Edited by: Van Cleef on 26/04/2005 19:29:35 CALDARI INDEPENDENT NAVY RESERVE PRESS RELEASE
A Call To Arms!
What is it to be Caldari?
Caldari is a state built with the ideas and the drive that has allowed us to achieve great standing among the Empires. We have faced countless adversaries, from the Fighting off the Gallente Oppression, to Wars with Pirate Factions and Mercenaries; the State of Caldari has fought for our people with the blood of countless generations. Through our ancestors we have flourished into what it is now.
The People of Caldari are known and admired throughout the Galaxy as valiant and fearsome warriors, as wise merchants and efficient businessmen.
Dark times have descended upon the Empires. Corporate infighting, treachery and incompetence by Concord, Pirates controlling Choke Points on our Stargates. It is up to the People of Caldari to again rise to the challenge and help make Caldari stronger than ever before.
The Caldari Independent Navy Reserve (CAIN) was founded by most Ex-Caldari Navy Citizens released from active duty. CAIN was founded by people who want Caldari to not only equal the other Empires but to surpass them. The citizens of our state are the finest in the Galaxy, and we deserve the best.
CAIN is not a radical warmongering corporation set out to destroy the other Empires. We are here to help Caldari thrive, from the week old shipman just out of the War Academy to the Veteran Combat Pilot in his new Navy Raven. We ARE the premier Caldari Role Playing Corporation, and we would like your help.
We seek individuals that do not define themselves as Caldari solely by how much they hate other Empires, but that take pride in what being Caldari means. We accept our citizens with open arms.
As a CAIN member you are an independent contractor working with freedom. There are not any forced obligations to the Corporation. No mining requirements, no log in requirements. We assist each other in Empire missions, Trade, Escorts, Complexes, whatever we need to help each other. We expect each CAIN member to handle themselves with the personal dignity and respect that is common for a Fleet Officer.
If you think you can muster the strength to hold the line with fellow citizens, contact us at channel CAIN, or visit our brand new forums at http://p097.ezboard.com/bcaldariindependantnavyreserve.

Alright, yes, Gallente. Right, right, fine, get over it. I just wanted to give a friendly bump to this group because most of the time we will probably be on opposite sides of the ..... issues .
Good luck in your recruiting and I'll look forward to seeing you all in space and on GalNet. -

With CAIN joining the Caldari Alliance that is in the works, we are on the doorstep to joining into something much larger.
With CAIN, you can not only get experience and help with mundane things like Empire Missions, help with game mechanics, and introduction into PVP, but future events which may help shape the Empire. ------------------------------------------------ Serve the State Join Channel CAINCOM |

Another misconception of what CAIN is seems to be that we are pigeon holed into a Corp that does missions only. CAIN is a full corporation, and while a lot of our members DO missions, we also do everything else a corporation does, including mining, NPC hunts, you name it. You don't need to be a mission runner to find a home in CAIN, you just need to believe in Caldari and be willing to defend it.

