I was sitting at 240km, commenting the fights, watching many ravens warp in and out, torpedos explosion here and there, nothing changed, the missiles are still doing amazing damage to Battleships and i think it's a bit overpowered still, you could have 1 full damage mod ship, infront of a raven who's using the comon Shield tank setup, and he'd have problems killing him, and get owned by torpedos doing 'full' damage.
For a turret ship, you have to tank or gank, you can't really do the damage output of a raven if you're tanked, you can just 'last' longer till you finnaly 'die'. You can out tank a raven, but do you really have time? My point is, You can easily rig out a raven + shield tank and do amazing damage, which is completly unfair for any turret ship user. (don't give me the oh you suck you can't break a raven's tank routine).
Cruise changes, How do you take a raven sucking at long range to a sniper that does full damage as FAR as he can lock? Zcinner was sniping my ship from 165km, for over 160dmg per cruise missiles, for a sniper ship using turrets, at that range... hmm he wouldn't be doing that much damage constantly. They travel faster, they still hit hard.
I was flying around in a tanked zealot, 80% resistance all around. Tackling battleships, battleships at 15-90km could eat my tank up, a apocalypse with painters blew up my armor so hard in his first volley, i took structure damage. I tanked ravens with two fingers up my nose, I was even able to tank a CN raven.. I can't complain for the smaller ship > missile damage.
In my honest opinion, I don't think the new missile changes are that great, It doesn't make the missile 'balanced'. I'm not a raven basher, i've seen them before and after these changes and they are even better at it. It's like giving all turret ship at 100% bonus to ROF.
I didn't encounter alot of frigates, cruiser, hac, ceptors. I got hit by a cerberus and i was surprised by his damage output with the damage changes, but i could still tank him and his friend raven. On a zealot.
With the new launcher requirement, this shrinks down the crow's damage output to a ridiculous ammount compared to other ceptors like the taranis, sader/malediction, claw.. How many other interceptor got a full rack of lowslot fitted with power mods? Or a empty high slot? You can always find your way around, but on a crow? Fit rocket? Hmm amazing damage! crappy range vs 125/150mm and 250mm/280mm howitzers..
I guess you have to adapt, fit webbers, shrink down every little bit of TANK you have to be able to counter missiles, frigates, webbers or whatever you won't be able to hit with your new amazing raven of doom.
I wish i could come up with suggestion to make this post 'constructive' but i just can't. I like the new changes when you're flying a heavy assault cruiser or other ships but why does a raven or any other missile boat need to fit modules to hit like a turret ship does?
missiles in eve are becoming more like turrets but dont do the job against anything smaller than battleship sized. (eg, i dont fit 720mm on a tempest if i see a cruiser coming, and i surely won't hit for less damage if a frigate is matching my traversal speed, I'll just hit them full blast and laugh when a cruise/torp hits my small ships).
I'm partly defending the raven's user and still *****ing about raven getting a little boost in their damage output.
