So...someone convo'd me while I was flying out of Dodixie tonight. Because it was Dodixie and because I was in an extra special mood ... (Not in the mood to diplomatically engage said person in an effort to determine whether or not they were a griefer / scammer or just a curious noob) ... yet still wanting cheap entertainment I accepted the chat request and said...
"Oh boy...what fresh hell is this?"
I meant it in more of a tongue-in-cheek AndWhatScamDoYouHaveForMeToday kind of way but the person immediately clicked out of the conversation which, of course, made me laugh.
It also reminded me when "Look at" and "Start Conversation" were right next to one another. (they aren't anymore are they?)
Anyway...most of us have done it...went to check someone's info and started a convo by mistake...just thought I'd see if there were any funny stories that started out with an "Accidental" conversation?

I had set a route going from Jita, Rens, Amarr and Dodixie then back to Jita as I often do on Sundays and turn the autopilot on. I'm casually watching space pass by while I watch TV on the other screen and flip through a book. When much to my surprise I notice a curious, common occurrence in the local tab. A name which would pop in, as I was 10 or so seconds from popping out. I pondered the possibility that this person was doing the exact same thing as I, but dismissed it as a near impossibility. Only half-way through my route did my curiosity almost get the best of me and just as I was about to click convo I decided against it. Only to see a convo request pop up only moments later. It was the pilot I had started to suspect was following me. As it turned out it was on fact by coincidence and we soon became best friends, married and now we're divorced. |

Some people don't know that to do a show info on someone ingame, they can just double click on their portrait in the chat channel. These people tend to right click and show info in the context menu. In the context menu show info and start conversation are next to each other.
This may be why you received a conversation request out of thin air.

I have the trouble with accidentally click give money instead of another one of the right click menu options.
Thank god for my wallet there is a pop up in which you need to specify which amount you want to sent, or else I would be broke a long time ago |
