Just a quick question
will ccp team be bringing out the snowball launchers again for this winter.
loved shooting missioners with them only to watch them get owned by concord :). |

I still have my old melted snowballs and the launcher. Shame I missed the Christmas event back then as my parents didn't have broadband when I went home for Christmas. Would love some Mk MMXII's and it's pretty low hanging fruit for a crowd pleaser.

Upgraded (meta level 1) pea sized snowball
Limited (meta level 2) Fist size snowball *no i dont care how big your fist is
Experimental (meta level 3) Elephant sized snowball (full grown)

Technically, no.
Temperature is a function of the how fast the atoms and molecules in an object or gas are moving. Vacuum is not itself inherently cold - in fact it can't be said to have temperature at all. The occasional particle that you do run into in space is zipping along fast enough to qualify as having a temperature of several thousand kelvin.
As a matter of fact, the bigger problem in space is keeping a ship nice and cool. The only way it can lose heat is through radiating it as infrared, which is spectacularly inefficient. The heat of all the people and electronics inside your average spacecraft can't escape very quickly, with the result that if you're not careful it just builds and builds and builds...
Mass Effect got that last part very right, btw. if you ever read the lore of the setting, they go to pretty extreme lengths to dump heat.
