I just wanted to say that although this game has great potential it just doesnt live up to it. If your looking for a good mmorpg look elsewhere. Someday a game company will do the sci-fi genre justice in an mmorpg. Until then theres eve. A huge waste of time and effort, and mind numbingly boring. Hmmm, lets go mine for 2 hours and stare at a rock. No thanks. Hmmm lets go do the same agent mission for the 57th time. No thanks. Oh, lemme start training learning to level 5.....oh no a week to do it!! AHHHH! If like me your starting to wonder about what in gods name you play this game for, just do the right thing and cancel your subcription like I did. Trust me, it doesnt get any better. I honestly pity the people who have been playing this game for over a year. Although youll flame me, thats ok. Because we both know how absolutely bored you are with this game. Im sure your at war with some tiny corp and camping theyre HQ with a fleet of battleships at the same time you flame me. Its ok, I feel your pain.Anyway TTFN and have fun staring at those asteroids. But be careful! You will go cross eyed eventually!

You missed the whole point of EVE - corporations and personal initiative moving a storyline that we create. -----------------------------------------------

From the sound of it you didn't bother joining a player run corporation or making friends. Most MMORPGs rely on people forming friendships and playing together. Eve is just more reliant on that than most.
Eve is certainly not the game for the dedicated loner who just wants to do his own stuff. If that describes you then goodye -- (Battle hardened miner)

I got bored with Anarchy Online after one and a half years, got bored with WW2 Online after a week, got bored with DAC after two weeks, got bored with Asheron during the beta, got bored with EnB during the beta, got bored with SWG during the beta, got bored with WOW during the open beta (way too many 10 yr olds), got bored with Linage 2 during the beta, got bored with Shadow Bane after two weeks, been playing EVE since December 2002 and still playing. No game is for everyone.
BTW, I don't think he has any stuff. |

Maybe if you left the noob system just once you would've realised that there is more to EVE than AFK mining.

Everything you've listed is all second rate compared to PvP. If your willing to invest some time and do some missions and mine a little ore and get yourself into a good combat ship and corp you'll have a blast.
You just havn't lived Eve till you've spent a couple of hours in a ship that took you a few days or weeks to earn hunting down another player and finaly found them. At that moment when your guns start hitting them and you see thier shields strip away as yours do the same you feel your heart pounding in your chest and your hands starting to shake, not knowing what is going to happen and betting your skill against thiers. When it's over and thier ship is blown to bits and you see thier pod warp off you will think damn what is happaning to me? It's only a game.
Then your hooked.
At that time, not when you open your trial account but when you taste battle with another human, do you truly experance Eve-online.

BTW, I dont think any of you know what the hell your talking about. I have stuff, trust me.
Yes, I joined a corp. Yes, it was fun for a bit. Then we went to war. To war with a corp consisting of players who had been in the game for quite a while, and predictably... bored stiff. Yes we did complexes together...boring. Yes we did corp mines...boring.
Anyway, I knew all you hardcore nerds would do some hardcore flaming in this thread. Thats to be expected. God forbid someone has an opinion. WoW has ten year olds? Well, Eve has adults with inflated ego's who think they're cool because they can blow up some noob whose been playing the game for 3 weeks ship. Which is worse?

Interesting. Could you elaborate on how it's possible to get bored fighting? I know there are some ways, just interested in your viewpoint and how you did the fighting.

Where would you suggest? Seriously, don't make a statement like that without providing examples of the picture perfect MMORPG you've played, and must obviously be still playing since day one of its release because it's the best thing ever. Let us know, so we can be enlightened.

I did, and since I was new to the game and they werent, I apparently did'nt stand a chance. Ill get back to you in 6 months once Im done training my skills. This game is obviously designed to keep you playing and paying your monthly fee, while you deal with the ungodly training times.

If you hate the game so much why did you post here to say you were leaving? Trying to martyr yourself so that you may possibly get some people to followyou and thus you too can be a 'cool' person?
The grammer flame was predictable due to teh lack of line spaceing or paragraphs in your post. Most people nowdays have the attention spans of a gnat and if they see more than 3 lines of text without a break, they don't even bother to read it. If you want more people to read what you post, paragraphs help.
As to the reasons you are bored: As has been pointed out and rejected by you, there are many reasons to play this game, and none of them suit you. That's fine. It seems to suit the rest of us.
Coming here and saying this is boring and that is boring and this and that are even more boring helps no-one, least of all yourself. If however you came here and said the same thing in a constructive way you would probably get less flames and more of a discussion going.

The training times are long, I agree with that. Before the tech II stuff entered the game I would have said "but you can only get a bit better than the rest", but since some stuff requires so many high lvl skills I see your point. I still say that you can be a reasonably good fighter with low skillpoints though, as long as you know what you're doing - and that takes experience, which you don't have when you're new.
So are you quitting because mining and agent missions are boring or because some griefer corp declared war on you?
