Hello
Someone has asked me to clear out a few pirates/griefers in a lowsec system who are making war on the locals.
But its been a while since i pew pewed so i have a few questions for the masses.
Questions for the masses/IT engineers/basment dwellers/unspecified100K a year occupation that is alluded to in your posts when losing an argument.
1. What sec status does a lowsec person have to be before the gate guns will not open fire if i catch them on a gate?
2. If someone is -10 will they still get kill rights on me (i know they cant get into highsec)
2a If they dont get kill rights on me then at what level Sec status does this kick in?
3. Can i pod kill someone with a -10 sec and not have it affect my sec?
Do they get kill rights on me?
My thanks for your answers I dont normally troll, but when i do i do it on General Discussion. |

Gate/station guns won't engage if you attack player with -5 and lower sec status (flashy red). As for kill rights refer this link I am not my skills but... http://eveboard.com/pilot/Schmata_Bastanold |

1. Gate guns will open fire on whoever has a GCC as priority After that i believe its whoever fires first? but i could be wrong on this.
2. Sec status does not effect kill rights.
3. If your -10 podding someone will not do anything to your sec status.
4. If you kill ANYONE that were not considered criminals in LOWSEC they will get kill rights on you.
Criminals being if they are GCC'd or Solid red from negative security status(being -5 or lower) |

1. -5 or lower.
2. No, not unless you pod them. Podding is only legal on wartargets, and they will only get killrights on you if you pop them illegally and they do not try to defend themself with offensive modules (i.e. weapons, EWAR). It is legal to destroy a ship flown by a pilot with -5 or lower, anywhere. See Schmata's link for details.
3. No, you cannot unless you are at war. CCP should hold a NerfGäó tournament where we get to nerf the devs who nerfed our stuff. |

Answers for the lazy/arrogant/dumbasss/about-to-lose-his ship(s) tool who hasn't learned the rules yet:
1) Lowsec people have special rules that make them immune to your highsec foppery.
2) If you're afraid of killrights, why are you engaging in pvp?
2a) -5, incidentally this is the real answer to #1 too.
3) Only on days of the week ending in 'y'
I find that without a good mob to provide one for them, most people would have no mentality at all. |

incidentally, -10s do not care if they have a killright on you or not.
Just come to losec and start pewing the pirates. See how it goes and stop worrying about hisec engagement rules. |

Only one person mentioned it, and unfortunately he was so wrong on everything else it really got ignored.
Kill rights: Last i knew on this, kill rights are only acquired if the person you're shooting does not fight back in any way. If they sit there and get exploded without aggressing you then they will acquire kill rights, and this is the only method to acquire them. |

EDIT: the reason i am asking is that i have a nice easy set up in highsec transporting good around a few times a month that pays for everything and allows me to hang out in lowsec. it would be very painful for me if my hauler was suddenly destroyed with all the goodies loaded up inside it. But thanks for all the replys and lols to the angry not very good trolls)

1. you will probably not have a good time clearing out lowsec pirates if you have never been to low sec or understand lowsec mechanics
2. Low sec dwellers give zero craps about kill rights, and will shoot you on sight
3. You hauler will get ganked in highsec regardless of kill rights if it ever has something good in it (think 200+mil)
