When I first saw the XETIC killboard I thought... Ahh refreshing, now I can see if any of our pilots are forgetting to post their kills.
10 minutes later I was checking the date the site went up to see if it was April 1st.
Let me give you an example of quite how wrong the killboard is: XETIC claimed TOTAL CELESTIAL HORIZON LOSSES [CLS] KILLS BY BOB
Note that NOT A SINGLE ONE OF BOBS kills on that page appears as a loss for CLS on the XETIC killboard, despite covering the same time period. NOT ONE.
Now XETIC members have used their killboards in other threads to back arguements that they are somehow doing "better than expected" or that we are finding the campaign hard.
Yet despite these kind of MASSIVE and glaring inaccuracies, the XETIC killboard still shows our corps as having more kills than losses!
So even though probably 80% of XETIC appear not to be posting their losses, we still are losing less than the 20% that ARE posting!
Either XETIC should stop referring to their killboard as proof, or they should start enforcing stricter rules on posting losses, or they should start winning more.

Well, it is a XETIC killboard, hence it shows XETIC's kills - maybe you should ask them to make a lossboard for them to put their losses in

Maybe they knew how bad they were, and didn't expect to get any kills at all? Hence, having any kills to post is doing "better than expected".

Welcome to kill-board bashing thread #5134513451345.
As all kill-boards kept by major alliances and as the name implies, it is mainly a kill board rather than a loss board. Woohoo, big surprise.
By the way, the Shinra loss board at http://project90.aenonimity.com/shinra/ogb.php?p=&c=losses doesn't seem to be incredibly comprehensive either.

I was going to type something relevant, but it's 17:20 and a Friday. I'm going to the pub....
One question though, who really cares? To be honest, half of XF probably don't even know it exists.

the shinra loss section on their board is totally empty. and yet they whine about other corps not posting their losses.

I will say one thing before people go to far.
It is quite a new board, and when you have 4000 members its proberly hard enough just to get everyone to know about it, let alone use it and especially post losses. I think all corps with their own killboard know it can be hard to keep the loses accurate, but with time and pressure things get better and hopefully that will be the same with this kill board.
Having said that;
Cant help laughing when XF link to it. Have you guys actually looked at it? How on earth can you link to that thing with pride? ----- Eris Discordia; I think the proper term is <3

Dudes,
don't measure the war using a kill board. Simply fight it until one side or the other capitulates. Simple. Then that side sez to other side 'i own j00!'

Tak, I think I just answered this in the other thread. I'll clarify here. XF doesn't really care bout PvP as much as you do. You're just gonna have to get over it. Sorry m8. I can help make it easier for you guys though:
OUR KILL BOARD
Now, our loss board gets tricky here doesn't it. Because afaik, there isn't a ATUK/Shinra/BOS/OC/SUPRM killboard. Maybe if you made one, (seeing how the all powerful killboard is your standard of measurment in this game) we could critique it as well.
Besides, that's not exactly an apples to apples comparison you put up there. BoB is not at war with XF. ATUK/Shinra/etc are. Don't post up kills by m0o and Dark Cartel and somehow put them in this thread like they belong here. It's sad you would even do such a thing IMO. Poor show there m8.
Not all posts are put up into our kill/lossboard, simply because we don't really care.

Omg, what a stupid threat.
Really the MOST accurate way is when BOTH sides use a KILLBOARD (not losses). You then can compare and be about 99% sure whats going on.
Is it really that hard?

We should have a killboard.net site setup by the weekend fingers crossed. Boards like Snra's and Atuk's will also send on kills posted there to that board when its set up. ----- Eris Discordia; I think the proper term is <3

Stats are all nice and dandy but before CCP creates an official killboard, there will be discrepancies. And of course they won't do it because little whiny carebears like Lygos are going to start crying over the fact that they don't like people seeing them as inferior players because they die more than they kill. (Hey, eve is not all about shooting.. ^^)
Personally I don't give a fukc about killboards, I just try to kill people and that's it. This whine is not going to end, ever. Either let it go or go and lose your good night sleep over it.

All I have to say is this: If I don't post my loss mails (stuff I lost in PvP) I get moaned at so hard it ain't worth it. So it's either posting my loss or getting moaned at to death *looks at Tholarim fearfuly* ... ------------------------------------------------

The main problem I have with the Xetic Killboard is the "Worst 10 corps" section and how it is misleading to a neutral. Reading that it would look like Supremacy are complete noobs, but the truth is cos Xetic dont post their losses its a gross misrepresentation of the facts.
Personally I dont care whether Xetic record losses or not, if they are going to do it though I suggest they dont do it so half assed. I would also suggest they remove that ranking system whilst ever its not a true representation OR (and lets see if they go for this) Supremacy is hopefully going to get their kills back from eve-kills, if we provide all our Xetic kills over the same period as Xetic have kills against us will these be posted so a truer picture can be formed?

It's quite easy for a Corp to say "we make every member post their losses on our boards." However, it's quite a different situation to make everyone in a huge alliance do the same. As a pvper, I have almost all of my deaths since joining Xetic posted on the Xetic killboard. (I believe I'm missing a couple of pod deaths I don't have the mails for for some wierd reason, or I'd have them posted as well.) Keeping track of my stats is something that interests me as a pvper, and so I do it.
However, when dealing with an alliance that has industrial corps, or corps that are part pvp and part industrial, forcing everyone to post their losses isn't really that feasible, since a large portion of the members don't care about kills/losses, they only care about doing what they do. I'm pretty sure there are still a lot of people within Xetic who don't even know we even have a killboard.
The problem I see is that the pvp corps are trying to hold us up to their standard when it comes to pvp and how they conduct their business, when they should realize that we aren't like them, and I think that that is one of the primary reasons for the fights we're having now in the first place. If you want to have the most accurate killboard ever as a pvp corp, great, have fun with it, but don't expect that that's what every other corp in the game wants as well. For a lot of members, I think the Xetic killboard is just a place to post their kills so they can be recognized for inter alliance pay. As for me, I'll keep my kills and losses as close as I can to accurate, but that's for my own personal record and knowledge. To each their own right?

If you just showed kills and posted your losses when you felt like it I would have no problem with that, its when you bring in rankings to show how great you are, but dont keep them accurate thats when it all seems lame to me.

,o/ Guilty. I just found out that I was using the old one half an hour before I read this thread. I watch forums a LOT when I can't play so if I missed it there has got to be a bunch of others. I post my kills and losses on eve-kills.com, altho RA always seems to have my losses up there before I get the chance.
Anyway this doesn't affect any of you TBBA folks but I will be posting everything from my inbox to get it up-to-date. -------------------- This area is a Sun-Tzu-Quote- and Dead-Language-Free Zone. |

You'll have to enlighten us there m8. I don't see where XF ever cared about PvP rankings. We just want our space, and our peace. Like I said, we didn't get a formal killboard until 2 weeks ago. How much do you think we really cared about PvP rankings?

A logical situation: "Hey we're bored and we need a fight, lets fight those guys over there that are bored and need a fight - they seem to care about their kill/death ratios as much as us, it could be a nice challenge"
The current situation: "Hey we're bored we need a fight, i know lets pick on the big alliance that has alot of miners and traders - lets also invite those guys over there that are bored and need a fight to join in. Hey wait a minute the miners and traders arent accurately recording their losses, this cannot be!"
The logical sitation would for once and all determine whose "the best" while the current situation only determines whose "the best" at ganking inexperienced players.
Therefore any accuracy in record keeping in the current situation is pointless as it proves nothing.
