...is there a way to actually stop the music or prevent it from playing other than turning its volume slider down in the options menu?

This. I actually listen to the music tho, in iTunes. But I have the audio button unticked since years and years and years, and the music slider all the way left since even further back. AFK-cloaking in a system near you. |

I just thought it might uselessly continue playing in the background, when I just turn the volume down.
That's why I was looking for the "stop" button :)

I'm looking into either to add a checkbox to make the music stop or when the slider goes to 0.0 that the the music system will also stop. |

How about the option of adding, you know, music to the music.

I muted the Jukebox soon after i started playing EvE, it was just not my type of music. But the new surroundings sensible atmosphere is awesome. And station sounds. Was flying for the first time since forever below a gallente station and heard that someone took a lod speech there, never heard that before, its great. |

Not a fan of the "music", I can respect that.

RealX, I listen to EvE tracks outside of the client all the time man, head up buddy!
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Titans on fire outside "The Alamo" of NOL-M9. I watched massive Super Capital fleets glitter in the dark near the BKG-Q2 gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... -á Time to die. |

When it comes to music, you can't please everyone. Some people like rock, some people like trance, you really have an international community playing the game.
RealX, it will be a lot of work, but how about composing themes / genres for the music, and letting us get them from the NeX store for plex / aurum / whatever. We get options for the music, you get paid for work, and everyone wins. |

having a check box would be nice since you can leave the music volume set to a comfortable level for yourself. It would also make it easier to add a keyboard shortcut to toggle music on and off. Say to mute the music while listening to teamspeak. Just a thought. This is the configuration I prefer in most other games. In EVE I tend to have the music off and instead play a funk and acid jazz station in the background so it doesn't matter to me either way.
BTW, why was the jukebox removed? |

Most people put these song on youtube. I know it may be "illegal" but just use a site like youtube-mp3 and download it from there. Personally I like the Jukebox and all the old songs like below the asteroids, surplus of rare artifacts, and I saw your ship. |

They made it so that different sounds or songs play when your in high, low, null, or w-space. Different variations of these songs/sounds play depending on whether your in combat, mining, the amount of ships destroyed in the last hour in the system, etc. I can see why they did it and it is an interesting concept, but this shouldn't be a mini-incarna. They should give us the choice to have it the new way or just click a button or check a box to have the old jukebox back. Honor is a fools prize. Glory is of no use to the dead. |

Will have to check this out tonight. In most games the first thing I do is turn off the music. In Eve I have always listened to the music.
Liked the Jukebox as I could change the track on my own. |

guys: soundcloud. If you want the in-game music with jukebox control, turn off the in-game music, load up the soundcloud and have fun.
