Hey, don't forget about me D: I like friends too....
Also, much of my corp mates are oriented around Logistics. Should you ever want to join a crew from time to time, or learn a thing or two, just ask :D
I missed this as well, but another force multiplier is sub-capital and capital ships, but that's further down the road. The closest, as stated, is Logistics. The step after Logistics, is known as a Triage Carrier. I'll explain more in-game, if you're willing to throw me an invite.

Because this is a PVP game that allows theft, scamming, and espionage, keep in mind that in EVE it's not as easy as in other MMO's to get in a good corp by just training a desired ship/role. Even logistics. They'll need to trust you first before accepting you.
Also, everyone can train whatever's needed, theoretically, so, if the choice is between asking a corp member to train for logistics and recruiting a complete stranger that may or may not be able to properly fly the ship or be a thief, they're likely to stick with the member.
Bottom line, if you think along the lines of "healers are needed, so I'll train for healing, so I can get in the bestest guild" you'll be disappointed.
Do train for the ship you want, but don't sit in station for a year and then expect to be in high demand; fly other ships along the way and try to join corps that are allied to or close to your final objective, so you learn how the game works, how we interact, and also build a reputation of some sort that proves you're not completely clueless in combat, with or without logistics ships. |

He does make a fair point. Even the lowest of the low can easily get into the best of the best easily. Or difficultly (If that's even a word).
Before specialization, do try other fields. You'd be amazed at how exciting shooting other people is. (Seriously, you'll never wanna shoot rats after that)

From what I know, the only way to uncloak a ship is to go within 2 km of them, or if they go within 2 km of another object. |

They have fantastic logistics and tactics, and are a great example of force multipliers in a well organized fleet.
Also... the narration is IMNSHO a delight to listen to.

And O'Dear, did you happen to stumble across a nice resource site for Logistics you could share? |

FC = Fleet Commander.
He who controls the life of everybody in the fleet. He who gives the orders about where to align, warp and jump (when the FC says JUMP not warp). He who says who to shoot and when to shoot. Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. Neo didnGÇÖt learn Kung-Fu by having it sit in his usb drive.-á If it moves, shoot it. If it doesn't move, poke it with your gun and then shoot it. FC is Fleet Commander, the equivalent of Raid Leader in other MMO's. The person who knows what's going on and gives the orders so that the fleet actually does something coordinated and useful.
You don't necessarily need any particular ship skills for it, but knowing the game, and having a lot of experience with PVP and PVE encounters and how the ships work, is what's required.
This is what large alliances have, and what's typically missing from high-sec corporations.
Fleet Command is a lot of work and frustration. And you also get the blame when things go wrong and people lose their ships. Even if it wasn't your fault. |
