Since playing Eve I've gone through several exes, and taking into account my drinking, gambling, poor housekeeping, and spending the weekends with the boys, playing video games just doesn't rate high on their 'hate' list.
Even if they did give me an ultimatum, I'd lie and say I quit, then play behind her back.

I personally have the best of both worlds.
She works from 7am to 5pm and I work from 1pm to 10pm.
So I get to come home and tuck her in and play 4 hours till downtime.
Since its so late I dont get stuck doing chores or cooking etc etc ass it would make to much noise. (Do my chores on the weekend)

Heh, I'm married and agree with Sleazy there...
Course when she shows signs of agitation over the game I make sure I have a skill training (that has at least a cpl hours left on it) and go give her some lovin, tuck her in and then it's back to EVE

oddly enough, I did get served this ultimatum :/
I chose my marriage then (and now) and I've learned a lot about myself by not using my computer at home hardly at all, I fond I was less and less inclined to turn the damn thing on at all!
Anyway, hindsight and all that jazz - glad I only mothballed my char as I'm allowed *2* nights a week now if I'm good :D

Ah, if I got served, I'd take a break, then work back into the game. I get maybe a couple of hours a night, more when she's out or away, so it works out. EVE makes a good hobby.
Only problem with the current arrangement is I'm missing out on new skills that need training up. I'm half tempted to teach her how to switch my training...but I fear she'd end up talking smack on Local while I'm at work

It has happened occasionally, when I get the look that means "If you don't get off that computer right now I'll be very upset, and you'll be denied any satisfaction. And the couch is ready for you." Generally she understands and realizes that we all have our hobbies, and just because I sit at a computer and scream into a mic, trying to kill some spaceships, that doesn't mean I love her any less
Of course, I'm not married, so maybe I should defer to those that are.

When I told my gf that I had started WoW she went off the wall and nearly broke up with me. Had to quit that. Then I went back to Eve and have kept it hush hush. If she found out though...probably have to quit Eve too.

Guys guys guys. Too bad your wives and Gf's are not like me. When my BF bought this game nearly two years ago, I sat and watched him play it. My only question to him was when are you going to get me an account . and I told him if you don't then you have to quit. LOL One month later I got EVE for my birthday. I love to play EVE. Both my BF and I are in the same corp and we play after our children are in bed . Maybe you should all have your wife or GF's sit and watch you play. You have to show her diffrent things in game though, so she can see what she may like. Heck you could even let her pod kill you just once to take out frustration on you for not showing her the fun of the game sooner.
I can say tho, don't spend alll your time on EVe. If you both work, if you get home first have dinner ready for her adn a clean house. Even if she doesn't work do this . Who knows she may let you plya more often.
Remember never pi$$ of your woman.

Follow Mara Morai's advice, thats what i did, of course it helps if they are already into playing games in the first place, but it worked even though she wasn't too excited about EVE before she got her own account :)

Its a war, you need high PVW skills,(PVW= player verses woman} a good understanding of female tolarance levels and just plain old sex.
I managed to train her well took 4 years but I can now play for hours and she thinks she's letting me play when she wants me too.
