Greetings all!
An Ex-Tusker, I Legionnaire is in the process of quitting the game due to RL reasons and has donated ~13B worth of ISK & ships to use to encourage new players to try out PvP. 3B of this ISK will be used as prizes for a Frigate FFA open to the entire Eve Community. The remainder will be used to hand out monthly prizes, but that's for another time & place.
The rules for this event are simple - if you're interested in seeing & participating in the making of many explosions, come to Jovainnon on Saturday the 27th October from 20:00 to 24:00 Evetime and engage anything that lands on grid with you, including your alliance mates, blues & corpmates - they are ALL fair game.
A multitude of prizes will be available, ranging from Tech 1 Frigates to Faction Battleships, as well as a few oddballs thrown in there for good measure. Neither the list of prizes or their associated requirements to achieving them will be told until after the end when the winners are announced, in order to prevent people trying to game the contest rather than simply slaughtering everything they find (or not....). Note that the best prizes will only be available for young characters (for this purpose, these are defined as characters who are less than 1 year old). Prizes will be contracted in Jita to the winners within 48 hours of the tournament ending, ideally I'll have finished this straight after the event.
There are a few restrictions in place to ensure everyone has a good time, namely.....
- No link alts allowed - any detected will be found & destroyed, with their main being excempt from receiving any prizes.
- Intentionally teaming up with someone else is not allowed - FFA stands for Free For All!
- No podding of other participants
- ONLY Tech 1 Frigates are allowed until 22:00, after which time Faction & Tech 2 Frigates can be used (including Pirate Faction).
- You are allowed to warp off, but you can't warp to safe spots or stargates, hence you need to carry a disruptor or scrambler to prevent the enemy from escaping!
- No cloaks are permitted.
- Reshipping is allowed and encouraged - stock up on ships beforehand! We may have some hulls available, but not the modules.
- ECM is disallowed, both in the form of the drones or modules.
We will be giving out our Mumble server details just before the event kicks off if you want to chat with us whilst we (and you!) are dying gloriously.

What exactly are the prizes or the method you plan to use to determine who gets anything? The restrictions you are placing seem difficult to manage.

Mostly ship hulls at the moment, although that could change. There are multiple ways to get prizes - some of them are fairly standard (most kills, most losses etc.) but there are a fair few bizarre ones thrown in. As for monitoring them, I have an idea..... |

I assume there must be a list of participants.
 Ummm I don't know what you mean when you say warping away is allowed but not to a 'safe spot'...
What's considered a safe spot?  |

No registration, you just show up. :)
"Safe spots" are bookmarks you create mid warp, away from any stuff that can be warped to by other pilots. Using combat probes is usually the only way to reach another player sitting in a safe spot.

Going to give this a go, never tried any sort of PvP before so should be fun, only got/can afford t1 frigs at the moment but I doubt I'll be there beyond the first couple of hours anyway, lol |

Just update your clone and spend a few mill on T1 frigs and you will have some great fun mate. If your that new i may even give you some tips if they are needed :)

havent done any pvp in eve. just pve. i have no experience at all in my 1 yr game time. havent use frigs at all really. last time was a batham for mining :P
hopefully i can manage the massive time difference timings :D
i will try my best any way
thanks for offering this, it helps broaden the scope of eve players who are just focused on non pvp work like myself. |

i noticed when i hauled a bunch of frigs there for myself that there weren't any available to purchase in that system.. is the a freighter of stuff going there for us to buy when we run out or something like that? |

so, if I join this, and my ship gets blown up, would the payout be high enough to get a new one, plus a good fitting? cause Its kinda my last ship. I had an omen, and a vengeance, and a couple other billion ships. but they are all dead now, and I only have a punisher. so, if I cant get enough money to get some more mid fight... well, I am screwed. |

A big Thank You! to I Legionnaire and you for setting this up. I'm a 7 month player that has only done PVP when someone catches and kills me while i'm doing something else lol. This is going to be fun.
I have a couple of accounts. The characters have trained in different racial ships. Is it ok to have both as long as they are not in the game at the same time? |

Ships will be provided, both the hulls + Tech 1 fittings. All you have to do is ask and we'll give you one. This is to prevent someone from buying them all in one go.

Hehe wish I could, I only got 1.2mil ISK, spent 2 getting that one and outfitting it.

This is an amazing idea and I'm jealous that we didn't think of it. We love newbros and frigate thunderdomes more than just about anything else.
