Ok, Apparently eve isn't for you. If you want to leave, its your choice. Have fun in whatever other game you choose. But its no need to bad mouth the game and the people who play it on the way out.

Trust me I gave a long explanation to the people that count (CCP) when I cancelled my subscription. Obviously this post is being read since its gotten about 50 replies in the ten minutes since I wrote it. It' a forum. Its here so people can express themselves. Im expressing my utter dissapointment with this game to the only people who may or may not give a ****... other EvE players. Should I go express this to my girlfriend who hasnt played video games since mario bros. for nintendo was out?
As far as the sci-fi genre goes, SWG is certainly better than this. However, after this I believe I'll be keeping clear of this genre.

The training times are long, I agree with that. Before the tech II stuff entered the game I would have said "but you can only get a bit better than the rest", but since some stuff requires so many high lvl skills I see your point. I still say that you can be a reasonably good fighter with low skillpoints though, as long as you know what you're doing - and that takes experience, which you don't have when you're new.
So are you quitting because mining and agent missions are boring or because some griefer corp declared war on you?
A little bit of both I guess. Sometimes its necessary to be on your own. Even when your in a corp. Being at war makes that downright suicidal at times. Im not going to mention other games I find more entertaining and rewarding than Eve, I dont find that appopriate. However, there are better mmorpg's. That is a fact, statistically at least.

I don't know who Shepard thinks he is talking to. I imagine the general consensus on this board is that EVE is a GREAT game.
I love it and think that CCP and the developers and support staff deserve all the kudos they get. I am not a 'Fan-boy', as I have been known to level some pretty severe criticism from time to time. I have come to realize that running this game takes a lot of effort and I, for one, appreciate that effort.
Thanks to all you CCP type people, and those associated with you, who keep the show running.
As for the particulars of the original post- hardly worth commenting on. I guess go play Unreal or CS or some other fast-paced game. You obviously do not have the temprament for a game like EVE. At least, it would have been fair and kind for you to take into account your own preference as to game-play style rather than launch such as unbalance attack on EVE.

I just want to say
Quitting because some griefer corp declared war on you and you were greatly out experienced is not the solution.
Hiring a merc corp to deal with the griefers that is the solution.
Being able to conduct day to day business whilst knowing that the merc corp is absolutly destroying your enemy is priceless. It also makes the next griefer corp think twice about bothering you.

Of course thats the general concensus. Im sure on WoW forums the general concensus is that WoW is stupendous! Your right I dont have the temperament for Eve. I like to have fun while playing a video game... go figure. Oh and yes, I play CS. Thing is CS does not make me want to throw the install CD in the trash when I play it. I like all types of games. CS is what it is, and its damn good at what it is.

Hiring merc corp to defend yourself sound like good idea, but is a bad idea in practise and waste of isk. Most of these pirate corps are small and know how to pick easy fight. There is no way for merc corp to 'win' the war for the client who hired them. Hiring merc corp to attack works like charm tho.
