Hi!
We will be holding a mass test on Buckingham on Thursday, November 22nd, at 19:00 UTC (= EVE time). We are aware that this collides with Thanksgivings in the US, but we hope that our players from Europe can fill the ranks.
What exactly is being tested?
- Performance of the Retribution expansion
- New explosions, ship models, ...
- New brackets, new damage notifications
- Payout of bounties
- Crimewatch
How to connect to Buckingham for this test:
Test steps: to be decided
What else should I know?
- We will be moving players to the test system - join the channel massmoveme for this
- Please bring a good mix of ships!
- Skill points will be awarded for this mass test
- Please run logserver during the mass test, if possible.

Lyron-Baktos wrote:What system is it so we can move ships to it ahead of time Not decided yet - it depends on the exact feature list, which will be tested. Feel free to prepare ships in 6-CZ49, you should be able to use the moveme channels then to get them to the correct position. The point is to be able to quickly get another when your first blows up. You do not want your stash of prepared ships to be 20 jumps away. Sure moveme will get return you fast, but you still got to fly the pod to your stash. Ideally, your clone station is the same as the seeded station which are both in the system where any PvP test takes place, which is also where a special moveme sends you. lol, I was thinking the same thing. Since when does "moveme" move your entire hangar as well
Normally both "moveme" and "massmoveme" are online for some time, which can be used to move several ships - but it is clear that it would be better to fit them directly in the correct station.

The test steps have been added to the instructions and we are starting in 6-CZ49. Feel free to bring capital ships, but I would like to see also a good mix of other ships. CCP Habakuk | EVE Quality Assurance | Team Gridlock Writing bug reports | Mass tests

I know, it's tradition to run on Thursday, but in the US, Thursday is Thanksgiving/Turkey Day Friday is All off work, recovering from Thursday, not much to do...
So, that being the case, might a move to Friday be.... a GOOD thing? Just say'n We need to have Friday to look at the results, read logs, process bug reports, etc. Then Friday and Monday to fix the last-minute issues that are reported and on Tuesday 27 Nov we start the release-porting process and begin building release candidates.

Could you also bug someone to have a look at the reasons we can't bug report from Buckingham if our TQ account is inactive? My account lapsed over on TQ for a few days (including the last mass test date) and I couldn't report *anything* as http://bugs.eveonline.com and the In game bug report tool refuse to let you login with an expired account. Also the "save" option on bug reports seems to overwrite itself so if you save one, then save another, the first is lost :/ You need to have an active subscription. Erlendur S. You say a good mix of ships - if i turned up with a couple of BS or BC fitted in the local station would that be suitable, is there scope to test the new destroyers in this action Yeah, feel free to show up with these ships. Fit a few spare ships, if you plan to show up with destroyers. ;)
Quote:you mention fleet X and Y - do we form these up ourselves or do you guys just split us evenly We will form fleet - just follow the instructions in the MOTD of the MassTesting channel before the test ( http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Mass_testing also covers the normal procedures)
Quote:Setting up Buckingham - i already have a recent version of Buckingham from a few days ago. Will there be a reasonable patch before we start, if so do you have an estimated size (assuming my character has been reactivated for buckingham that is) The patch size should be comparably small, but I don't know which version you have. We will very likely also deploy a new version later today to fix some bugs.
Quote:Log server - does this live in our eve install folder, and where/how do we pass the info from this on to you Yes, it lives in the eve install folder (see http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Logserver for more info). Please send the zipped logs with a bug report to us, but only if you encountered bugs during the test.

Because our bug reporting system can receive bug reports from client from multiple test servers and Tranquility but only uses one, Tranquility, for authentication.

Because our bug reporting system can receive bug reports from client from multiple test servers and Tranquility but only uses one, Tranquility, for authentication. And there is no way around this? It seems pretty silly that I could find a bug report on Bucky but be unable to report it *just* because Im no longer an active subscriber at the time. The easiest work-around is for you to renew the subscription
Thanks for participating on Buckingham, what did you encounter that you wanted to report? Erlendur S. Thorsteinsson | Software Director | EVE Online, CCP Games | Follow on: Twitter / Google+ |
