Edited by: CursedBeast on 05/04/2005 22:28:36 I've its been mentioned before somwhere about a patch coming out somtime allowing you to "re pick" your starting attributes. Anyone else know anything about this?
If it isnt ever going to come out I will now make a suggestion: -I suggest that we are allowed to choose our starting attributes again (like we did when we customised our characters when we made a new character). This is because I, along with many other people, messed it all up as we didnt know much about the game at that point in time. For instance, i made the mistake of thinking that charisma would allow you to talk your way out of getting killed -- oh how much more wrong could I have been! I really regret this decision as I am now stuck with my character how it is.
To stop this from being exploited by people changing their attributes all the time according to which skill they want to train AND to be fair to the new people who join the game I suggest that every characters attributes are allowed to be changed (like when they are selected in the character creation screen) ONCE in their "lifespan". This means that you can select your attributes when you first enter the game, and you may change them at one other point in time thereafter.
I would like your veiws on this, plz be constructive. I wonder how many other people regret how they made their character when they first created it.. or if it was jus me being a noob hehe.
edit: posted on wrong character - was supposed to be on Crusher166 not that it really matters.

You have two options. Deal with the choices you have made or start over. What happened to the concept of accepting the consequences of one's actions?
You picked a sucky character, now deal. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- I am not paying $15 a month to play a immature a-hole. |

Well it would be nice if what I said could happen but it probably wont.
I have accepted the consequences - this post wasnt aiming to whine. I am also hardly going to start over seeming that the character has 13 million skillpoints. So in other words, i have "delt with my actions". crikey you make it sound like picking the wrong attributes on my character is like stealing off a pensioner

It will very likely never happen.
That said, I will pay RL money to re-distribute the 5 points each char gets to assign at CharCreation.

Like Discorporation, there's very little I wouldn't do to redistribute those initial 5 points (I put one into char, grrrr!!!!!)
But I appreciate that it'll never happen. It may seem fair to anyone who's messed up on character creation and went totally wrong, but it's not fair for people who put all the points into int/mem, max out their support skills then switch the points into perc/will and get the bonus to train combat skills.
I know how you feel. My perc = charisma and my willpower is my lowest stat which isn't the best setup for a combat character. Just means I train a lot of the int based combat skills to make best use of the attributes I do have to a high level. Though I appreciate that a high charisma is hard to make the most of.
(I've just started playing KOTOR II and like the first, I'm going with a high charisma value in the game as I know it'll be a huge benefit.)

I wish I could re-do my attribs a little.
/me shakes fist at CCP, you could give us a decent explanation of what the attributes affect in game while we're choosing them
I gave myself lots of Charisma cause I thought it would make my life easier in EVE world ...
Now I need basic perception implant just to have it equal with my other attributes without implants :/

They should do what any good MMO game would do and make a REALLY expensive consumable item that allows you to change your starting attributes, or reallocate existing ones. Rich bastards out there need sink holes for there money.... And that way even if you did F up your starting attributes you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that some day down the road you will be able to fix the mistake with an ³ber expensive item.

I think it's City of Heroes that lets you do a complete re-tool of your character once in a *very* blue moon. I think everyone got a free changeabout for last Xmas. People basically redid their starting chars and applied all the exp etc on top of that.

What a poor sense of logic you have.
We pay to play this game and we are expected to know exactly how attributes work and exactly what we want to do in EVE on our very first day?
Is this a game or a ******* exam?
The problem with the attribute system. If a person starts out as a mining character and then decides he wants to switch over to pvp he is basically screwed when it comes to training time. The flexibility you have is appalling.
I imagine this was setup to promote people to pay for multiple accounts.
Heh.

he he, i thought I was the only one...
ofcourse by the time I knew what is needed and what not I already had around 0.5 mil points so I didn't create another char... looking back it was a mistake but at that time 500k points looked like a lot
so yeah, I would also love possibility to move the points around but I also doubt very much it will ever happen...

Wasn't there originally going to be something called 'genetic engineering' allowing to add/move attributes?
I would gladly pay 100M isk just to move some of my way to high willpower to intelligence. Especially with all the new EW skills.
