The mouse moving randomly when you click the close button of a window appears odd. Does this mouse movement also happen on other occasions?
Also, do you play in Full Screen mode or one of the Windowed Modes, and does this happen across all modes? GM Karidor | Senior Game Master |

Click, the x button disappears, move cursor off window, it appears, you move mouse to the x and it disappears or works to close the window.
My apologies, I indeed misread this bit as the mouse cursor moving off on it's own, which has been something that happened in the past when you set Windows to increase text and icons to 150 percent (and which has been fixed since), so I wanted to rule out that this potentially reappeared.
As for the close button disappearing, this would be normal for the mouse cursor leaving the window area, and only then (same for the minimize and pin button in the upper right). I personally have not experienced what you describe myself, so I'm basically in the dark on potential reasons. It could be some third party application catching the click and make the eve client think that the mouse is no longer on the window, so make sure that no other background programs are running. If you are using some software for your mouse (i.e. SetPoint for the Logitech ones), it might be worth checking the settings in there as well.
Having said that, all I can do at this point is to ask everyone who experiences this to bug report it, and let us know what systems and mice they are using. That way we can collect information and eventually find a pattern to this. GM Karidor | Senior Game Master |

Bloodpetal wrote:I've noticed if you CLICK for TOO LONG and move off the window it will not close the window. And it will bug out on repeated attempts on closing the X.
Do a fast click and stay on the x before you release.
I'll try and upload a FRAPS.
That seems to be it. With clicking and holding down the mouse button too long I just managed to get that, too. You don't even need to move the mouse for it.
I guess the workaround for now would be "release the button faster after clicking" as already suggested by Bloodpetal in his second post. GM Karidor | Senior Game Master |

not your weird behaviour of holding in the button for a long time (because why would you do that! ) but the thing where it happens to people when they're just trying to close a window CCP Punkturis | EVE UI Developer |

On the old forums there was this thread with lots of people reporting the same issue. This still comes up often in the help chat channel. (although now I won't tell people that is a known issue I'll tell them that CCP hasn't heard of it bug report it and make a post on the new forums) http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1557831Having said that, all I can do at this point is wonder what good it does to fill out a bug report or make a forum post about a widely known issue when months go by and nothing happens except people pretend it is news to them. Also in the Incarna 1.1.1 issues thread. Read post #55. This bug has been around now for almost FIVE MONTHS.
I'm trying to find a way to fix this, I just need to know if the only solid repro step we have is to hold down the mouse for a while (I'm not sure it's the same problem). CCP Punkturis | EVE UI Developer |

Sniperdoc wrote:This issue is still persistent on Tranquility right now.
This has nothing to do with Mouse Drivers or the Operating System. This is purely an Eve Client issue and has to do with the CarbonUI framework updates to the Eve client.
So far, this Carbon based stuff (could have put a better expletive) has done nothing to improve our gameplay. NOTHING... NADA... ZILCH ZIP NICHTS... GARNICHTS! Is CCP looking into other issues players are experiencing...??? Such as the laggy/non-responsive overview?
I will test on Sisi tonight and state my findings.
I know it's still on TQ, the fix is only on SiSi and it would be great if you could see if it's still happening to you there CCP Punkturis | EVE UI Developer |

Yeah I'd say this is just how it's supposed to work.
At least if you're able to close the windows with just a regular click (as you guys were having issues with before) then I think we're all happy!?:D CCP Punkturis | EVE UI Developer |

Hover cursor over window, reveal X, click X, close window. Fairly simple code isn't it?

I'm having a strange issue, only for the information window in the current sisi build * it won't minimize, can only be closed * it always forgets the last size of thew window itself when closed and appears in a small window when re-opened (anchored to top-left corner of the previous state) at work right now, will open a bugreport with logs when back home.
I just fixed the minimize issue for info windows this morning CCP Punkturis | EVE UI Developer |

now that's just by design, windows that don't have focus aren't showing the buttons
