Devs:
Please post stats on the following:
1) distribution of pilots by race/subrace: Desire to see which race is dominant if any. 2) distribute [1] by month for past 12 months (or longer): Want to see growth/decline trends by race over time. 3) number of players by country (if possible) 4) male/female character distribution (including all alts)(gender of the players' characters, not the players themselves)
*** If possible, please provide only aggregate pilot information for the character with the most SP for an individual player.
Simple tables or a spreadsheet (Excel?) would suffice.
The piloting community does appreciate your assistance in providing this crucial demographic information.
Respectfully.

And you think somebody spending a dya or two compiling something as useless as this at CCP is their priority?
Your Heavy Neutron Blaster II perfectly strikes Serpentis Chief Sentinel, wrecking for 660.4 damage.

I second this.
Asheron's Call had that kind of feature, and it was much appreciated.
It's only some SQL requests and display on a web page, so there's nothing big to this.

Pretty sure Caldari is by far the most dominant, then amarr has a far chunk, then gal a minny's are in v.short numbers? Sure I read that somewhere a long time ago with the latter two only a tiny fraction (<30%) combined?
Maybe it's just becuase it's 3:45 and I'm dreaming awake?
Who knows.. I'll sleep -_-

Last time I heard, the order of races in order of highest number of characters to lowest went:
1. Caldari 2. Amarr 3. Gallente 4. Minmatar
That was back for the jove piece collections though, probably different now.

The first two should be pretty easy to do, as they probably track that anyway to see how balanced things are. Not sure if they care to much about the others though.

Good requests. I am very curious about this myself.

If I recall correctly, last time it was mentioned the Amarr were the least populous race.

Based on the numbers presented in this news report:
empires compete to collect baniya - winner gains favor of jove
When the Jove ambassador "blew up", every account was given a couple of "bits" of him.
So assuming that the most common race had to collect the most items of a given type, then I would guess the distribution was like this in May 2004:
- Minmatar (Bone Splinters, 750 units)
- Amarr (Blood Drops, 400 units)
- Caldari (Liver Bile, 200 units)
- Gallenteans (Cerebral Slices, 150 units)

Would be nice if the Devs would answer this one. It is indeed a simple matter of writing a sql querry.

I'm fairly sure last time it was mentioned that caldari are top, then gallente not too far behind then mimitar and amaar the lowest of all.

But, were not also some bits rarer than others? I'm fairly sure they weren't equally available, if that's the case then numbers alone wouldn't indicate population.

Correct, some bits were dropped more then others. At the time however, an analisys of race/player numbers was released or at least showed up somewhere.
I distinctly recall it putting them in this order: 1. Caldari 2. Gallente 3. Amarr 4. Minmatar
Altho 3 and 4 could be reversed, I'm only sure about 1 and 2 here.
What the effect of this is is impossible to predict however, as many Caldari do not specialise in Caldari ships etc etc.

Naal,
While I am somewhat interested in viewing statistics or pilot distributions of various sorts I fully do not expect that CCP will respond. I do agree with a few of the posts that feel that the sql might be trivial, hence it would not take a couple days. As you can see from those that actually did post, there is (at least) some interest in viewing these statistics and probably more.
Concerning the comment about the "uselessness" of this type of data, well the beautiful view of the Rockies outside my window is stunning, but quite useless. Does that mean the view lacks total utility in my life or others' lives? Absolutely not. Sometimes it's the useless or trivial things in life that are truly what makes life worth living.
Thank you for the comment though, it was equally useless.

A general statistics page with nice stats regarding the game in general is an old request, and also, an old promise. When I talk old, I mean 1 1/2 year at least. _______________________________________________

I like the intent here although the stats are open to debate. Earth & Beyond occasionally posted statistics about the game universe and it was quite interesting. It really shouldn't take much for the devs to run a few queries - they probably do that every day anyway.

having this kind of data in FAQ or some other website section would be pretty cool. I'm sure new people who are checking out EVE would be delighted to see such info

Last time the distribution stat was posted. Brutor girls were the least populous at 2%. I bet there are fewer of us now.
