They are scanner probes, given that they already difficult to use, they damn better do a good job of detecting stuff within their range
Just let people set filters on all possible objects, just like in Overview

Even if you cannot find the acceleration gate you can find his ship no? and if u can select warp to his ship then you can get to the gate, if you have been in a gang and warped to someone in a deadspace complex then you should have noticed that u end up at the entrance to the complex

yes..but problem is that there can be lots of other BS's in space...and you cant even see what type of BS it is...