Edited by: Dev Larren on 09/05/2005 21:39:43 Potential candidates should review the following:
Caldari Independent Navy Reserve Code of Conduct
Definitions i) CAIN refers to the Caldari Independent Navy Reserve. ii) CAIN Officer refers to any pilot who has been accepted as a member by CAIN command and given the rights and responsibilites of a Navy Officer with rank of Midshipman or higher. iii) Officer, unless otherwise stated, refers to a CAIN Officer. iv) Command Rank refers to any officer with the rank of Captain or higher. v) Navy, unless otherwise stated refers to the Caldari Navy.
Articles of Conduct 1. CAIN is primarily a Navy Reserve organisation. While Officers are entitled to pursue individual goals and careers they must at some time serve the Caldari Navy. Service at least once a month with an Agent of the Caldari Navy would be considered a minimum. Service with other Caldari Corps is also encouraged especially with those where research and development ultimately benefits the Caldari Navy.
2. CAIN observes the laws and foreign policy of the Caldari State. This includes observing the regulations of CONCORD so long as the Caldari State remains a member of that accord. Officers must abide and uphold these laws.
3. CAIN Officers, whenever possible, will render assistance to Caldari pilots who are operating on behalf of the Navy or on behalf of corps that are deemed to be allied with CAIN.
4. CAIN Officers may not serve agents of foreign navies or other military force. However the exception to this is the Mordu Command which is regarded as an allied Navy. CAIN officers wishing to work with a foreign military training organisation must gain secondment permission from a command officer.
5. While CAIN Officers are expected to observe the traditions of the Navy, rank and the appropriate formal respect need only be shown in the initial greeting. Thereafter more casual forms of address and interaction are encouraged.
6. CAIN Officers should use Caldari combat ships in order to promote the superiority of those vessels. However the use of foreign vessels is not completely prohibited.
7. In honourable combat a CAIN Officer does not seek to destroy an emergency pod. Honourable combat is deemed to be where the opponent is an officer of a corp with similar credentials to CAIN or an officer in the service of any Navy. Criminal opponents, opponents who have themselves fought dishonourably, or opponents deemed by CAIN to be allowed no quarter need not be afforded the protection of this regulation.
8. CAIN Officers by action or admission will not bring disrepute to The Caldari Independent Navy Reserve or the Caldari Navy. Officers will be vigilant of Conduct Unbecoming of an Officer in themselves and other officers.
9. By action or admission a CAIN Officer must not betray the Caladri State or work against the interests of the Cladari State.
Disciplinary Procedures 1. Actions by officers that are suspected to violate the Articles of Conduct should be brought to the immediate attention of an officer of command rank.
2. A hearing should be conducted by two officers of command rank and any decision must be unanimous. Where this is not possible another officer can be invited to the hearing help resolve any deadlock.
3. A disciplinary hearing must interview the officer being considered and may interview other officers or witnesses.
Sanctions 1. Reduction in Rank. Although in a voluntary organisation this is not an effective sanction it may be used to publicly admonish an officer and restore public faith in CAIN in the case of a minor offence.
2. Dismissal will be used in more serious cases either permanent or temporary depending on circumstances as decided by the hearing. In the case of temporary dismissal the officer will be informed of the conditions under which they can return.
3. Banishment is only to be used in the most serious of offences such as treason. The officer will be deemed an enemy of CAIN and given no quarter in future encounters. In the case of action that has also led to the officer being criminally-flagged, CAIN my place a bounty on their head.

Citizens of the Caldari State,
As the vanguard defense and security pod pilot paramilitary corporation to the Caldari State, your protection and safety are the foremost concern of our operations. We operative on a daily basis removing threats to your travel through Caldari State territory, and enforcing Caldari State interests.
The Caldari Independent Navy Reserve (CAIN) is happy to announce the conclusion of the intracorporation Condor Challenge. As one of many upcoming field training exercises, dubbed "Operation: Phalanx", we are subjecting our pilots to an increasing level of combat challenges to ensure combat readiness and sharp thinking under hostile fire.
We are proud to announce the champion of the Condor Challange is Sub-Lieutenant Ardan Sirion.
With the information gathered from this FTX operation, we are confidant that we have ensured the best possible setup and tactics needed to operate the fine frigate-class Condor in regular combat and patrol operations.
Hard work does not go unrewarded. SLT. Sirion has been awarded the CAIN Commendation Medal, a certificate of achievement, and a bonus of two high end implants to reinforce positive results.
Notable runner ups Lt. La'Zie (Second Place) and Lt. Helpdesk (Third Place) and were also awarded a certificate of achievement and a bonus of several implants to reinforce positive results.
CAIN would like to thank Captain Plasmatique for her selfless service for the donation of both the spacecraft used in the event and the prizes awarded to the fine pilots.
We are forever vigilant, citizens.
- Lieutenant Klaus Fleischer, PR Officer
OOC: We just held our first intracorp challenge, 1v1 Condor fights, using basic unnamed modules. It was a hellava lot of fun to take part in. We plan on doing similar challenges in the future.
So those unsure as to their PvP capability, we invite Caldari of all skill levels to join CAIN and find your potential. _

