About a week ago I noticed that Eve was totally inaccessible from my household. This goes as far as eveonline.com and websites which pull data from the eve databases not working correctly.
Now, as soon as I load up my vpn client everything works fine. So my connection to eve is being blocked somewhere.
I doubt it's CCP blocking me, because a) If I had been naughty they would ban my chars not block my IP b) I am a rule following pilot.
So as a result, it must be my ISP doing it. I live in the UK and my ISP is SKY.
Anyone else have/had this problem? Has this happened before? Why would they do this? |

Is it just the eve site? can you get into game ok?
I would suggest flushing your DNS cache and maybe trying open dns? sounds like a DNS issue... (if it is just the site)

I'm not sure if it would provide any useful information, but you can try and trace the route to some of the hosts you can't access, it may tell you what the problem is. GÇ£The best way to keep something bad from happening is to see it ahead of time, and you can't see it if you refuse to face the possibility.GÇ¥-á |

Is your IP address in the 2.*.*.* range? If it is then its likely to be an old ACL (access control list) on a router somewhere between you and the Eve cluster.
The addresses were released to Sky about a year ago but bogon filtering on the ranges is still sometimes an issue.
There is no generic problem with Sky and Eve that I've seen..... |

I had a similar issue last week - teamspeak was working fine, but I could not log into EVE Online and certain websites for a few hours, while the rest of the internet seemed accessible without problems. Switching from my local DNS to google's DNS service didn't help. Considering that I am in Central America I doubt very much that we have the same ISP, so I speculate that the problem was somewhere a little closer to CCP's end of the network and it was a network issue, not an "ISP is blocking my account" issue. |

Let me clarify: It's both the game and the website. It started over a week ago so it's not the patch (how could a patch effect the website? think before you speak )
My IP is of the format is: 90.xxx.xxx.xxx so I guess it's not the ACL issue.
Traceroute looks like this:
Quote: 1 <1 ms * 1 ms myrouter.home [192.1 2 584 ms 531 ms 500 ms cr2.sdbgnrr.uk.easyn 3 * * * Request timed out. 4 * * * Request timed out. 5 * * * Request timed out. 6 * * * Request timed out. 7 * * * Request timed out. 8 * * * Request timed out.

Someone in my household phoned them up, they said it was because out internet was being slow and you need fast internet for it... LOL
So they gave them some bullshit which doesn't even make sense, but at least it works now :/ |
