I must say there are alot of kits to put on the ship. Everyone has there own idea. I am a Cerb pilot and have lost 3 ship in pvp, each time about 7 ships locking me down. They can be made to tank well up to a point, but the damage they can do is is too low to be considered against other ships in the game. Yes it needs a little love to be a better ship. most of the kits I have seen on here are not that good to be honest, but everyone has there own style, including me. Cerb cannot kill an ass frig or a int that has his ship kitted correctly, or the time it takes to kill it is way too long.
While the Cerb can tank a lvl 8 plex solo and tank any npc spawn in the game, there is much room for improvement considering what the other HAC's can do. In the PvP arena the cerb is the weakest of all the HAC's. Aslo, killing frigs is very hard to do unless you have range on your side to start with.
I did manage to kill Painball solo(Vagabond) while tanking a npc spawn for some miners a while back but was left with 80% armor. The fight was at about 15 km and I only started shooting him when he was right on top of me. This was the first time I had got to PvP with my cerb since the new skills came out. After looting his T2 kit I found 2 stabs. If he did not have those and I would have started shooting him sooner I am not sure who would have won. Since then I have modified my kit and have not got a chance to kill him again. The Vag's speed is is crazy. The only thing I will say about skills is that I have HAC lvl 5. There is no good or evil in the universe only POWER!

lol why u need 3 capchargers? 1 Hardener 1 800mm Plate 1 Cap Power Relay
With this you can tank your friend forever, just stay within 5km, your webber is for fast frigs/drones slow em down so your friend can hit them too with torps. You have some backup of your own with the armor tank. you can take a bit but not much.
But whatever you do dont use this solo, my guess is that you will get owned pretty quick. But for supporting it would be much appreciated, you'll be able to repair about 2000 armor points per minute.
Best part, the whole thing can be normal stuff so nothin expensive, but i would definetly fit named launchers and the best remote medium remote armor.

I was thinking of something similar. But with T2 Assaults, and a boost amp in place of the AB. Can anyone work out the DOT? But I guess the missile changes in RMR will improve things a bit.

Well post RMR i just love the Cerb!!
My NPC Setup:
5 Heavy Launcher II 1 Medium E50 Nos
1 10MN AB II 1 Large C5-L SB 1 Sensorbooster II 2 Passive Hardener II (NPC spec.)
3 BCU II 1 WCS
The RoF post RMR dropped almost 1,5s. RoF is now 4,81s and my passive resists are huge with the new Shield Compensation skills. I could take the RoF further down if i go crazy on the Heavy Spec. skill. Ganks all BS up to 2,0M and after that im having a hard time breaking their tank. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. My set-up:
Hi: 5 x Heavy Launcher II's 1 x Med named NOS
Med: 1 x Med Shield Booster II 1 x Sensor Booster II 1 x Large shield extener II 1 x Named EM hardener 1 x Afterburner II
Low: 2 x BCS I 2 x Power Diag II
What a great ship. :) You'll need some major skills to fit all this, but it works.

ok first let me just say that that Number one....you CAN kill frigs fast. very fast. even with heavy missiles. all you need is the skills.
I can fire 1 light missile every second with a t1 setup. (before people flame me, i cant use t2 yet) base damage on them is 140. so thats 140 dps against frigs. now please tell me if a ceptor will beat that? btw my missiles go more than 2X the speed of normal ones. eg. They can catch ceptors, they can damage them, and they go down fast. Assault frig? rinse and repeat. all i need to do is tank whilst they attack. And thats with light missiles with a range of 74km thankyou. Heavies i have a range of 145, damage of 280. Ya need to know what the ship can do before posting comments like that. ya'll just get flamed ureself lol.
On a side note, people have been commenting on having a hypnos multi on the cerb. Anyone got a decent setup to include this? really wondering how this is all done

