Shinra Pilots,
I want you to know that Saladin, Myself, and many of our members have a lot of respect for the majority of you. We didn't want to fight you, and we tried our hardest to convince you that we are not the enemy. I want to show you why we refused to NAP ATUK and any corporation that associated with them. The NAP comes with a package, you buy it all or you don't buy it at all ;). But i do not see a problem in thet blog. There is no mention of Shinra as corporation. Though i see Burn Eden (UDIE) mentioned, and SHIN RA is UDIE member (note the space :p).
So i think you misunderstood.

The picture of me used in this blog came from a post on the Shinra forums where people were asked to post their rl pictures for fun.
I'm sure this seems funny to many of you, but for me, an Arab and a Muslim this is obscene out of character racism. |

And in reference to your question about Shinra's involvement? Well originally thelung had a rl picture of Saladin posted, superimposed over a picture of ***** Bin Ladin. This picture was originally posted on a Shinra forum, and obviouslly provided by a Shinra member. In addition, Lallente felt the need to comment "Looks like it's ***** Bin Saladin". Smack talk is ok, that um, drivel? no drivel's not strong enough, that garbage is actually quite sickening both physically and mentally.....the idea behind racism eludes me, the color of ones skin is irrelevant, as is their religion. A total lack of respect for everyone and everything is what I saw in that blog.
But I am a firm believer in freedom of speech , which in this case really really sucks. Luckily if you ever see garbage like that in game there's the block button, and for the internet you can simply click "back".

I've been playing Eve for quite a while now, and while the other BoB guys are actually pretty cool (RKK, BNC and a few others) I have never seen a post come from an ATUK member that was not negative.
I'm not sure why that is.

First of all, he didnt get the picture from our forums as he doesnt have access to our private boards. It has NOTHING to do with Shinra. In fact, I was asked to make sure other Botox, ex-Shinra guys did have their pictures on our forums anymore. They had all be removed for some time.
Again, this has NOTHING to do with Shinra.
Also, despite it being rather outlandish I think its pretty funny ****. It's clearly designed to **** ppl off and he seems to have done that rather well. I don't agree with most of it, but it is humerous to me.

I never thought I'd read anything worse than what he says in local...
I was wrong. Out of all the people I've played with or against in this game I respect Atuk the least. That is based purely on the actions of thelung and a half dozen others in Atuk who try so hard to be like him. Pvp qualities aside, in character or not, asshats like this should be forced to play by themselves where they don't make anyone else dumber just by talking.

For the rest who is trying to make soem big poltical whine fest over this go get some cheese.... the only person he didnt bash was girls i should sue for being left out :)

People can say what they like, it is called freedom of speech for a reason. You also connot judge the whole corp on the views of one person but allowing him to continue in ATUK says that they agree with his views and are happy for him to air them, that is not so good.
I never really hated people that smack or say they are L33t, like ATUK do simply becasue its funny to read and ATUK can back up in game what they claim on the forums.

For what it's worth, Darken, I wouldn't post stuff such as lung has done and I sure as hell am not going to criticise him and / or ask him to cease doing so if that's what he wants to do. It makes me laugh at the extremity of it, I find it funny for the same reason as I find Chubby Brown and things like Bottom, funny.
imo it's obviously meant to be funny, humour is just about the most subjective concept in the world and people are trying to dictate what he should and should not do? He's not incited anything, he's posted vitriol against people as is his right in the democratic and free society in which we live - we're not the thought police, it's obviously designed to wind people up and make them hate him, seems pretty damn effective to me.

As we all know RL insults in a game are the last way of a helpless, dumb and ignorant little kid to attack his opponent. Mr. thelung187 seems to be cowering in some corner of his room already, quivering of fear that [G] might come after his corp some day again.

Noones pushing opinions on him, what everyone is saying is that it was unnecessary for him to make OOG racist jokes about the rl person behind other players.
