This was going to be a quick post but itGÇÖs gotten rather large. Please forgive the wall of text. Any help is appreciated :)
IGÇÖm quite new to pvp and in need of some good advice/opinions. IGÇÖve recently started doing solo roams and IGÇÖm finding it very hard to get fights. I generally roam around tama, heyd, old man star, and 10-15 other nearby systems looking for frigs and cruisers to shoot at. I usually go hours without finding a single person. The few I do find run away, probably because they are just grinding LP(although I guess there was a change to FW this morning, yes?).
At one point I got bored and decided to suicide and tried to attack a navy comet; the pilot is over 2 years old. IGÇÖm flying a Slasher with T1 modules and not even 2 months old. This guy runs away like IGÇÖm flying something truly deadly. I chase him around for about 20 minutes trying to get a fight, even doing a bit of smack talk in local, but due to my inexperience he continues to elude me. I originally found him in a FW plex so IGÇÖm guessing he must be grinding LP and not fit for pvp. I give up and fly home.
I thought about joining FW but at the time it seemed like a way to make lots of ISK and nothing else, though I suppose today that is being changed, sorta? WhatGÇÖs it like in FW? Are there ample opportunities to cause some kersplosions? I want to log in to EVE and start fighting as soon as possible. I love living in lowsec and taking risks. I really enjoy solo/small gang pvp. The nullsec giant blob scenario isn't for me. Sometimes I just sit at a customs office and say in local GÇ£here I am, hereGÇÖs my fit, come and fight me.GÇ¥ If i get a response it's usually someone accusing me of setting up a trap. It's not a trap! Come kill me! Apparently I have bigger balls than the majority of people in lowsec; at least in the area's I roam.
Would you recommend faction warfare for a new player that's looking for lots of pvp? I don't care about making loads of ISK. I have no problem supporting myself. I want to get blown up. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about PvP and getting out there and fighting is the only effective way to do that.
Some helpful advice would be great. Flames will be ignored. Thanks! |

Not low sec, but there is always Red vs Blue. We are two corps perpetually at war. We usually have small to medium size fleets up constantly, plus people like hippowhisperer who solo constantly. Plus we currently have ample war decs to play with. |

I'd suggest FW, it's a blast and very easy to keep yourself in ISK for new ships. Look around and find a nice active FW corp. Try to avoid solo at first, although it may be alluring it can be very rough. Better to ease yourself into PVP with small gang stuff first. |

My tip would be to learn to use the different statistics in map settings, Kil2 has excellent vid tutorial about it:

Also check out rest of his vids for general pvp tips.
FW is nice for making good isk without having to pve too much. Joining a good group of veteran pvp'ers who do small scale pvp is recommended tho, there are few of those still in FW. Just check militia killboards to find out who those ppl are :)
Red vs Blue might be boring for you if you're already used to lowsec/flying solo... |

Not everyone if faction warefare is a pirate or willing to get one. So by being a neutral it doesn't mean everyone will engage you especially at gates. So getting into one FW site will definatelly make you a much more valid target for a larger set of people.
Furthermore, I am not familiar with the current state of the Gallente / Caldari Zone. But if you are looking for PVP I can advice you to go to the Minmatar / Amarr Zone. At least the last few days there was a lot of action going in in these Systems: Dal, Siside, Kourmonen. Go there into a plex and you will find someone who wants to kill you, for sure. |

1: look at map 2: find tab for kills/hour 3: go to where people are shooting at each other

There are lots of systems not being contested to much, so stick to the front lines for fights, looking at the map I'd fly Akidaigi-Old man star and back, hitting as many high kill systems as possible. |

I like solo pvp and had been doing hisec wardecs on people solo, it was very easy to find kills but it may require a level of experience and isk you do not have.
I recently joined the militia and found fights are very easy to find solo. I found a number of kills using a shield talos and a stabber. I would reccommend joinning the militia and zipping back and forth in busy FW systems and im sure you will encounter lots of people willing to shoot you.
Just try to be wary of fleets and traps people set. Might take you a few deaths before you figure out what to watch for. |

Ted is wise, and really knows his stuff when it comes to soloing. We have a couple of guys that really make their living with it, but you need a certain level of skill to be successful.
Best advice is to hit FW, find a nice active corp or alliance, and get to work. You don't always need to be in fleet ops, it's not quite as serious as nullsec, but you can actually make decent money with just PVP if you're any good.
Just avoid the NPC FW corps. No one trusts those guys. |

Just go in some plex in a not empty system, and someone will show up. Don't wait at gate or station with a positive security status if you want pirates to attack you. |

Join FW. Go and offensive plex in Black Rise. Pew will usually find you - no need to roam around looking.
Still fight if you are only T1 fit. You will be surprised how many times you will win with a cheap fit.
Due to lower fitting requirements the t1 guns or launchers end up freeing pg/cpu for another damage module in the lows. Add faction ammo to that and sometime you will do more dps than a t2 fit.