Midslots: 1x T2 10MN Afterburner or MWD 1x T2 Sensor Booster 1x T2 Auto Targeting System 2x T2 Magnetic Scattering Amplifiers (Just to waste slots)
Lowslots: 4x T2 BCS
»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» Tanking NPC rats:
Hislots: 5x T2 Heavy Launchers 1x T2 Med Nos or T2 Med Smartbomb (Of your choice, pref plasma)
Midslots: 1x T2 Med Shield Booster 1x Invulnerability Field (T2 if you can find one.) 1x Large Shield Extender 2x T2 Magnetic Scattering Amplifiers
Lowslots: 1x T2 BCS 2x T2 PDU 1x T2 Shield Flux Coil
»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» For PVP:
Hislots: 2-4x T2 Heavy Launchers (It's a matter of taste and what you expect to be up against. More intys and small ships, less heavy launchers. And vice versa.) 1-3x T2 Assault Launchers (Or 'Arbalest' if you ain't got skills.) 1x T2 Med Nos
Medslots: 1x T2 Large Shield Booster 1x T2 Photon Scattering Field 1x Named Warp Disruptor or Scrambler 1x Named Webber 1x T2 Magnetic Scattering Amplifier
Lowslots: 1-2x T2 BCS 2-3x T2 PDU 0-1x WCS (The lowslots are hard, some people feel unease flying without a WCS, so...)
This PVP setup is made to not let anyone flee. If they come into your range, they should die. And die hard they should!

Best NPC Setup I know:
HIGH: 5x Dread Guristas Heavy Launchers, 1x Whatever ya like
MED: Gist X-Type Large SB, 2x large Extender II's, 1x Estamels Invul Field, 1x Estamels EM Hardener
LOW: 2x Dread BCU, 2x Sanshas PDU's
Quite pricey, but solos all level 4's with this. Tanks about anything PvE can throw at you. ________________________________________

Edited by: Radeberger on 23/01/2006 16:26:20 My setup for farming lvl 3's (it's easy and fast) Low: 5 Arbalest heavies, 1 tractor beam
Med: 10MN AB II, Large shield booster II, Invulnerability field II, 1 Photon Scattering field II(55%)(or the kinetic one if against guristas) and 1 cap recharger II
Low: 2 BCS II's, 1 PDS II and 1 Internal Force Field Array I (named damage control)
In this setup i can do the lvl 3 missions relatively fast because i can kill and loot at the same time
EDIT: I might add that my resistances are: 70.6% EM, 75.2% Exp, 81.4% Kin and 87.6% Therm

When you post something like this all you're doing is telling EVERYONE that you don't own a Cerberus. There is NO WAY you can fit one large SB and two large shield extenders... try doing the maths before trying to show off.
EDIT: Also, I need to add something on this. This wouldn't solo ****, why? Because you'd have ZERO cap after like notime. Running a large SB, an invul field and a normal hardener would drain the cap so fast. You'd be dead before you know what happend. Once again, do some maths. »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» Midfrost Imperial Senate Fleet Commodore of the Heavy Assault Division

Denrace's setup is close to what I ran last night for fun, works pretty damn well.
5 T2 Heavies 10MN AB II, 2 Invuln Field II, 2 named Large Shield Extenders 2 BCU II, 2 PDU II
Now ok - it was only a lvl 3, but Gurista's Extravaganza, Bonus stage, tanked the BS, 5 Cruisers, 3 frigs and 5 Sentry towers without shield dropping below 79%.
Gotta try it against something tougher me thinks. The alt fit is to swap one of the extenders out for a shield booster (Think the large T2 still fits)

Alright, so, let's do some basic maths.
Everything in these calculations are made of T2 stuff, the difference between named and T2 isn't worth mentioning.
The basic power output of a Cerberus is 635 MW. I've taken into account the two PDU's. Both at -5%.
1x Large Shield Booster = 148,90 MW 2x Large Shield Extenders = 297,80 MW 5x Heavy Launchers = 473,80 MW 1x (Whatever) Medium Nosferatu = 180,50 MW 1x Invulnerability Field = 0,90 MW 1x EM Hardener = 0,90 MW 2x BCS = 1,80 MW
So, let's multiply these figures. And OHHH!, whadda ya'know! It ended up at 1104,6 MW. Now, that's chocking...
And, as I said above, the difference between named and normal gear isn't worth mentioning. You'd still be atleast 100-150 MW above the "limit". »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» Midfrost Imperial Senate Fleet Commodore of the Heavy Assault Division
