Would be a neat feature to see how many kills my ship has under its belt, before being destroyed. This would be NPC as well as player ships. Neat for ratting, and ofc. pvp.
Just adds to the fleshing out of ships. Now the only unique thing we can do to a ship is type in a name.
Just a quick thought. |

I was thinking about this as well, more in the form of stripes on the wing or across the Hull. Every Capsuleer kill was a Red stripe, every NPC kill was a green stripe, different colors for different NPC/Player factions.
+1 to this idea. |

Wouldn't bother with rat kills, other than officer spawns. I don't want a neon green tengu.
Would also be nice for a small choice of kill marks; stripes, tallys, skulls, bombs, etc... MODULAR DRONES

I think you'd need 1 stripe for every 1000 npc kills, you'd run out of room on some ships TK is recruiting |

People tend to hate the killmail culture at times, but I like this idea.
Just a minor issue that comes in mind: What to do when you repackage the ship? Should the counter vanish?

My thoughts on that is.. hmm, yeah. Repackaging a ship would reset the counter, but you'd get a warning first before repackaging, and the warning will tell you specifically about the counter.
I also see some of you have mentioned that you don't see the need for rat kills counted.. and I can live with that. But we defo need the pvp counter.. to motivate more pvp. More votes please... lets get ccp's attention. |

Meanwhile, the idea isn't from me but I took the habit of adding a roman number to my ships name everytime I destroy another ship. So in my hangar I've got a bunch of:
buzz IV buzz III buzz I etc...

2 counters, npc kills (expandable to see ship catagories) able to show/hide in your bio/info PC kills (same as above and maybe ability to click on the ship classes to see the killmails associated with them)

this is a great idea, it could be used to create a secondary market for "well known ships" like the USS Constitution or the HMS Victory, on the contract system.
This idea is fantastic provided that you can hide the stripes for both local and remote ships (IE i dont want everyone to always be able to see im flying my favorite ship and I dont want to have to load everyones kill history when I enter a fleet battle) |

agree.. collectors would love this idea too.. i know alot of people would pay for a battle hardened ship just for the extra Epeen points . |

Why would the database have a problem with it? each unpackaged ship is already its own object with its own attributes, etc. all this would be doing is adding one more category to each database entry . . . im sure they each already have dozens . . .
Just note that repackaging the ship would reset the counter, so the database doesnt have a whole bunch of new classes to keep track of. |

keeping track of every ship and its specific feets would put a huge burden on the server. because we would want all the roids we downed counted on our barges. all the rats we kill with our drones, every time we escaped certain doom from the hands of a pvper who attack defenseless craft. yeah, all that should be counted too.
as much as you guys like to pat yerselves on the back, i think it might be a little much on the servers.
remember back in the day when the domi could drop 10 drones? yeah, it would be like that again everytime someone warped onto grid with u.

Awesome Idea, I love it.... PVP only though and real kills only please!
On a side note I do this the other way around...... when I fit a ship I always give it a latin name, if it dies but I like the fit and remake it, its not "yada yada II"
and so on....im waiting for some of my more common but paper thin t1 frigs in FW roams to get to 'yada yada" XXVI or something lol

Good idea, a nice pvp boost. But i think that rats aren-Śn needed in this statistic, cause you already get around 100 rat kills after a few level 2 missions.
Also the ideas with the contracts sounds interesting, also i would be interessted in the price of ships with 10 or 100 kills. But i think those ships will be as often flown as any ship of the state faction line like the Caldari State Raven or collector ships like the Sarum Magnate. Proposal T2 BS Class Juggernaut |

A very nice idea, however it could also work for the npc's. You just have to have alot ( really alot ) more npc kills before you get a reward. |
