Hey i just got my stabber a few days ago, i have a question... Is it even possible to get 1000+ power grid on it? right now i have 747.50 and barely any skills for powergrid , low int, low mem, and no equipment that boost the power grid. Someone said it is possible but wouldnt be a good idea. But witht he right skills could it be sufficent to use cruise missles on a cruiser?

Edited by: Ortu Konsinni on 25/04/2005 19:50:53 Some cruisers will allow it but it also means gimping your setup so bad that all you're good for is shooting one cruise missile every 25 seconds or so. If you have the 1000 powergrid, you can fit a cruise launcher, it's not limited by your ship class.

k, thanks for the fast reply. Is it possible to get my stabber over 1500 power grid if i train every skill there is for it, and get the best equipment to boost up the power grid?

Edited by: Ortu Konsinni on 25/04/2005 19:56:12 The most you could get with normally-priced equipment would be ~1235. That's with Engineering V and 3 Reactor Control Units II in your 3 low slots. Those require Energy Grid Upgrades 5 and give a 15% boost to your powergrid. Then there's faction loot, but the price for 1 module is in the dozens of millions, so I doubt you'll want to fit a stupid Stabber with one such module just to fit a cruise launcher :p

I dont think it's possible on a Stabber, but the big question is- why would you want to? The big suprise of a cruise launching cruiser would work maybe twice, but as soon as you fired it you would be a sitting duck because you oculdnt fit any repairers or med slot items
So your answer is, on some ships maybe, but not on the Stabber. Ask yourself why you would want to... you would probably do more damage with a normal setup.

ill prove you all wrong!!! muwahahahahaha. Im going to try it out anyways :). Im guessing it will take a few weeks to a month to get all my skills for it and the equipment plus the money to buy the best stuff. Ill get back to you guys when i do test it out and we shall see. It will probaly be a crappy set up but right now im only using 200-300 powergrid and im using 2xheavy missle launchers (forgot the name but there good), 4x280mm howitzers tech 1, 10 mn? after burner and a damage something kit. If i were to use a cruise missle launcher, 1 heavy missle launcher, and the rest of the setup, it could actually work effectivly dont you guys think?

No, I don't.
However, if you're really keen to fit a cruise missile launcher on a cruiser-sized ship, plus being able to outfit the rest of the vessel normally, then I have a word to share with you: "Ferox".

By using RCUs II in your low slot you're gimping your setup pretty bad, but you're welcome to try. RCUs II aren't very expensive (<2M), by the way, so it shouldn't be too hard to buy them. If you want the absolute best stuff, then you're looking at Chelm's Modified Reactor Control Unit which gives a 18.6% boost to your powergrid. It'll also cost 50M at the very least just for one of these, and you want 3 ideally :p

Hmmmm, what if i were to go with a rupture, its more slow but its more of a tank and also has more cpu and power grid right?

Yeah, the Rupture is the strongest of the Minmatar cruisers, and you'll have less trouble hitting 1500 powergrid with it, but I still say it's not a good idea :)

You can fit 2 cruise launchers on a Sacrilege with 5 rcu IIs. It's useless but you can do it. ________________________________________________________

Edited by: Akaviri on 25/04/2005 20:37:47 Rupture should be able to fit a cruise launcher and so can the Moa.
Here's a somewhat decent setup on the Moa. I would never use it for PvP, but if you just want to play around with cruise missles it's fun for a while.
Hi: Cruise Launcher, Assault Launcher, 4x 150mm Rails Mid: 10mn AB, Med Shield Booster, 2x Hardener Low: 4x Power Diagnostic II
You'll need engineering 5 to fit it, otherwise you can swap out Power Diagnostic II's for Reactor Controls. It has a decent tank and can handle lvl 3 complexes. A regular Moa setup is probably better for anything harder. ````````````` _ |\_ ````````````` \` oo\ ````````_____/ =__Y= `````` /` `````` ) `_``` / ` , ``` \/\_.(\_/) ((____| `` )_--\ \_-`(x.x) `------'`------` `--` (> <) Kitty pwns Bunny! |

ew, i hate the look of the rupture, looks retarded. I know looks isnt much but it is to me, i like the way the stabber looks. Its faster the it, but once i get my navigation skills up and go faster does it really effect combat a lot?

Depends on the situation. If you can go faster, you can increase your transverse and cause problems with your enemies tracking, resulting in less hits. If they're using shorter-ranged weapons than you, you can maintain a positional advantage, not just to keep them in optimal but also to keep out of their effective range. Given the Stabber gets a rather tasty speed bonus, I'd recommend maximising that advantage and using it as best you can. __________________ Interstellar joy-rider |
