well the reasons I still play WoW are:
1.) no downtime. How many times would you log on into eve, keep checking map, moving your fleet back and forth and nothing happens. Nada. Zip. Zero. They safespotted. Very exciting.
2.) It's new.
3.) There is actually more pvp in WoW then in Eve. My theory is that both games have equal ratio of pvpers/carebears, but in WoW carebears have nothing to lose (except that they whine occasionaly to nerf rogues/shamans/whatever) so they pvp. Or at least try to. In eve, carebears know that they are going to get wtfpwnbbq:ed by pvp groups, so they dont fight, since they dont want to mine again to get back their stuff (more on that later on). Instead, they make nice propaganda videos of selected and censored occasional battle captures, and they regard logging off as a form of combat. Whatever.
4.) Grinding in wow is actually more fun then grinding in eve. You may not be grinding to get levels in eve, but you grind nevertheless. Mining = grind. Npcing=grind. Agents=grind. Don't fool yourself. How interesting is to mine? It's so frigging mind-numbing that I sometimes doze off while doing it. My RL JOB is more fun then COMPUTER GAME ffs. Npcing? Ain't that interesting you warp into belt, see 6-8 "+" signs of different sizes. omgosh how exciting. Zzzzz. Agents? Go there and get me x of y is actually more fun in Wow, since some npc is interacting, there is some scenery to be seen instead of lagfest in Yulai, something is going on.
5.) Even tho wow is balanced for group combat and not for 1v1 it is still somewhat balanced (especially after next proposed patch). Or at least Blizz is trying to. I mean we had gankageddon for almost one year, and people complained about it, and finally we got some changes. Took them only a year... There are some really silly stuff left like some ships can fit whatever tech2, while others cant, and there is no valid explanation why is that the case. Etc etc.
The only part of Eve that is better is the politics of it, which is purely player product (you all know how much we all care about emperor whatever) and as such it cannot really be contributed to Eve itself. For me Molle and dbp actually did more for eve then TomB. --
