I'm not a goon, but I admire their monopoly and think earnestly attempting to break the game is a respectable pursuit. The only balance issue is that of too much easy isk throwing off the risk:reward ratio, working as intended. |

Remove moon go from moons and put it in belts to be mined IMO. Give the isk to members to be taxed by Corps who are in turn taxed by Alliances.
It is funny how when Russians were good at diplomacy and were invading north with more supers than goons and their pets/friends that they were nerfed in short order. Meanwhile moon go on the other hand is left unbalanced for years on end... |

If you are judging Goons based on GD, you will learn to hate them. You see what they want you to see.
The truth is, they are one of the most loyal and potent Allies to have in EVE. They don't have strong Blues because they are a paper dragon. They have strong blues because they are worthy. I don't get why they take the facade to the extreme they do but it doesn't do them any justice. If they were really that big of a bunch of assholes, FA and Test would have turned on them by now and ripped them to shreds.
Politics in EVE are what they are because they need to be. Blob works in EVE. Anything they have tried to make work without Blob, worked better with Blob.
Goons have said they don't think they should be sitting on the biggest ISK transfer account in the game and be the only ones. But they have shared that. They didn't break treaty with NC dot. NC dot decided NAP training was boring and waged a war. I've watched the -A- machine do its thing. If they were in power, You would want goons back. Misguided facade intact. |

You let us know how that goes.
As for the OPs question, I am not qualified to speak about the Goons and their possessions. However, i am qualified to agree that Lvl 4s have been turned into a joke, nerfed to the point of being halfway useless. As someone who has done them for more than a couple of years, I remember when doing Lvl 4s would net you some scratch, enough to go out and PvP with the disposable income. But these days, they just aren't as lucrative anymore, and certainly not enough to go blow up some ships like I used to. The economy is in the crapper and the answer here seems to be to flush repeatedly until, I don't know...profit? For whom?
I suppose that if CCP makes a use for metal scraps, there might be more incentive to do them, and thus make more money, and thus go out and explore and get into fights. But a smart man doesn't fly what he can't afford to lose. The ironic part is that all those who wanted more PvP and railed against PvE did themselves a disservice as well. It is disheartening to see a game once steeped in cerebral thought and innovative thinking become so homogenized by entitlement and malaise; that indidviduals should instill a theme park existence through a lack of desire to overcome any and all obstacles and instead demand things be made easier for them via nerfs. |

I can't speak for you, but when I run level 4's on my alt I still "net me some scratch."

Sure. Rifters ARE cheap enough, no arguments there. But modding, rigging and loading them is a bit more expensive than it used to be. And what about if I have a wild urge to go lose a Cane somewhere? Well, the only missions that even come close to that are GE and AE, around 60 mil each in total completion bounties, which ranks as the highest Lvl 4 mission bounty payout that I am aware of in hisec. So while I could use that money to blow on a ship, I still have to cough up the isk for everything else, and that's another 20 to 30 million, give or take. Now while that situation certainly sounds ideal, juicy even, there arises the issue of not having either one of those missions being offered by any of my agents in the last few months. Maybe it's just me, but it still cuts into revenue nonetheless.
Add to that the fact that while the costs of ships, mods, ammo, etc. has gone up, my income has actually dropped. Don't even get me started on salvaging and looting either. I am regretting taking the time to train those skills up to max, only to make away with nearly 150 units of metal scraps, not including the loot of metal scraps. At this point, I should have just trained up to four and saved myself a little time for use on other skills. I understand that it does not guarantee the juicy salvage everytime, but taking the time to train skills up should yield better rewards, yes? Isn't that what this game is about? Cause and effect? Action and consequence?
As for the ship, I have been using the exact same ship for the past year or so, with the exact same set-up and the exact same research into how best to tackle each mission with the exact same ammo and the exact same tactics in the mission. I don't think the heavy missile nerf has even hit yet, has it? You'll have to forgive me, I failed to notice the date stated, presuming that it will drop with Retribution on the 4th.
I'm not asking for fountains of isk to shower upon my naked bosom, or for there to be no risk whatsoever. I just want to see the last nerf or two rolled back, so I can start building up some disposable income again. I don't think that I should get the same amount of isk doing the same thing that my nulsec counterparts do either, there is a distinct difference between the two sections. There's a reason they get more, and I am ok with that, I would just like to see what I used to get, that's it. I don't always want to sit here with an abacus wondering if I might be short-changing myself for the approaching month. I do enjoy PvP in Eve, I still think it has some of the best mechanics for it out of all the MMOs I have played. But as an old fart sitting behind the keyboard, just because I am willing to take risks with ships, doesn't mean I am so carefree with my finances. Actions and consequences and all that. It is disheartening to see a game once steeped in cerebral thought and innovative thinking become so homogenized by entitlement and malaise; that indidviduals should instill a theme park existence through a lack of desire to overcome any and all obstacles and instead demand things be made easier for them via nerfs. |

