas for exploration in the game which should make Odyssey pretty exciting. We have good mining and ratting space. We have a ton of pvp going on but it's all opt-in and for us grunts/low level types it's a load of laughs. Think it's more like hard work if you get important but fortunately you won't have to do that and nor will I.
So come give it a try. I was just chatting to a friend in low sec who was really bored and he's decided to join us. I haven't been bored since I joined (except maybe once on a very long structure shoot). |

OK another week and still having a blast. On Friday we got hold of some pos password and went to check it out. Turned out it was full of miners so we stole some of their ships and bumped some out of the pos and shot them. While giggling. Then a big angry mob of bombers came and killed us - shortcut home and a massively fun op.
Done several other fleets of various sizes and got some good encounters.
Today though we met Agony. When I started Eve 4 years ago Agony were already legends, pvp masters who taught (and still teach) newer players how to play. We were in a mostly frigate gang with merlins, a scythe, a dictor and me in a Bantam plus a couple of others. Agony came in with 4 and brawled us out-numbered.
Now this was pretty amazing for me because these are the guys who wrote the manual on how to pvp in this game and here we are fighting them.
We popped their Griffin and they shot someone but the scythe and me just repped him so they started seriously bullying the scythe. Webbed to a crawl, unable to self-rep I was burning my little shield transporters but couldn't keep him up. Pop! Uh oh, I thought now we're in trouble. Especially me in the last logi.
I must have been a bit far off though or they forgot what a Bantam is because they tried three different primaries but couldn't get past my reps. Had everyone locked up and watchlisted and was swapping like a boss. The gang burned them down and their survivors warped off.
I know we out-numbered them and had logi but we beat Agony. Frikkin Agony! (And I stole all the loot that dropped while the rest of the gang were still a bit dazed).
It's really pretty awesome to fly against the type of pvpers that most Eve players only get to read about. |

I've been FCing fleets and to make it more fun I asked my corp for sponsors, got 180 million which is enough for half a dozen Fed Navy Comets and then started running police themed frigate roams. These are great fun and people have got quite into the light roleplay of it. I'll say things like there's a four eleven in progress at the junction of NOL and PR tack, all units proceed to destination and off we go looking for people to fight.
Here's my after action report on the roam I led tonight. We raced all over Fountain looking for trouble and we certainly found it!
Quote:Fleet was slightly late starting due to a defensive fleet against a Darkness. T3 cruiser gang, Pizza gang DnD gang all around NOL-FWST area. Police roam was unable to engage these fleets due to a lack of supporting SWAT teams. So when we did form we proceeded to Fountain. Fleet patrolled as far as 3WE when an Algos was spotted in pursuit of an act of criminal trespass. A trap was set on the 4-E gate but suspect eluded capture and got into warp. All units engaged in hot pursuit finally apprehending suspect in DB-. http://eve-kill.net/...kll_id=17145592http://eve-kill.net/...kll_id=17145884We then proceeded in an orderly but swift mannner to YZ- where we apprehended an Enyo who was caught red-handed committing unspeakable crimes against innocent space goats. http://eve-kill.net/...kll_id=17146474Unfortunately our lawful and righteous arrest attracted the attention of other members of his criminal gang who attempted to waylay our heroic officers. We valorously defeated a Tempest but several officers gave their lives to bring him to justice. Tempest kill: http://eve-kill.net/...kll_id=17145961Battle report: http://eve-kill.net/...kll_id=17145961Their sacrifice will be remembered. This time picking the Most Valued Officer was super hard. Navicerts did some great work scouting for us. JubbadahuT and Nordika put out great deeps. Arlaya DuSharpe got a fantastic tackle on the Algos and its pod and held point on the other two ships. And Hiu Dark got the kills on the Tempest and the Enyo and tackled the Enyo. The only possible decision considering we had two such outstanding contributions from Arlaya and Hiu was to award two prizes. Grats to the winners! Great job everyone!

The war for Delve is in full swing. It's hard to move 2 jumps without finding a fight.
The vast majority of nullsec is empty empty space occasionally broken by a glimpse on D scan of a POSed up Machariel.
Delve is talwars, Delve is Ruptures, Delve is bombers, Delve is titan drive-bys, Delve is battles.
If you're CEO of a corp looking for a quiet place to become spacerich go anywhere but Delve. If you're a ballsy player who wants action action action in ships provided by the corp or reimbursed by the alliance join SEDNA.
Got convoed by a PL FC yesterday asking us to go fight him. Didn't win but had a blast fighting him and we killed a couple of them. That's Pandemic Legion, top pvp alliance in the game, asking SEDNA for fights. It's mental down here.
My CEO said this yesterday:

Let's give interested players some idea of our military thoughts.
First, our pvp is opt-in and you can log on and mine while the rest of us are fleeted up off shooting people if that's your bag. Most people do choose to come because the fleets are really good fun and we don't pvp all the time so you're not likely to burn out.
As renters we don't really have a stake in sov war. If our region were to be invaded we'd probably go out shooting the neuts because they're neuts and because it's possible to get a lot of good kills around the fringes of other people's big fights. But we don't really have a horse in the race and if our current landlords lose sov we'll likely make overtures to the new owner.
We do have our own objectives and our own style of pvp. We want our players to be more than F1 monkeys.
Tuesdays is low sec frig pvp day. The idea is to jump clone to a staging point near Faction War and go murder people in plexes for 24 hours. Of course the main customers are other people looking to murder frigates in plexes so it's competitive, high skill, independent piloting pvp that gets people thinking about range control, traversal, ship manoeuvres etc.
Mind Games is the latest pvp video from STSLight, our low sec frig-fighting expert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eMREOGOtCM
Fridays is our roam night. Our CEO has run Friday night roams for years now and we've had some epic adventures. Probably battlecruisers.
I run some small fleets throughout the week. The focus is on fighting outnumbered so we're building our experience of using either nano or snipers or bombers to give us an edge against a larger force.
We're aiming to get most people into Dreads and to aggressively deploy them. This is a mid-term goal: 6 months to a year off. We'll lose a fair few dreads most likely getting good at that.
As a SEDNA pilot your first priority should be to secure your income stream. For most people that's ratting in anomalies and/or PI but we also have ice and mining etc. Once you are able to fund yourself your next priority should be to get involved in the low sec frigate pvp. The corp subsidises ships so it costs very little, it's fun, intense and very instructive.
After that we'll want you to fly the correct battlecruiser or tech 2 logi ships in our null sec roam doctrines. I've been fighting quite a ferocious battle against people's tendency to want to bring random ships - I had an oracle fleet yesterday where someone brought along a Geddon and got killed because he was fat and slow and went AH HA! So we will be trying to get you into the right ship with the right fit, basically keep your pvp ships separate and don't pvp in your ratter or hangar trash.
Once you're competent with a battlecruiser we'll want you to get up to speed with a bomber. Bombers are the ultimate ship for fighting out-numbered as even a very small number can make a big impact on a much larger foe.
After that we'd be looking to get you working towards cap ships : carriers and dreads. For most players saving for those will mean doing a lot of ratting, we'll still take you out pvping and want you to keep your edge but you should expect to run a lot of anoms.
By this stage your extensive pvp experience and our open discussions of tactics and issues should make you something of an expert. You'll be well-equipped to FC a small gang and we'll support you if you want to try that.
At some point the politics of our corp may change. We've gone from a ferociously active pvp corp in a large nullsec alliance to a very independent renter-based small gang pvp corp. Will we still be renters in 6 months? Well possibly not on our mains but the plan is to always keep this system for our ratters and PI and miners so we never have the horrible chore of moving again.
I would commend SEDNA to you because I think it's a really good balance between PVE and PVP. We're doing really well with pvp and the pve seems sorted. Living in the back end of nowhere we rarely see a neut.
We're looking for people who will talk to us on Teamspeak, get involved with our fleets and roams but doesn't feel a need for perfection or tryharding. Sometimes we'll all be ratting, half-afk watching a movie. We expect you to be self-critical, to be trying to improve, to be looking to be a skilful player. We hope that having you join our corp will cause you to enjoy the game more and will cause us to enjoy the game more. PtolemaiosPlato Solomon wrote:I am in the Eve universe since 2006. But at the end, it looks like I have finally outlived the corporations I had the honor to be a member of. Seeking new fresh life, I quest for a place where the stars are still shining.
I am a loyal and silent player. Despite the fact that I am now on my way to have nearly finished all skills for the dreadnought and go for the skills of the titan, I actually hate PVP a lot. I prefer hunting rats in a group, they are more predictable and the losses are less.
I also fly the Gallente Freighter. But my real strength, and passion, are mining ops (ore, gas, ice) and POS management. I already had my own POS in the past. I decided for an own POS for that I can do my own research, reactions and construction. And it was nice to have my very own place in space. I also like explorations in groups.
My time zone is GMT-5 (Kingston, Jamaica), I speak English and German (I am from Berlin in Germany but live in the Caribbean).
I want a corporation that has at least 50 ACTIVE members, and which is since a good long time stable in their deep space system(s). The age of the players should be 20 upwards (mature players), and the corp should have a strong ability to defend as I don't like to see myself on the run and lose things. And I cannot afford to see the corporation dying as I don't like to have too many corporation employments on my biography. Please be fair and contact me only if your corp is truly qualified to my expectations (and if I qualify to your expectations). Simply contact me ingame. Thanks.
PVP in SEDNA is optional and always will be but that said it dominates conversation a lot. No one will object to you doing your own thing but you will hear a lot of pvp chatter.
We do have regular mineral and ice mining ops. We don't have gas in our area. We rent one system which is the only place in N3 space we're allowed to mine minerals and rat. We're permitted to mine ice in other systems.
We permit and even encourage people to set up private POSes. We are nowhere close to running out of moons so it should be ok for you to have several POSes. You won't get a metal moon (R8 or higher) but may find some R4s if you're lucky. Our system is busy and we will offer a good defence against siphons.
We have around 20 active members but are very busy recruiting. 50 actives is a realistic short term goal. We have very low turnover as people who join really like the corp.
Our space is very secure. We rent from NC. who are part of the N3 coalition and who form a bloc with PL. The only way we could lose sov is if N3/PL (currently the biggest super fleet in the game) lose their space and are unable to reconquer it. Even then for us all it would mean, most likely, is that we negotiate a fresh deal with a new landlord and stay living here.
We rat by running anoms in our system. It's not worth running escalations as drone escalations are broken - they give T2 salvage as loot and the market was tanked by Odyssey. You could if you wish belt rat for a slim chance of an officer drone - if you loot an officer drone damage amp you could pretty much name your price as I believe none have ever been offered on the open market and they're good for AT team flagships. Anoms are either soloed or run in small groups. We have a rule that people are allowed to warp into a site and join someone who is already there (unlike most of nullsec where first person in an anom gets to solo the site).
We also have secondary ratting options which we don't discuss in public.
Corp language is English but we do have at least one German.
We're probably a good option for you although a little smaller than you specify. It's very unlikely we'll get chased out of our space and we have excellent connections to the wider N3 and Northern Associates communities.
