Hello forum people!
As you may know, Retribution will introduce the Large Micro Jump Drive: A module that propels the user forward 100km after a 12 second spool-up GÇô this is reduced with the skill Micro Jump Drive Operation GÇô and which has a 3 minute cool-down; from the moment the module is activated.
Now, most of us know the cloak-MWD trick, where a ship can cloak while aligning, and then jump into warp right away. I shouldn't have to recap how it works, but in case you've never heard of it: Hit align (not warp) to your destination.
Hit your Cloak and quickly hit your MWD (green ring).
Deactivate your MWD (red ring).
When your MWD cycle is about to end, stop your cloak and hit warp.
That is, of course, unless they have a bubble. Used to be, in that situation, youGÇÖd have to cross your fingers and hope for the best as you slow-boat out of the bubbles under cloak. No more. The MJD allows you to ignore all but the largest bubble camps.
In case of bubbles: Hit align (not warp) to your destination.
Hit your Cloak and quickly hit your MWD (green ring) and your MJD.
Deactivate your MWD (red ring).
Wait for your MJD to cycle, it will jump you 100km forward and keep your momentum intact!
De-cloak and warp.
ItGÇÖs that simple. Well... almost. Here are some caveats: This trick can only be done with Battleships (for now).
This trick requires MJD Operation IV.
The MJD has a very noticeable visual effect that plays even while cloaked.
The cool-down on the MJD is three minutes (!). You may want to warp to a planet or safe and cloak for a minute or two after using this trick.
ThatGÇÖs it! Emergent module use at its finest. Enjoy!

Should be pretty easy to get a ship with a scram within decloak range of a battleship in 12 seconds. Further, battleships are generally easy to chase.
Interesting, but I don't see it ushering in a new era of 0.0 BS shuttles. |

I believe that this will lead to a great many pilots thinking, that they can easily get their BS through 0.0. In turn the fact that most gatecamps are utterly horrible at decloaking anything coupled with the visibility of the MJD effect even under cloak, this will might result in more BS kills for half decent gatecamps and less BS kills for terrible gatecamps. Therefore I see this as a possibility to reward competent players and punish terrible players, which in itself is great. Disregarding of course the fact that gatecamps in general do not require a lot of skill. However if gatecamping is your style, this might reward you for getting better at it. |

Kahega Amielden wrote:Should be pretty easy to get a ship with a scram within decloak range of a battleship in 12 seconds. 9 Seconds with MJD Operation 5. And there is a delay between entering de-cloak range and the target popping up on the overview. Bumping doesn't prevent the MJD from firing either. So in the worst scenario, your Interceptor pilots have 9 seconds to de-cloak, lock, and scram the BS. That's not a lot of time.

Neither did the cloak-MWD trick. That's not really the point though. It's an evolution to an existing tactic.

I wish more gatecamps weren't terrible. Most fall short because... they're drunk? As for the MJD effect, it's not that visible until you actually jump. You could quite easily miss it in a bubble graphic. I certainly hope gate camps step up their game in response. |

Pretty sure you can't activate 2 propulsion modules at once, unless the MJD works differently. |

MJD takes what? a full minute to cycle? anyone who cant decloak and scram a BS in less than 60sec shouldnt be anywhere near a gate camp. |

The length of the MJD cycle is anywhere from 12 to 9 seconds depending on the level of your MJD Operation skill. The MJD needs 3 minutes of cool-down from the moment you activate the module. Unfortunately, the module doesn't give a visual indicator of when you can use it again.
Hope that helps. |

Not to be a complete buzzkill, but the fact that MJD + MWD activation works on Buckingham isn't really a guarantee that it will work in final release. I was under the impression that the MJD would abide to the general prop mod restrictions. That impression isn't really based on anything solid, but my first point still stands. |

Or CCP might impose such a restriction in a later patch (I doubt they will though). The MJD trick will still be a viable tactic even if you can't punch the MWD at the same time. |

Given that the best bubble camps are on constellation and regional gates, a vast majority of which are off the ecliptic, the key to efficient bubble camping is to have a ceptor 100km away towards the main cluster within a bunch of small bubbles. Numpty mc buttface then has to do the MJD jump 100km and lands in a bubble. Trololol.
Stupid module. Taking submissions for "Trinkets friendly Advice Column" via evemail or private convo in-game. Anonymity sorta guaranteed.

Does the MJD still spool up when you are scrammed but just not jump upon cycle completion or does it instantly stop spooling when scrammed? If the former I'm guessing Allign -> MJD -> ECM Burst just before MJD cycle completion would be potentially better then your 'MJD Cloak Trick'.
An even better and easier to pull off trick is the 'Have Bloody Intel And Don't Jump Solo BSs Around 0.0 As Its Idiotic Trick', I find it has a suprisingly high success rate. It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine. |

The Attributes tab for module I've seen to-date have actively listed BSs, BOBSs, and Marauders as ships that can use it.
So yes, I think so. Applied Creations is recruiting. Mystic Volundar says, "It could be you! " |

interesting.... i hope this could work, though you do have a problem, if you use the MJD/ECM burst trick there is a "chance" of it not working, not based off of skill sets and attention but game mechanics, and i can have a longer scram range then ECM burst range |
