Hi,
I am about to do my first solo lvl 4 mission and I peaked this morning to see what mission it would be. Its the infested ruines mission. What can I expect to find in that mission?
Multiple stages, type of drones, how many drones at warp in etc. Can someone please inform me about this?
thnx Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

Edited by: Joshua Foiritain on 25/03/2005 12:24:03 4 Cruise missile sentries with Thermal damage will agro you, bring 2 thermal hardeners and these will become a joke.
Use a raven with the following mids: 1x XL Shield boost, 1x Shield Boost Amp, 2x Thermal HArdener, 1x Em and 1 Kinetic.
First spawn will agro you at 40/50 km away when you pop the sentries, mostly small drones that will die really fast.
All the way to the left theres more of these drones.
In the center theres 1 supreme drone and a few small ones.
Overall its a walk in the park, nice mineral rewards though. The Infested Ruins take a while to kill, shoot last since it will agro the entire complex on you. ---------------------------

It's one of the easier lvl4 missions. Personally I don't like it, if only because drones are annoying and don't drop anything exciting. Don't get swarmed. Stay at range. Oggle the kick-ass looking lesser hive. Wonder what the hell a greater hive would look like.
I don't think anything scrambles you, and drones (with the notable exception of the Supreme Drone Parasite which is a BS) don't really deal much damage. However, IF a drone is coming at you at a speed greater than 600m/s it's probably a scrambler, so take it out quick (just in case). ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar! Enjoy your worthless gun! |

You are aware that those alloys the drones drop refine into about 10 mil in minerals.? Thats why those missions are my favourites.

There are 2 types of this mission, first one is the lesser ruins which have the cruise missile launchers. The second is the full on infested ruins which has 2 stages but no missile launchers.
Bane torps work best for the domi drones..

this mission is a joke if your in a ship able to tank a bit of dmg while dishing out some dmg as well(like a raven )
just shoot the hive itself, kill the scrambler frigs if nesesary and warp out once the hive explodes :P
all the drones in this mission are slow, bar a very few who does almost insignificant dmg, so if you can tank 4 sentry's and a parasite for a few minutes, it shouldnt be hard Spelling errors ahoy.. |

You are aware that there is a difference between refine and recycle.
Minerals refine.
Components recycle.
these alloys recycle from the reprocessing plant making them COMPONENTS and not minerals. if they were minerals ment for refining then you would be able to "right click" "refine" right from your items hanger.
You can not right click and refine, should be a big clue that you might NOT want too do that.
Now lets think about that for a moment.
Lets see what's happened in the past.
Hmmmmmm tech two was hinted about then all of a sudden the missions started dropping tech two building components. Nobody could use them at the time, people assumed they were for tech two building and were right. When they first started to appear everyone recycled them for the fancy uber minerals.
Is this starting to sound familiar ..... it should.
So what happened when tech two finally got here. not much cuz everyone recycled all them fancy components that were now needed in piles.
people stopped recycling components.
so here we are about a year later.........
the missions are starting to drop a "new component" that recyles into fancy minerals.........
nobody knows what they are for, nothing was hinted at. people are recycling them regularly for the uber minerals ......
is this sounding familiar, it should.
anyone else have the idea that maybe just possibly these might be needed for TECH THREE BUILDING COMPONENTS.
I'd bet they are.
So even though they might be nicely "recyclable now"
what's gonna happen when you find they are wort 10 times what they recycle too. Boy oh boy I bet a lot of people gonna be mad they recycled them once we find out what the alloys will be used for.
Tech 3 just seems right, tech 3 is slated for Kali. yes far off but still. Those that are saving those alloys will most likely reap some hugh rewards once they come into play.

Except they are listed in the market category 'Refinables', which would kind of imply that refining is exactly what they are meant for...

ahhhhh cool.
I never looked for them in market or tried to sell. i been trying to go with the "refine half save half"
crapo, I was hoping for something more than the refine click feature. Thanks for that bit oh market info.

Kill from the smallest to the biggest. Don't hit the bs first.
The quickest way to reduce the damage you take it to kill the easiest things first.

U do realize the catagory name for these drone alloys/compounds is "Refinables" right?

I love this mission, the alloys and compounds dropped have allowed me to build 6 Battleships since I started doing level 4 missions in the New year. I still have to buy the low end minerals like Trit and Pyerite, but nearly everything else comes from these drones.

people stopped recycling components. quote
People stopped recycling Tech 2 components because when they were first released many did contain Zyd&mega, which ccp then changed, therefor reducing there recycled value.

I said they don't drop anything exciting, not that they don't drop anything valuable. Loot is exciting. I don't know what I'm going to get. Alloys are teh suxxor. I never bother picking them up. Missions give me enough ISK/are boring enough without wasting time going around collecting shinies.
Not that I ever pick up 'normal' loot either, but... meh... ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar! Enjoy your worthless gun! |