Not to toot our own horn too much, but apparrently we're succeeding in our goal as a recognized Caldari corp. We got a little nod from an NPC response in the Ullia Hnolku thread found in the Intergalatic Summit.
Linkage
However, talking a lot only gets us so far, and we are still searching for a few good Caldari citizens to help build a strong corporation foremost and an identifiable name in RP secondly.
Don't be dissuaded by the term RP, as it's not enforced, only encouraged. We have plenty of members willing to put forth RP, so additional work in this area is not required.
Join CAIN today, and become something greater. _

I am proud to announce that CAIN has passed the half way marker on its current recruitment goal, which is 50 members. Those that have either come forth on their own, inquired about us, or been introduced to us, have been of excellent quality.
We may not have strict recruitment rules, aside from applicants being Caldari in race, but we don't engage in runaway expansion.
We perform a thourogh background check on all possible applicants, checking previous emplyment records, faction standings, and security status. A personal interview is conducted by either myself or another high ranking officer with the applicant. Only then, if the security index and the interview is satisfactory, will the applicant be offered employment in CAIN.
So if you're a Caldari citizen of good morales and a patriotic spirit, CAIN has what you are looking for. _

I note all these rules about complying with the law and not annoying Concord, but I assume that doesn't stop the membership taking an occasional pot shot at the Gallente (NPC) in Empire or anything at all in 0.0?
Not that I, personally, would ever do any such thing, you understand.

Maybe a career with the Emissaries would be more to your liking. Taking the occasional pot shot at the corporate convoys (NPC) and taking down the odd Caldari Navy vessel (NPC/PC)

I think you missed the point KK. I am loyal Caldari. I had the Guristas at -9.9 at one point (although not been busy lately ).
(whispers) I was talking about killing Gallente . But don't tell anyone! We don't want to upset Concord too much.
Anyway, could someone from CAIN let me know where they stand on ...... privateering?

As for direct privateer assistance for CAIN, again there is no official stance, but those of the right mind set and loyalty to the State can identify themselves in our public channel CAINCOM, where you can explain your abilities for possible exchanges of services.
Reguarding popping Gallente property, well, we haven't done it yet. We were considering it as a possible catalyst to get people involved in the Gallente RP side, but last night's events with the Ullia Saga showed that the Gallente are quite willing to scramble and face off toe to toe with us. It's an option, just gotta wait for the Devs to stop tinkering with the convoys. _

Ehm, Kotaro Kosakami, you may want to make your own thread concerning YOUR OWN recruitment. Not to be rude, but there are rules about thread hijacking.
Anyway, I'd like to update on people as to the recent activities CAIN has been up to.
Thursday night, CAIN participated in the storyline event concerning the wayard Caldari scientist, Dr, Ullia Hnolku, who was attempting to develop a cure for vitoc by calling out for help from interested corporations. The original post by the doctor can be found here. As a Caldari RP corp, we sought to bring in the doctor and have him face justice, not spread the cure.
We faced many opposing forces, and were out numbered by the collection of Gallente RP corporations there and the appearance of the Ushra'Khan alliance. Only when Amarrian RP corporations showed up did the numbers even up a little. Never the less, it did not look go for us.
Only with determination, and a stroke of incredible luck, did we manage to destroy the doctor, having asked him to give himself up. We were faced with a grim decision of having to kill the doctor. But we were more than willing to sacrifice sec status and our ships to end his fugitive run. And we succeeded.
A press release of the post-event can be found here.
A Eve-Guardian news item about the step-by-step procession of events can be found here.
We are forever vigilant. _
