To repair them take them out of your drone bay to the hanger floor.

Then repackage them in the normal manner.

I do this every time after a night's combat mining.

Open the repair screen. Near the top-left corner is a button that says "pick item."

Click it, and pick whatever you want to repackage from the list. The repair scree will load and at the bottom will be a "repackage" button.

Its useful for modules you've mounted on your ship, you can put 'em back in their box and stack them in your hanger.

Have you ever had it ask you to repair the drone before repackaging? I had been doing the same thing, as well as my other drone using friend...neither of us has ever actually found one in need of repair...now that were using heavy drones, instead of light and medium, i actualy do get a drone that takes damage but isnt destroyed on occasion. The last time this happened I didnt notice it was damaged untill I had already given the scoop command. When I relaunched with the intent of scooping the damaged one to cargo, all drones reported full health. So...
1) Drones are auto repaired by loading into drone bay
or
2) Even heavy drones are having a health display problem. (for me light drones always show 100% health even after they are destroyed..then they just vanish about 30 seconds later)

Guess I need to unload all but one heavy drone, shoot it a few times, load it up, unload it, shoot it again, try repackaging it and then some answers should be forthcoming.

heavy drones do get damage - whether that is permanent or not depends on whether its just shield damage i think.

Damaged drones will not repackage, like any other item in Eve.

To repair drones, either do it in station repair by clicking on the ship, or use modules on them in space by targetting them first. (former is much easier, and v.cheap)
