Im having some problems with my coveter fittings.

I currently run the following

hi = 3 x strips
med = 1 x Mining Scanner
low = 1 x cargo expander
1 x med named armor repairer

I mine in a .5 sec system, i defend myself with a small fleet of mixed drones.

Thing is i can only lock at 21.5km range so if it is a large spawn then quite often i will get reduced to armor tanking (if you call it that lol).

What i want id a config that will alow me to survive the spawn without dipping into armor.

Price realy isnt a issue, thanks.

Or you can drop the cargo extender or the armor repairer, and put a signal amplifier in one of the low slots. Your choice,.

Also just wanted to add that I do not use a survey scanner. I place one strip miner on one roid, so all three of my strip miners are on a different roid. That way I am not wasting to many cycles if the roid pops. Also I can still fill a jet can in 30 minutes. So unless you are in 0.0 mining, I would like to hear why you need a scanner in the mid-slot. Thanks

Actually the barges have quite nice locking time. The Covetor locks NPC frigs in 4-5 seconds.

Of course they might have been nerfed since i used mine the last time, which was around christmas.

It is not so much the locking time, but the range you can lock targets.

you can fit a medium armour repairer? is that a type_oh?
I also second the sensor booster argument, your only defense is drones and the sooner you can put them to use the less possible damage you'll aquire;.

Hi: 3 NOS
Mid: 1 Scrambler (as not to let those tricky roids get away)
Low: 2 Local Hull Conversion Nanofibers or Overdrives (lack of webber, u need to keep up with the roids)
Vin Diesel claims he has never hailed a taxi. He just runs up to them at stop lights, opens the door, shoves the current passenger over, and tells the cab driver what his new destination is.

Lol Trey Smile

Ive got the sensor booster in mid, and 2 nanos in low.

The booster takes just about zero cap meaning I can keep my modulated miners going, and I can lock at 39/40k. With 7 Hammerheads (with 40k range) 0.5 couldn't be safer. Even managed spawns with as little as 4 of em, and never lost my shield.

Id have to agree with viceroy in fitting a sensor booster, lighning quick locking times and ablility to send your drones out sooner overall increase the survivability of the ship.

Id only fit a scanner if mining in 0.0 and i didnt want to pop Ark roids.

For mining in 0.0 I put 2 nanofibers in the low slot. If anything targets me a warp out is the only sensible thing. And I use the midslot for ore scanner.

Ok not realy what i was looking for.

my highslots contain following.
3 x strips

Med
1 x Scanner

Low
1x Cap recharger
1 x Med armor repairer

I use the scanner cause i mine rares that have very low amounts in the rocks so i need to activly monitor it to ensure i keep my miners going as fast as my cap lasts.

I think thats the best im gonna get unless ccp give us another med slot.....
