Just imagine u arrange a 1vs1 against a well know Piratecorp ( 1 member).. ur not napped or anything u are the only Pilot of ur corp in system.. He has 4 with him. they say we wonŠt engage..
U win the 1vs1 .. but u wonŠt scramble, caus u were knowing, what he was flying ( fair imho). then he warped out, and u 7 km away from station approached it.. and gets ganked and killed by his mates.. who promised not to engage..
itŠs not whining itŠs just my 2 cents + a warning donŠt go for 1 vs1 even if u know the guys for over 1 year.
p.s. there arguments were as good as their moral... u could have warped out after the 1 vs1 was finished.. u dont have to dock .. when hostiles are in system
p.p.s. the 1vs1 was @ station, and I was 7 km away.. and reapproached after he warped out.

I have been in many arranged 1 vs 1's & only once has anyone broken thier word.
They are alot of fun & a good way to judge the character of your enemy. I'm sure 1v1's happen many times everyday but the only ones ya hear about are the ones that went south.

In my experience stuff like this only happens when u engage carebears 1v1. Most pirates, yarr , will honour it.

I had an arranged 1vs1 wich was with a member of that -V- allaince n it was suppose to be my crow vs their crusader it turned out to be my crow vs a cerberus then 2 assault ships warping in.

I just wasnŠt expecting that, caus I tristed D.N.A so far and thought they were honourable pirates.. I wonŠt fight a 1vs1 against someone I donŠt know.. well I wonŠt fight 1 vs1 arranged .. anymore

1 VS 1 is not my cup of tea, and ganking is what pvp is mostly about.
That does not mean that a word should not be honoured. Finding out who you can trust in this game is the biggest asset you have. I put trust in both friends and enemies. That includes trust with isk, ships and modules. And ofcourse the trust in someone that they will destroy your ship, and pod you if they get you.
Trust is the real assest, all else is easy earned in this game anyway.
