Well I am 6 eve years old now. I feel as if I have finally attained "Bitter Vet" status. I have been around Eve long enough to know, "I know nothing." (Cue Hogan's Heros music) Just when you think you know all the answers, they change the questions. I will say it has been an interesting experience. Some of the things that stand out in my memory.
1. Warp to 0 (You youngins have it easy now)
2. T20 (Never got a T2 print in the lottery)
3. boot.ini (DOH, all I can say is really? So much for QC)
4. BOB (Nice while it lasted)
5. Removal of training skills (At least we got the SP refunded)
6. Rigs (Good idea)
7. T3 (Still waiting on frigs and Battleships)
8. PI (No interest here)
9. BACON (I like mine with eggs)
10. EVE Voice (Teamspeak is still better)
11. GHSC (Still love that story, got me interested in Eve)
12. Eve Bank (Just like real life, banks take your money then vanish)
13. MOo Corp (Don't goto Mara)
14. FW (Nice try)
15. Incursions (Isk Faucet)
16. Wormholes (The litteral ass end of space)
There are alot more interesting things that happened over the last 6 years not listed here. What oldtime things do you remember not listed here?
I look forward to more years of ups and downs in the Eve universe. Thanks to everyone who helped make the 1st 6 possible.

Ditto, forgot all about that one. Woke the wife up at 3:30 am with a "YESSSS!!" when Caldari Battleship V completed.
You kids and your skill Queues, When I was your age we got up at all hours of the day/night to set a skill, and we liked it :)

Changing the size of Region/Constellation gates. (Now the permacamps are usually further into 0.0 on bottlenecks instead of right on the entrance.)
Updating the graphics engine. (Remember when Amarr ships were golden?)
Old scanning system, much patience required. (Yes, I'm aware the system Apocrypha replaced wasn't the original one either.)
New industrial ships. Rorqual, Orca, etc.
The big forum outcry when they proposed nerfing carriers.
Lots of stuff has been happening in EVE over the years. |

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Titans on fire outside "The Alamo" of NOL-M9. I watched massive Super Capital fleets glitter in the dark near the BKG-Q2 gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... -á

Gone are the days of hundreds of bookmarks off gates just to travel anywhere...gone are the days of selling cans of BM's for profit...

17: The removal of the blue 3D tactical view in the bottom right hand corner.
18: Dual MWD Ravens and their Torpedo charge tactics.
19: Torp Kestrels.
20: Discovering Concord had poor loot when you killed them.
21: Collecting Jovian diplomat body parts (still waiting for them to be useful CCP... you promised.  )
To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors.
If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

You could scan NPCs in belts, could roam low sec scanning those shadow serpentis rats in belts after downtime.
Tier 2 BCs didn't exist, was just ferox, cyclone, brutix and proph. No t3, no black ops/marauders, no mael / abadd / rokh / hyper. Stealth bombers fired cruise missiles. No hictors, titans introduced but none built until about mid 2007.
No rigs.
There's been about 4 hp buffs since when I started, back then an XL booster cyclone could boost all its shields in one cycle.
90% webs and no rock paper scissors with mwd/ab and scamblers/disruptors
Warp core stabs had no drawbacks, stabbabonds were everywhere.
Damps were great, and no fiddling with scripts in everything.
nanophoons were unstoppable, nos and torps - nos wasn't toothless like now, it sucked you dry.
Zealot had 4 turrets, sacrilege was a laser ship, nightmare was 4/4 lasers/torps like phoon.
Ginger magician camping hagilur / resbroko / otou 18 hours a day while bawling in local and sharing his frustration with all. for about 5 years.

Agreed with all but the last point. I prefer thinking back to the day when Fountain was owned by Fountain Alliance... at that time arguably the wealthiest alliance in the game.
Which also reminds me of when you placed orders with corps specialized in making T2 ships, and you usually waited on a waiting list for weeks or more often months to get your 500million ISK Hack.