I don't see the connection between Goons holding a lot of null and improving the game. T2 is reasonably priced, I wished it was distributed better outside of Jita, I haven't seen a Goon that wasn't blue for years, never been fired upon by one, ganked or scammed. As long as the politics are out of General discussion I'm Happy. Our new mods made it a place for discussing the game instead of politics. Things are cool. Goons are running the game just fine.
Now I wish they spread the stuff around a little bit. I liked t2 but got tired of going Jita. Its not even Jita, Its those camps that limit what I should haul and don't let me autopilot so I wish Goons would clear up the gatecamps in Highsec, get rid of the bumpers and gankers and stuff like that. I guess they could lobby for better missions and incursions too They really should get us Macros in the Eula and some new sound effects for mining. In my opinion the change in sound of the lazers is what killed mining. They should be binaural beats that slip you in and out of theta and delta. Maybe even some scientifically erotic rumbles. 2.5 hz I think for that special stimulation. Yeah some good sound, a gentle Bee buzz like my zipper running up and down at 2.5. |

Sounds like CCP fixed things well. The Goons took advantage of it. But how much screaming, yelling and crusing will be done when CCP "fixes" Technetium.
Quote:"They never should have let Goons or anyone else, sit on Tech moons for almost 2 years and counting. Meanwhile nerfing drone regions, incursions, and mission drops/bounties. Null sec sites and running lvl 4's in npc nullsec takes no coordination, are easier, and make more isk than incursions ever did, guess who got nerfed.
Goons have so much isk from tech moons they can afford to setup permanent hulkageddon rewards, ice interdiction, throw away thousands of tornado's in burn jita, while fighting war after war with free ship replacement for the largest blob in eve
With the lucrative income from Tech moons gone, how will the Goons adapt? Or will we watching another BoB implosion? |

How do I "feel"? ehh.. my desire to get involved in the wonders of game politics is limited to almost non-existent. 0.0 pretty much sux for that reason alone, more than just the involvement of the goons in this game, but that certainly a substantial factor in the surmounting problems.
What could be done? Change the EULA to 18yo and older to be a subscriber? I think that would pretty much devastate the goons if enforced, among other such 0.0 groups. |

How exactly do you propose enforcing that? What makes you think CCP restricting its player base is a good idea? What makes you think Goons are, by majority, under 18?
I can tell you right now highsec would be most hurt by such a change. http://themittani.com/features/local-problem A simple fix to the local intel problem |

It seems like all CCP needs to do is change the direction of some of the market forces that prop up the goons. Redistributing the moon tech would be one idea. Implementing more significant upkeep costs on ships and POSs would be another. If the goons really have as many ships/structures as people say then they can certainly afford to spend some on upkeep. Plus since they seem to have a large collection of super caps, if upkeep grew exponentially with ship size they would have to divert significant resources just to maintain their fleet.
Another thing you could do is adjust the sec status of null outside of goonspace. That would give other alliances more resources. You could also just wholesale ban goon members that have made a point of "breaking the game"... Since they have basically become the mexican drug cartels of EvE you could also just do what mexico wants the US to do and "Legalize". By this I mean give out free **** to everyone else in some covert manner.
The list goes on. |

A guy in Jita asked for a full Passive Drake fit, so I gave him one. Had 3 guys LOL the fit. It was what he asked for. It didn't have high EFT because I didn't fit EM on it but for High Sec, you don't need EM. Nobody ganks with Amarr any more. It had 85% on the other three though and a 179 recharge. But the guys LOLing the fit didn't stop to think about the why. The EFT gods said fit that way, so that was the only way to fit. |
