Doubt it. Turn the slider for music down down down. I did that on my 2nd day in eve. Never slid to the right again.. If you wanted people to listen to the music maybe it shouldn't be so terrible. |

I listened to the EvE music through once.
Then I turned it down to 0 and put on Alestorm instead.
When it was available in the client, I played it through that. Since it went away, I play it through windows media player. |

The jukebox was a kludge that kindasorta worked, used licensed code (cost money to CCP), and apparently caused numerous headaches during code maintenance.
Putting it back, at this point, is nigh impossible. Things have changed code-wise since the day it was stripped out. To re-implement, CCP would have to reacquire licenses/develop in-house, rollback the internal codebase to the day it was removed, then re-implement every change, update, and fix made between then and now, fixing any conflicts that would invariably arise from using grotty code. It is a TON of work. All that to duplicate functionality that is now built into every modern OS shipped.
I would rather have CCP work on new features/fixes/balances, than waste dev hours on a jukebox that barely anyone used. If you want music, then alt-tab, fire up whichever media player you want, and play from there. Don't worry miners, I'm here to help!

Again, how about some hard numbers to prove your assertion that "hardly anyone used" the jukebox? Do you work for CCP and know about the codebase and licensing issues?
The whole point is that I don't want yet another app running in the background just so I can listen to music that used to be in the game. I don't know of any other game that requires this. Also, in case you didn't notice, this is Eve. Messing around with some thrid party app outside the client can get you blown up very quickly so, I'd rather not. I've been around over 5 years now and new clones are getting pretty pricy. What you want is irrelevant, what you've chosen is at hand. |

I was one out of thousands and thousands of players who used the Jukebox. I find it easier to switch music using the Jukebox so I can keep an eye on whats going on in EVE than switching windows all the time changing music.
When you PVP, its hard to keep switching windows all the time. |

There's no music at all, it's just a low ambient noise, every day, all the time.

CCP stated at Fanfest the jukebox is totally, utterly, 100% gone, and nothing you can say or do will bring it back. Gone. Kaput. Deleted. It's dead Jim.
If not having the jukebox is a gamebreaker for you, now is the time to unsub and find a new game. Don't worry miners, I'm here to help!

I guess CCP intended for Eve to not have sound outside of highsec because all I ever hear out in Deklein or Delve is background space noise. Reading the EVEO forums is like huffing gas or sniffing glue. Sure it's funny and you get high, but you pay a terrible, terrible price in the long run. |

Nothing against the game's music, RealX, it's pretty well put together, but game music always gets old over time. You hear the same songs every time you play and want to change things up eventually.
The jukebox was fantastic because you could just swap in a new playlist and enjoy, and it was always to your taste. Removing it made many people sad, myself included. TEST Alliance BEST Alliance |

I'm looking into either to add a checkbox to make the music stop or when the slider goes to 0.0 that the the music system will also stop. How about the option of adding, you know, music to the music. Its not that the Eve music is bad in general. But if you play a game for years, espacially a game you have running in the background a lot, you dont want to listen to the same music over and over again. When I play Eve and dont use Voice Chat I often listen to the radio. :) Yay 10 years! :D |

Doubt it. Turn the slider for music down down down. I did that on my 2nd day in eve. Never slid to the right again.. If you are sad about your customers removing sound from their gaming experience (which seems absurd in the grand scheme of things; who the **** turns of sound in games, traditionally???), then make a better sound scape in EVE.
I too turned off sound on my main character as any sort PvP with significant numbers is a jumble of unpleasant sounds. It is distracting and distasteful.
I will contrast EVE against Halo (xbox, storyline) which has one of the best soundtracks that I have ever experienced and old-school Myst for its delightful ambient sounds.
For my part, I enjoyed listening to the "classic" EVE sound track once in a while. The music was tolerable ambient, mostly. +++++++ I have never shed a tear for a fellow EVE player until now. Mark GÇ£SeleeneGÇ¥ Heard's Blog Honoring Sean "Vile Rat" Smith. |

What needs to happen here is you need to create more wonderful music for the game. Not all of us turn the music off but after hearing the same tracks over and over and over for years it would be nice to hear some new stuff :D

I don't have the link handy here at work, but a search (or helpful poster) will no doubt turn it up. To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

Listening to the concert last night reminded me just how great the Eve soundtrack is and also made me sad that I could no longer hear it inside the game, aside from 4 or 5.
Also, this is an ongoing issue therefore, OK to keep it on peoples' minds. CCP asked for feedback and that's what some of us are doing, rather than mocking and denigrating their fellow players. You've made it abundantly clear how you feel on this issue. No need to keep trolling. I see, anyone that disagree's with you is trolling.
I'm pretty sure the facts of the matter cover all use case scenario's.
Learn to run more than one piece of software on your computer at the same time. Pretty much every music player available (including the one you likely already have) are designed to run this way.
Now if you want them to introduce more music into the current system, then you'll get my support.
Variety is a good thing after all, but so is each area of space or certain actvities having a specific mood generated by the audio.
So instead of beating a dead horse, lets ask them to consider expanding the EvE soundscape a bit more.
