Train up long range targeting...it gives a boost to targeting range. Wink

High Slots:
3 Strip miners

Mid:
Ore scanner

or if I'm low sec

V-15 Inv field (off tho have the sheild res skills too boost it)

Low Slots:
200mm reinforced rolled tungsten plates I
small 'accommodation' vestment reconstructer I

Drones:
5 Meds in different flavors

I do a similar type of mining... low sec with a similar set up. I run 3 tech 2 strips in the highs, scanner in the mid, then a plate and tech 2 rep in the lows.

You may also want to look at the skills the increase your shields so that your buffer is larger and takes the rats longer to hit your armor.

I have also found that in most cases 5 hammerhead II's are the best drones to have, but in Minmatar space I run 3 Vespas II's and 2 Valk II's.

I have never run into a problem killing the spawns off, but from time to time I have to cut the miners off so that they don't cycle when I run my rep.
