Surely it can't be hard for the GMs to access the kill mail and see what was destroyed from that?
Signed even though I haven't lost a ship from server issues yet
this things you get replaced, but not things which landed in the can

Quote: This is a petition, that means if you agree reply with that you agree if you don't please don't reply... its not a discussion if you feel the need for a discussion make a different thread.
So basically, you want everyone to agree with you or shut up? No.
There's a reason for that policy, and its pretty obvious. Server crash or not, if you give back all the items, you're basically duplicating them. Lost 6 navy sieges in a server crash? Now you have 12! Someone else got them, eh? There's still 6 more navy launchers in the game that appeared out of nowhere.
No thanks, the current replacement policies are fine. CCP have mainained their line on this matter for a long time to minimize the mis-use of customer support (minus the post-exodus mass-ship reimbursement), and the only thing we need is better logs like you mentioned, not GMs handing out ships left and right. -

Actually, the logging is unnecessary... keeping a copy of all official kill/death mails would solve the problem completely - assuming that the kill mails were modified to include non-destroyed items in their case and not those involved in the kill.
I agree that, especially in cases like the one I suffered, where I was unable to retrieve the can (I had a mission bug where I was facing a Raven and two Spider Drone II's on an important level 2 deadspace mission), they should replace the whole load.
Where a server crashes, I would suggest that each server crash would reduce the amount of equipment replaced and the proportion of the ship cost (or insurance cost would be better here). This is because it's a no-brainer that you don't do missions while the server is unstable (or as in this case events to the same effect). As for replacing losses in earnings, I would be hesitant to agree with this idea - how do you determine whether or not you lost earnings? I had 2 ships I wanted to get home to and get on sale... it's possible that I would have sold both during that time or would have sold none... When hauling cargo, it'd be hard not to prove that the destination you were headed to would not have had its buy order filled by another player...
I would say -
Equipment fully replaced due to bugs/1st/2nd server crash - *signed* Equipment replaced for doing missions while server is unstable - NOT SIGNED Loss of Earnings - NOT SIGNED.
I say the second, since the first might have been a fluke... 2 is enough excuse for people to ignore the mission after that (although they might be able to argue the replacement of the mission bonus after a multiple crash).

signed.
i also had this problem last night. Half my items were in the can. and half were on the ship. Im now down 500 mill in named items.
Thank you very much CCP.
I totally now feel like cancelling subscription its one thing to loose items down to PVP or mistakes on my part. but another to loose weeks worth of gameplay down to silly policies.
This needs to be changed.

End of the day if it's lost to a bug, put in a petition, get what you can back and move on. These things happen, it's only some mods and isk, easily replaceable if you take the time to work at it.
Simple fact is don't fly what you cannot eaily afford to replace. So even if you *do* loose things to a bug then you aren't so bad off.

Enough with the crybabbies.
CCP's replacement policy is the best there is. If you can't afford to lose stuff, fly in shuttles (fully insured, of course).
The only thing your whining will achieve is to take the replacement policy out, so everybody will be screwed in all situations.
Move along.
