ôThe new target painters The new stealth emittersö The problem with that is the stealth and covert op ships would not be able to use stealth modules. That would mean giving all Covet Op ships extra high slots. That or putting up with all the stealth pilots complaining that they cannot use stealth modules.
Electronic Warfare and stealth modules belong in the mid slots as all stealth and EW ship have extra mid slots. That and I was under the impression for the most part high slots where slots that needed a high cap drain or high fitting requirements. Ie simiple modules go in the low slots and complicated modules in the high slots.
ôRight now hislots are guns/nos/smartbomb only.ö There are lots of other useful things that go in high slots.

Edited by: Pottsey on 30/03/2005 21:09:21 ôYou only need one highslot on a Covert Ops currently. That leaves you, depending on race, with 2 or 3 highslots. Sounds like highslots a plenty to me.ö
I count 3. 1 for the cloak, 1 for the probe launcher and 1 for the stealth emitter and a 4th for the Painter (painter might not count so lets say 3). Bit of a problem for a Helios which only has 2 high slots leaving no room for weapons or stealth modules.I guess you could let the prove launcher bonus go to waste and fit a stealth emitter but that still leaves you with no weapons and lots of mid slots. If you make the EW high slots as well then the ship turns almost totally useless. At lest now the Covert ships can decloak and use EW modules.
Stealth bombers have the same problem once you fit your weapons and cloak you have no high slots left and if anything that ship should have a Stealth module. As all Covert Ops have lots of mid slots it makes sense to use the stealth modules in the mid slots. Not like there is much else to put in there.

ôWhy do you want stealth emitters on a cov ops?ö I believe stealth ships should be able to use stealth modules. Stealth is there mean defence. I plan to fly a Stealth Bomber based around stealth modules.

ôwould it not be better to be cloaked?ö It goes in cloaked to get into range but then how do you fire without decloaking? Its pointless having a combat based covert op ship if itÆs cloaked all the time. When it decloaks it needs those Stealth modules as thatÆs the only defence it can use.

ôyou want to use stealth emitters on a classic cov-ops ship too?ö I would prefer it as to me Covert Op means stealth. You donÆt send a none stealth team on a Covert OP mission. You always send the stealth team. Am I the only one that thinks an espionage ship made to sneak around unseen though enemy space should be stealthy? It just feels wrong to me to say its easy to fit stealth modules to every other ship but its hard to fit them to the ships made for stealth.
I guess they could make 2 modules 1 for Covert Op ships for the mid slots as they have extra computers to deal with the equipment. Then make another version thatÆs weaker but fits in the high slot for other ships.

ThatÆs pretty much correct
http://www.eve-i.com/home/crowley/page/page_objectsearch.php?q=Stealth+ Might not be final specs
The way I see it Covert Op ships donÆt have the powergrid to build a decent tank and donÆt have the resistance to take damage or the speed to avoid turrets hits. There only option is to be hard to lock and to hide which makeÆs sense being espionage shipÆs. Now the old Covert op ships tend to stay cloaked but the new combat ones need something for when they uncloak.
