Interesting dicussion in our corp about this. Given that one has a very fast ship and can get lucky enough to point it in the right direction and the travel is not too long (an re-orient the ship correctly after daily downtimes), is it even possible to reach Jove space?
I'd like to hear back from someone who would be in possesion of this data if it is even possible. Comments from CCP?

No, Systems are on different nodes of the server.
Jumpgates are the portals that let you switch nodes. You can not switch nodes without a Gate.
Theoitically possible if you could find two systems on one node... but I doubt you'd find any in Jove space sharing a node with any accessible systems.

My question to you is, "What would you do?" I can imagine you flying a very long distance and going through all that hassle just to see a 23.5au wide "Under Construction" sign. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- I am not paying $15 a month to play a immature a-hole. |

Thank you. That is the best answer I've heard so far.

I saw some math somewhere where it would take over a year to move from one system to another even at several KM a second assuming 24/7 travel.
So even discounting the Node issue thats a "no"

1 AU = 149597870 KM if your flying at 6.5KM per second it would take you 266 days to travel 1 AU so still feel like trying ?

Not possible. Even if on the same node it couldn't be done. The systems just expand infinatly. The old safe spots were proof the this. You could warp to insane distances from the center of the systems. Many thousand AUs if your were stupid enough. (gotta warp back)
Each system is a little world of its own.

its impossible.... it would take MONTHS just to travel 1 AU me thinks... and systems are over 300 AUs big... so u could spend ure entire life traveling
this is why expanding to new systems goes so slow :)

While we're on the subject, what DID people find when they clone jumped to Jove space? Were the stations Jovian? Were there any Jove ships flying about? Could you buy Jove ships from NPCs?
Just curious... ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar! Enjoy your worthless gun! |

No, no and no.
They found empty stations without any agents, belts without rats and no buy or sell orders. And they were moved to normal Empire right when a GM discoveret them.

If there were no rats, ships or agents, why didn't the GMs just leave them stuck there for awhile, to teach 'em a leason? I would've. =D ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar! Enjoy your worthless gun! |

No idea how you would even do that.

Heh, been there done that.
Jove space has... Well, had nothing of value. No roids in belts, no NPC's. Agents, Jovian stations and thats all.
Jovian stations look cool though.
