Why havent there been any events lately? The gallente elections would make a great back story for a good amount of smaller events.
Especially with how much these event missions suck it would be great to blow up Foritans Henchmen who tried to run off with Blaque vouchers, in exchange for keeping them.
Why isnt Autrech trying to ship more VIPS to the Syndicate? The previous shipment got blown away qiute some time ago.
I'm sure people can think of a whole lot of other small events to run, please give us a more interesting way to collect some additional vouchers? ---------------------------

They ran out of "Maximum Time Consumption for Minimum Reward" event plots and are now trying to figure out how to convince people to spend 18 hours fighting for a Small Armor Repair I.

Jericho is involved in many Aurora events. You just have to do something interesting that attracts their attention. We have been involved at least slightly in most of the news for the past month. --------------------------------------------------

Trying to pull this back on thread, its been hijacked by the mods, and should be locked.
I agree Joshua, a few events where we can blow up a ship carrying vouchers (i mean a low-sec event, Aurora flown BS or something, not the 1 voucher Velators), or something that would fit in with Autrech (he tips up, asks someone to transport VIPS for him though dangerous space in return for some hefty vouchers)
At the moment, the event is turning into a willpower battle. With complete invisibility of who you are against and how they are doing (which i agree with), then it will come down to who can last the longest with the most cans of red bull before they press the big red X.
food for thought...RV

I agree, we need more events that players can get involved in.
Devalon Haratel dropped out of game before the end of the weekly hauling event, causing diminished and delayed rewards for those that completed his tasks.

It was not his chioce, so don't knock him.

More events means we need more volunteers who set up the aurora event and play in them.

I posted something in another event thread along the lines of:
isd/aurora etc are just volunteers, they need player interaction and encouragement that what they are making (the event) will acutally be half decent and people will enjoy it.
if you want a event, then do you own. just let us all know and the ones who want to perticiapate will show up.

Players dont have anywhere near the resources ISD does. We cant shoot each other in empire for example.
The Old Gang system where could shoot gang members was sort of useful. ---------------------------

Is there not fundamental dilemma?
1. If announce Event long in advance, especially in News, too many players show up and place of Event turns into Lag City.
2. If announce Event only on EVE-channels just before start, too few players can get to place of Event at same time, and/or players arrive with too little preparation -- wrong ship, wrong char, players not organized, whatever.

While you are correct, I do believe there is a solution, more events, if they were frequent, then people woudlnt be upset about having to rush and run unprepared to an event 20jumps away, cause they were at a local one the other night, if events ran regularly, people would be happeh, and you wouldnt have your fundamental dilemma

Another possible solution, how about making the events reasonably interesting to the eve-public so they want to get involved? The past few weeks i've seen Aurora events they've been quite dull, one a few weeks back where 2 guys were in nonni trading contraband and one tonight about foiritan (think thats spelt right) where an actor got ganked by concord, the other actors then had a chat in local then all logged of. How are the public supposed to get interested in events like this when they cant actually participate????

well something wierd happened in Yulai last night. I only caught the last 15mins, but It seems some "blue text" pilots arrived and got offended by one of the two concord stations. One of them fired on a station and got his ship blown up. The player who got his can didn't seem too excited and reported little of interest.
One pilot seemed to be trying to sell amarrian wheat at one point while another was spouting semi philosophical gibberish about honour, death, sick and the asthetic symbolism of stargates.
My first "event" and it was all rather wierd.

Edited by: Joshua Foiritain on 04/05/2005 17:44:48 Aye that one was weird indeed. It wasnt really an event tbh, there was nothing for us to do but follow them around until they logged off.
Their ship dropped nothing interesting so shopoting the rest wouldnt have been useful either.
There where 3 events last night btw, quite shocking to see 3 on one evening
Still no election related events though

If people dont have time to prepare then they need to Train High Speed Manuvering to lvl 1 and buy an MWD.
I have yet to see any form of event where i didnt have time to make an 8 jump detour in my shuttle to pick up a slow ass assault frig. Hell, i often sit around waiting for events to get started.
Also, not all events simply involve you shooting someone for phat lewtÖ. Some are just enterainment and some are preperations for missions that do allow you to shoot people. ---------------------------

The problem with large scale events, as said above is that balancing them so that people can still take part, without putting a big sign up saying 'QUICK EVENT IN THIS SYSTEM - RUN!'.
We are experimenting with using new things to allow us to touch a greater player base whilst still involving actors (npc usage, event agent usage, dungeons), however these are still work in progress, i'm sure you'll notice when we do start using them.
Just a slight note, any piece of IC news you see reported IS related to one of the many event arcs that are taking place at this time, we do not publish news without it either going to have, or have had a certain action taking place ingame.

Edited by: Xtro 2 on 05/05/2005 23:54:34 Dont agents have a "Rumour mill" type ability, why cant future events be seeded out that way at a planned time/place, a few at once in different areas to avoid everyone bailing to the same systems for the same event.
That or put this kind of information into the Billboards so they show more than just poxy adverts and some wanted ads. __________________________________________

Funny, I've applied to Aurora several times, and never got anything back. Not even "Sorry, we don't want you!" email...
I like to think I've been trying to enhance the RP and ingame event life of the eve universe through many vessels. I even did a fiction prologue for one of the beta events way back when for one of the GMs. Had the chat log and material, but that's been lost to time.
Not sure if I will waste my time trying again. Something about wanting to fix inconsistantcies and enhance player-based storylines doesn't sit well with ISD. ____________________________________
